Husband and wife owners, Massimiliano Conti and Lorella Degan work together to take you to a culinary journey through the Italian island of Sardinia. The chef is committed to use the freshest and the most authentic ingredients from his native island, resulting in pungent, lively, flavorful food. The all Italian wine list,170 labels selection represent every Region with more than a quarter devote to Sardinia in order to pair the traditional earthy flavors as well seafood influence of Sardinia cuisine. This was my second visit, service has been great both times, food out of this world, wine list awesome and appropriate for the cuisine, get your server to recommend the wine, they know the wine list backwards and forwards. Will be taking all my "foodie" out of town guests here!!
This restaurant is simply wonderful. The food fantasic: the highest quality ingredients and expertly prepared. This is authentic cuisine from Sardinia, Italy and you will not find anyplace who does this better. Everything was perfect. The servers were friendly and helpful and were there when they could tell you needed something. The owners are there and warmly greeted their guests to create a home-like atmosphere. We love it and can't wait to come back
A small neighborhood gem serving a frequently changing menu based on the food of Sardinia. Fresh, well-prepared and presented. Professional service with a friendly touch provided by the co-owner wife of the chef. Limited menu (a bit on the expensive side). But, an extensive (also a bit pricey) wine list that even most Italian-wine fans have never heard of, let alone tried. All-in-all, a must-try experience for folks who appreciate diverse, very well executed dining experiences.
La Ciccia is authentic, delicious food from Sardinia-Italian with an emphasis on dishes from the sea. The sea urchin pasta is truly unique. They feature sustainably harvested fish. The wine list is great, featuring Sardinian wines. The staff is knowledgeable about all the dishes, the wines, and pairing. If you can get a table, it is well worth it. Plan far ahead for a special occasion. Ciao!
One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Have been going since they opened. Food always delicious. Lorella is an impeccable host. The combination of warm hospitality, delicious food, and attentive service is great. Always look forward to my return visit.
Prawns main dinner course was misleading. It described bread crumbs and my dinner came out prawns in a black sauce. Also, the vegetables were cooked like fajita veggies. It was not delicious at all. I was disappointed given the rating. My bf also got a pork chop dinner that tastes bland and uneventful.
My mom and I truly enjoyed our dinner and the excellent service at La Ciccia. The wait staff was attentive and fun loving. Our meals were excellent and made us nostalgic for the Mediterranean. Loved the prawns, spaghetti, and Mediterranean Sea bass. Dessert was perfect. We're already planning what we'll try next time!
This is the first time I was somewhat disappointed. The flatbread and tripe were delicious and the fresh sardines were tasty, but my seafood pasta fell short on flavor, as it was rather bland, especially compared to the spicy tomato sauce for the tripe, and I didn't expect the pasta to resemble Israeli couscous and have a rather slimy consistency. Our experience overall was good, but not as fabulous as on past visits. The wine list remains topnotch!
My wife and I were visiting from Portland, OR, which is considered a good foodie town with many excellent restaurants. Yet we've never encountered food quite like this in Portland. Our dishes were among the tastiest we've ever eaten. Our waitress was very friendly and knew exactly which wines would work best with our dishes.
Without fail, my favorite dining experience in San Francisco. The singular Sardinian fare and wine list are impeccably executed and curated, but it's the aura of palpable but inobtrusive warmth, ethos of true hospitality and seamless service that bring this cozy oasis to another level.
From the time that Lorella greets you at the door and seats you, you just know that this evening is going to be special. The quiet decor and the ambiance is immediately calming.
My husband and I have been eating at La Ciccia for more than 10 years- several times each year. I am always quite happy at how consistently satisfying the food is.
Good ingredients, earthy and sophisticated preparation. Each dish, each course so subtly flavorful. Massimiliano's artistry, attention to every detail and what must be pure Italian passion are evident in every bite. Lorella and Massimiliano make sure that we leave with very
fond memories and wondering we can make it back.

I didn't like my appetizer. It was the special and a salad with shrimp. Well they had their heads and shells and you are supposed to eat them as is. And I simply didn't like the taste. When I told the waiter he took them away as I assured him it was just that I didn't like them. I thought it was more ham fair that they took it off the bill. I was not a fan of the cauliflower that came with my meal which was excellent pork. But again that's me! All in all a wonderful restaurant with great staff.
