Excellent food and smooth, personable service, on a quiet back patio. Can’t wait to come back.
The food at La Ciccia is always wonderful, and under somewhat trying circumstances, serving tables outside, the hospitality was as warm as usual. It will be wonderful when they are open again as usual. The current challenges for the restaurant, all restaurants to be honest, are considerable. They are doing yeoman’s work to serve us.
This is a neighborhood gem--a low-key, welcoming atmosphere is paired with a unique menu in which everything is delicious. Glad these guys seem to be surviving COVID. The food travels well, but the patio and street dining feel safe and comfortable.
One of the best restaurants in SF
From food to service!
The pasta is special and outstanding! The flavor is different from anywhere else.
The best spaghetti ever . Calamari and octopus stew are very good too.
Birthday dinners are the best at La Ciccia! We were a group of four so we were able to taste all of the pastas! Had some amazing starters and finished it off with the most amazing prawns...Wonderful!!
Absolutely delicious food, great service and an all-round super night!
Delicious food, authentic Sardinian classics. The terrace could do with a spruce up - really not on par with the restaurant priced at this level.
Service was attentive at a distance. They offered us a heater, but we didn't need it. The suggestions on wine were spot on. The food was the highlight of the night though.
Pasta is perfectly done. Seafood is tasty and not "just the usual" dishes. You leave satisfied but not stuffed. Their outdoor space is cute and welcoming. Great place!
It is amazing food and great ambiance. One of our favorites in SF!
This restaurant is the real deal. Let’s help support them so that we my keep it
Good was incredible. Service was perfect. Thanks La Ciccia!
We ordered a variety of traditional Sardinian entrées and appetizers. All pastas were definitely fresh and homemade.
Pluses: Good baby octopus stew appetizer
Good fusilli with sea urchin tomato sauce and grated tuna heart
Good pasta with pork ragu
Cons: Spaghetti with bottarga was just ok
Disappointed with the oven roasted prawns which were cooked in the shell and were hard to dig out
Burrata appetizer was ok but I’ve had better
Very popular place even on a weeknight. Our servers seemed overwhelmed. Not too attentive to our table.
Not sure I’d return.
We ordered the lamb chops and they were among the best I've ever had!
One of our favorite neighborhood places - world class Italian from a fantastic team. First meal out post the fall Covid surge and felt completely safe.
Birthday. Amazing food, impeccable service. Spent my man’s 54th bday here.
Excellent food and service. Will go back.
La Ciccia delivers consistently great food. My friends and I shared the roasted calamari salad, flatbread, and seasonal vegetables for starters, which I followed with with the octopus stew which was perfect while dining outdoors on a cool evening. Our server was excellent and recommended a perfect Sardinian wine to accompany our dinner.
The food, wine, service, ambience and overall dining experience was superb.
there’s nothing to say other than this is the best restaurant ever...in every which way. beautiful lorella & chef massimo have created a timeless masterpiece.
It’s was excellent. We will be back.
Quaint back yard seating set the lovely evening. Spaghetti with roe is a fave. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable
They are going beyond to ensure great quality and service prevails despite Cov19 impact
We tried the following menu options
- Baby Octopus stew in a spicy Tomato Sauce
- Fresh Spaghetti Spicy Oil Garlic Cured Fish Roe
- Fresh Spaghetti Plum Tomatoes Onions Saffron Fiore Sardo Dop
All of them were amazing as always! Authentic, flavorful and textured pasta/spaghetti options
Very unique Sardinian Italian food with a spectacular Italian wine list. Really one of the very best restaurants in the city and the country.
Super, as usual!
Fabulous restaurant, run by a fabulous couple! Food was amazing and win recommendations by the course were perfect.
Excellent restaurant. One of my very favourite Italian (Sardinian!) in the city
Excelente comida atención insuperable
Good for dates if you are looking for cozy and comfortable nights while enjoying amazing food and wine
Very good food, very fresh and hot. Tables are a bit too close. Overall will try again.
Always exceeds expectations through authentic cooking and genuine service.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in SF, period!
The spot is at the end of Church at the far end of Noe Valley.
The restaurant is constantly packed and you'll do well to get a reservation here. In fact, I'd imagine it'd be impossible to get a drop in here.
The highlights, of course, were the squid and we also had some risotto which was exquisite. This night an off-menu item was a suckling pig in a delicious sauce.
They really know what they're doing here at this Sardinian restaurant and you can plainly see by all the business they get. It's well deserved!
The food is delicious. Loved the spaghetti with fish roe!
Very welcome and service. Classic neighborhood restaurant atmosphere, close tables, rather outdated but decent setting. Three dishes out of four absolutely delicious (mushroom pasta, boutargue pasta, branzino) and the other completely missed (floury inedible shrimp for more than half and too much butter sauce, vegetables too salty). Two primi, two secondi, a dessert and a bottle of wine at $ 65, the total bill goes up to $ 212 without service. It is much too expensive compared to the plate and the frame. Too bad because we would have liked to recommend this restaurant.
Filling heartwarming food. Everything was good. Fast service also.
The food is quite excellent and a pretty decent price for the quality. This time our service was fair. Our server suggested that we get too many dishes, and even some with overlapping flavors/ingredients, which we were not pleased about. He did not come back to ask us how everything was either. Overall I would go back but ensure that we are served by a different server.
I love this place, every time. The food and wine are wonderful. It always feels like a special occasion eating here.
Amazing food choices beautifully created and presented - we will definitely return
