La Cave - Wynn Las Vegas
Excellent brunch! We tried almost everything on the menu. Everything was simply delicious. Definitely want to come back next time we're in Vegas.
We used to love going to La Cave. The wine bar was one of the best in Las Vegas with amazing tastes of unique wines. We used to love it there.
Our most recent visit to La Cave was disappointing to say the least. First, their patio is under construction making the room appear very enclosed and drafty. Second, when we arrived we were told they were no longer doing wine flights. Instead, it appeared that everything was either by the bottle or by the glass. Since La Cave is supposed to be a wine bar this was also very disappointing.
Our server was great and he rallied. We told him we were locals and that we had been coming in for years. He was able to convince the manager to allow us to do a flight of any wine on their by the glass menu. If we didn't insist, I wonder if we would have actually received this offer.
Next, we ordered the cheese and charcuterie board for $44. The presentation was totally lackluster. 3 cheeses, 3 meats, some jam and flatbread. That was it! No olives, no nuts, no mustard , no fruit! It was so plain and boring and for $44 was ridiculous. My guess is that the margin on this plate is about 200% or more.
At the end of our meal, we were told that the manager had re-done the wine flights. What had been a menu of amazing and varied flights was now replaced with 5-6 flights and they are nothing special. A French flight, a Spanish flight, a taste of California - BORING! The price point is good at $29 but the wines aren't special or unique.
If you couldn't tell from the post we are wine and food people. La Cave used to be a special place for us. I doubt we will return any time soon.
Excellent small plates and very good service. However, Californian wine extremely expensive! Also, a bit more light when trying to read the menu would have been nice.
One of the best spots for a more casual meal at Wynn.
The best hidden little gem at the Wynn. Their brunch is fantastic, like nothing you’ve experienced.
The tapa sized plates were nice for pre-theater dining. No scallops on the menu was disappointing, so we got the charcuterie plate which was fabulous.
Great happy greeting from the hostess, bussers and server were vety nice and on top of everything.
Sommelier was nice and attentive.
Layed back atmosphere over looking the pool area, nice early evening before a concert spot.
Whom ever is the dessert chief just Killed it!!
Awesome dessert, Chocolate Mousse, Ganache Cake.
Nice bottle of Zinfandel a real find for only $88 on a otherwise pricey wine menu.
But hay it was date night!
We sat outside so the music from the outdoor area of Wynn was fighting with the music inside the restaurant. The food was decent but nothing to rave about. Service was good but they did politely told us we needed to leave at 11:15 pm because we were the last guests in the restaurant and they wanted to close.
Always good times at La Cave. Chic place with good food.
Way way overpriced for the quality. Beet salad very bland. Steak was overdone, portions on some dishes were like a bite.
Great service and ambiance. We booked it before a show, and the small plate concept allows you to share. Noise level is conversational.
We flew in for the RISE Festival and landed during the dinner hour. We made a last minute reservation at La Cave because they have small plates and good vegan/vegetarian options for me. I had the vegan Fettuccine, Lemon Herb Vinaigrette, Tomatoes and it was light and delicious. I also ordered the Gardein Chick'n Celery Root Puree, Lemon Caper Sauce and everyone tried it and loved it. The carnivores had the Braised Short Rib, Beef Carpaccio, Blackened Salmon and Broccolini and raved about all of it. At first they sat us outside right by the door but because the restaurant door was open, it created a wind tunnel that cooled us down too much and would have cooled our food down too much so we moved closer to the patio railing. It was perfect and not so noisy.
Although I think it was overpriced for the amount of food you get (I guess that's Vegas), the waiter was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. He was funny, personable, and happen to overhear that there were some really important life events happening at our table and bought us all dessert. Above and beyond for sure and not at all what I expected from a place in Vegas like that, ie the ones who know you're not rolling in it so they want to get you out of there ASAP for the more lucrative clients. Wish we could have had more bang for our buck, but the food was tasty and I still would go back there because of that server.
We had a marvelous meal before attending Le Reve (Cirque du Soleil show) & would recommend La Cave highly! The food was fun to taste different dishes and we enjoyed each of them very much! The food & wine were great, the service was fantastic, and they recognized our birthday celebration appropriately - much appreciated! Would go back again & sure to have an equally great experience!!
was way too loud, could barely hear my wife across the table
The fact that La Cave is a small plate restaurant was a pleasant surprise for both myself and my lady. It was a perfect place to share a pre-concert meal, with perfect choices and plate sizes for the both of us. Set aside from the hustle of the casino, it was also a rather intimate dining facility. The only drawback was the expected casino prices (we are locals). Otherwise a fine meal was had by us both.
