We had dinner reservations to take our friends out to their upcoming wedding. The place was so noisy we could not even talk w them. We had to move outside. We ordered salads, that were tasty but so small. Each salad was about 5 bites, it was our friends first time, they were not impressed. We were embarrassed that we chose the restaurant. It was very disappointing.
We always enjoy an evening at La Chasse in the Highlands. Isaac, the owner, has created a lovely dining experience with interesting food from an outstanding chef, great service and personal attention to every detail. No wonder more and more Louisvillians are discovering La Chasse. You are doing it right. Looking forward to our next visit!
Food and cocktails rated above five stars—really top notch. Nice ambiance, a little loud but not like most restaurants these days. The only glitch was that our server, who was admittedly attentive to us, seemed to have a chip on his shoulder toward the bartender and chef which was really uncomfortable. He comped our first cocktails because they took awhile to come out—much appreciated— but we didn’t need to hear about how angry he was about it, or be reminded repeatedly about the freebies. When our food arrived I was asked to immediately cut into my steak to be sure it was properly cooked, because ‘if it was underdone he was really gonna let the chef have it...’ Will we go back? Absolutely, but will hope for a more contented server!
We were impressed at every course eaten. So much so, that we spent a fair amount of time trying to work out when we could return with friends. Great food and superlative service. Thank you all for a wonderful night out.
First time to have Patrick and he was very good! As always - excellent food and service.
We were pleasantly surprised by La Chasse, which we chose for a meal when we stopped in Louisville for the night on a drive from Chicago to Atlanta. The food and wine were very good. It's a great little neighborhood restaurant that we'd visit again in a heartbeat.
It was our first visit to La Chasse, celebrating my wife's birthday. Our waiter, Patrick was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. It wasn't overly crowded when we arrived, but he got slammed shortly after we were seated. After a bit of a wait he returned to our table and apologized for the delays. From what I could tell he was covering about half of the tables in the restaurant, so the delay was understandable. We really weren't in a hurry so it was no big deal. My wife had the scallops and I chose the fish special which was swordfish. Both were delicious. It appeared as if the kitchen got backed up, although we really hadn't noticed, and when our entrees were served the owner came by our table to apologize for our wait. We appreciated his concern and his offer of a complementary drink for our delay. His concern was genuine and we urge everyone to give this spot a try. We'll definitely return.
It is always amazing!
The staff pretended to know an awful lot about gluten-free options. They even went as far to say that my orzo pasta was gluten-free. Good grief.
We had a great post Derby meal at La Chasse. Mike took excellent care of our group. Our reservation was for 8:30 but we were a little late due to the time it took to get out of Churchill downs. The staff was very accommodating. We enjoyed several dishes and can't say enough great things about the service. We would definitely return.
One of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. Always great service. Food is delicious.
This was an amazing place to celebrate completing my Master’s degree. I was so thankful that the chef was willing to accommodate my lactose-intolerance by creating a custom middle order. That was the best middle broth both my husband made myself have ever had. You should include it in your repertoire, or even consider it as a soup base. We order more bread just so we could enjoy every last drop! Thank you for making my night so special.
We were celebrating our anniversary here and it was NOT a good experience. My husband ordered escargot and they were tough as rubber. I ordered fried oysters AND a Ceasar salad and was served fried oysters over the salad. The lettuce was old, limp and not much of it. My husband had the rabbit and it was overdone. This was our second time dining here but we have no reason to return.
Food was ok but a bit pricey for what was presented. Good wait staff Good wine menu Noise level makes it difficult to carry on a conversation. If you’re looking for intimacy and soft music don’t. Go there
A great escape from our own kitchen and routine. The filet was supreme.
Our waiter was excellent.
We had a great time. We were not rushed. The food was wonderful
The waiter was so knowledgeable about the food and the menu. That was very helpful in making the right choices for wine and appetizers. Loved the mussels!
OUTSTANDING! The cheese appetizer was absolutely the bomb!
I highly recommend this place. The food and drinks were amazing. Service was also great.
Fantastic quaint restaurant with a very well thought out menu and delicious wine pairings. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a romantic evening out!
As usual, perfect in every way. Don’t let the noise level bother you. It adds to the fun, hospitable atmosphere. Service is friendly, smart, informed and unobtrusive. Food is perfect, as are the mixed drinks and wine list.
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Every course was delicious! I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again!
Great service, Patrick was awesome. We had a great time!
Delicious, surprising taste profiles. Every course was great!
Delicious food and drinks. Staff was wonderful.
The food was awesome. We enjoyed the evening but it was too loud. The sound reverberated off the brick walls. There was one table that was especially loud.
Another absolutely sublime meal
Isaac and his crew are absolutely wonderful. Food, service and atmosphere are all top notch.
Dinner was amazing! We all had clean plates because everything was a hit! Looking forward to coming back soon!
I would, under certain conditions. Great food, great service, but the noise level became almost unbearable. I could tell that my party was not the only ones having trouble with the noise level. Everyone seem to be leaning across their tables so they could hear and understand each other. So I would recommend the restaurant, but with the understanding that the noise level makes it terribly uncomfortable after a little while.
As a long-time patron of La Chasse, the service, food and bar program never cease to amaze me! I've been a fan from day one, and continue to count it as one of my go-to spots in my rotation!
Amazing as always! Regular customer we are...not much else to say
We went there to celebrate a birthday with 6 people. We had great service and the food was phenomenal! We really enjoyed the experience and will plan on going back.
Great food and service. The noise level is painful and the space is too cramped. It's unfortunate that the ambiance lets down the fantastic food, wine and service. It's a shame and while we'll miss the food, we won't be back.
I love La Chasse! I’ve been there many times and it is always great. We each had one of the two menu specials. My veal chop was to die for! It didn’t hurt that they had a pretty big list of 1/2 price wine. We decided to eat at the bar and were waited on by both the bar tender & maitre de. They were friendly & attentive. All in all an excellent evening of fine dining.
First time visit for our anniversary, but will definitely not be the last. Very cozy and romantic. Our server Michael knew the menu well, including the specials, and was friendly and personable while giving us plenty of space. The charred octopus appetizer is one of the best in the city. The ice cream sandwich might be the best desert I've had out. We are definitely looking forward to returning as there are several other items on the menu that sound great. It was hard to choose.
We received a gift certificate. We had never been here before, but we’d heard it was great. We had their salad special, scallops, and short ribs. For dessert the apple-cherry “pie.” Everything was amazing. We will definitely return.
Just overall surprised and disappointed with our dining experience. Took too long to get our drinks after being seated, too long to get our food and probably too long to pay our bill. All those things, regardless of the food quality combine for a negative experience. As for the food, the pork chop entree was really good. I had read the November 2018 review of the gnocchi and couldn't wait to order. Nothing like the review. Sorry to be negative, but overall given the money spent, our experience was surprisingly disapponting.
Kinda a loud restaurant, but still one of my favorites in town. Great food and service as always. Waiter was very patient with us because we couldn’t stop talking and catching up. He also recommended a great wine for our dinner.
Second time here and it did not disappoint! Delicious food and cocktails! The mussel appetizer is so good! We will be back soon!