Intimate ding area. The selection of small plates are a good variety for all tastes.
Date night dinner before a concert at Wynn. The food was amazing -- unusual combinations and absolutely delicious. The bacon-wrapped dates with blue cheese fondue was a mouthgasm. Everything we had was fantastic and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Everything was great. The skirt steak and scallops were perfect. The bussel sprouts and the fig dishes were very good. The octopus dish was excellent but the octopus was slightly overcooked. The wine list is top notch. This was a wonderful tapas experience. My only recommendation would be to add wines flights of all red or white varieties to the selection of flights.
Veg flat bread and sliders were very tasty.
Restaurant is to loud. Could not have a conversation. Service was so-so. Food was good
AmaIng food and service. You get what you pay for. I would dine here again.
Always excellent! A must stop when in Vegas. My wife and I found this place 6 years ago and love it every time we go!
The dinner and the service were really great!! Highly recommend! The only downside of this establishment was the fact we had a loud pretentious table next to us, which could not be helped lol! Great food, great wine selections, great service!
We stop by every time in Vegas. Food was good as always except the steak crostini was over done.
The service and food were both wonderful. Beautiful setting out on the patio.
As far as tapas places go , we were very impressed by the portions.
Excellent service - the patio is amazing.
We had a beautiful, romantic date here! Wonderful service, good food, and exceptional wine!
The lump crab lettuce wraps were amazing! Also loved the seared scallops. Try the beignets for dessert with 3 delicious dipping sauces. We sat out on the patio which was lovely. Nice casual atmosphere with excellent service.
Was an amazing find! Great food, service was amazing. Perfection. Will definitely be back
This place is beautiful, but wow is it expensive! And our waitress was rude, which was surprising for such an upscale establishment. She recommended the skirt steak to me which had literally zero flavor. The short ribs were very good, but 2 glasses of wine and 2 very small plates was $105. Insanity.
Crab lettuce tacos - yum! Everything is delicious - we tried 5 items for 3 of us....more than enough food...
We have dined at La Cave about 6 times over the last 4 years - always been great - and have recommended it to friends who have all enjoyed.
I was excited to go here as I really enjoy small plate dinning. We were seated at first inside but quickly realized the music was so loud we couldn’t talk. We were changed to a table outside. Much better. We ordered our drinks and he food at the same time. Within 5 minutes we receive our first dish.
1. Bacon wrapped dates
2. Mexican Street corn - as a side
3. Beef flat bread
4. Moroccan chicken skewers
The dates were very bland, not hot just like warm. Nothing special whatsoever. The blue cheese dip they had was light and airy like a mousse
Our drinks were delivered well after our dates.
The Mexican corn was then delivered. Now I’ve been to Mexico many, many times and the street corn there is sweet, salty from the cheese and simply delicious. This was very acidic from the first bite. Kinda of like eating a sweet tart. Not god enough to halfway finish the dish.
He flat bread was tasteless as well. Instead of being savory and delicious it was dry and the beef was tough.
Lastly the chicken skewers, dry, dry, dry!!!!! I ate one small piece and drank most of my water!!!
Would I waste another $120? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
My husband and I chose La Cave for a light meal before seeing a show at the Wynn. We were seated on the covered balcony (very nice!). The tapas portions were just right; I chose a flatbread (yum) while my husband chose Moroccan Chicken (good, not great). The highlight of the meal were the wine flights, which offered a nice selection of different wines to try. If you are a wine lover I'd try La Cave.
Excellent service and wonderful menu. I highly recommend it and I will surely return.
Excellent food. Great ambiance. Buffet, butler style. Little expensive. Family of 4 with 16 year old and 10 year old enjoyed the meal and experience.
Good food very poor service
The only time we saw our waiter was in we he took the initial order and when we asked for th bill he showed up again
Won’t be going back
Food is okay nothing special. I like the wine menu and the tasting wine list was fun.
Decent food (not the best in Vegas but definitely ok whbut great service.
