The LA CAVA concept is based on Armando's roots. Born and raised in Florence, he grew up learning that as a local, one would go dining in the little Osterias where everything was made fresh daily, prepared with basic ingredients, simple recipes, delightful flavors and lots of love, for a fantastic experience that was also "gentle" on your wallet.
Ravioli in Salsa Rosa
Homemade ravioli stuffed with spinach & ricotta in a pink sauce
Frittura di Calamari
Fried calamari and zucchini
Tagliatelle alla Bolognese
Tagliatelle pasta with meat sauce
Amazing and yummy! We loved Ernersto The Besto and Justin...Love that place
It was great
Absolutely delicious food and attentive service!!
Great staff and great food ! loved the hospitality and overall customer service from everyone !! If In LA A MUST HAVE RATE 10/10
The best food, authentic Italian. Will always be my fav place to eat. Their pizza is unbelievable and Every pasta dish is fresh and made to order. Highly recommended
Great food and service! We will be back!
I went there during a holiday in LA. I come from Italy and food at “La Cava” is as amazing as in my country, or maybe even better. Well deserved five stars!
Great experience with my wife will continue coming back
We LOVE La Cava!!!! The food is amazing and literally I think this is the best Bolognese in town!!!!
Only thing that would make this a perfect restaurant would be if there was a full bar. That being said it's a perfect neighborhood spot with out without kids! Thanks
I’m from Italy, and I couldn’t be more satisfied of my experience at La Cava! It really surprised me for it’s excellent service and food. The owner was really polite too, and made us have an unforgettable night. Better than in Italy!
The food is tasty, the service was good, the tables are too close to each other, and the noise level is incredibly ear popping.
Wonderful Evening with Excellent Food, Staff, and Evening. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Seated right away. Drinks came after 5 minutes. Valentines menu was pretty awful. Choice of soup, calamari and a couple other things. No salads... I got lobster pasta she got the fillet. I should have got fillet. Two giant plates of calamari to start, wouldn’t complain if mine wasn’t over cooked and rubbery. Hers was not as bad. Her steak was cooked perfectly but not seasoned well and drowned in brown mustard sauce. My lobster pasta was not a lobster tail rather cut up tiny bites of chewy over cooked lobster along with soft over cooked pasta. Deserts were the best thing we had. Walked out paying 230$ with tip... we were disappointed but it was a busy day for the place so not sure how it is on a regular basis and not sure I will go back to see.
The host/manager was not very welcoming, but the waiter was wonderful. The sole was delicious. For Valentine’s Day, customers seemed to be pushed in and out. The price for this special evening was a bit gauging. The dress code says business casual, but even in this holiday night, customers dressed very casually, including the host/manager.
Food was 4/5! Definitely loves the calamari more than the pasta which is alarming when appetizers taste better than entrees. Dessert was good felt like I wasn’t getting any recommendations. I was just being rushed to pick. Which I hope they change that aspect of their service. Pasta needed more flavor wasn’t tasting good till I added peppers, the dish was lacking salt + pepper. It was just seafood vegetables and lobster.
Service was excellent.
My 3rd time at La Cava. Always a wonderful meal. This time, however, the service that has always been excellent, was truly exceptional. Our waiter, whose name I do not remember, could not have more attentive. His attention to all of our dining needs, and his helpful recommendations, truly made for a fantastic dining experience.
Their food and service is excellent. Great local place for a quiet dinner for two.
Great food, wonderful service , Gus was terrific, pastas amazing as well as pizza and short rib dinner. Consistently wonderful
Earned to was the best waiter we’ve had in years!!!! Perfect!!!
It was very nice
LA CAVA HAD GREAT FOOD AND TERRIFIC SERVICE. GREAT SPOT!
Just ate here about two weeks ago, and everyone liked more than I did. Service and ambiance were great, but food was just OK. Much better this time. And the bread and salad were still great to go with a much better dish this time around. And tiramisu was still terrific, too. Still a bit expensive, but really a great environment. So glad I gave it another chance.
Always good but the special pasta with brisket was amazing!!!!!
La Cava was amazing!!! The homemade pasta was the best pasta Iv ever had. Its a great restaurant for a special occasion. My friend and I shared the tiramisu and it was so good and creamy and it was the best Iv had in a very long time!!!
If you have a chance to go definitely have the pasta!!!
As always, we had a wonderful dinner. Armando runs one of the best Italian restaurants in LA. A real hidden gem.
Love this place. Order any of the pastas.
My dining companions all enjoyed their food that I did. I had a branzino special which wasn't bad, just odd. Tricolore salad was perfect, and warm bread brought to table was excellent. Wine was enjoyed by those who drank. Pizza received high marks, and the chicken parmigiana was also popular. Shared a tiramisu for dessert, and all agreed it was excellent. Really warm, inviting atmosphere, and all staff was tremendous. Seemed a bit expensive for what it was, but I am looking forward to returning.
We went there last night for my sisters bday. I thought the food was really good. But the prices to me were a little to high I thought. But all in all good restaurant I will return
Food and service were excellent but beware of the nightly "specials". Our server recommended the risotto with white truffles which I foolishly ordered without asking the price. I was shocked when the bill arrived to find the white truffle special was $90! The server never bothered to forewarn me and my bad for not asking in advance. I will never make that mistake again.
I’ve never once had a bad meal here. Food is amazing. Service is impeccable. It’s my neighborhood restaurant and the whole family loves going here.
What a great dining experience. Terrific service and the yummiest Italian fare I've had since my last trip to Italy! Prices are just a tad bit too high but the overall experience makes up for it. Chef not willing to create a child's plate for my 6 year old grandson so I shared my meal with him. Portion sizes are generous and the wine (house Chianti) was excellent.
Will be back.
I wouldn’t go back due to the noise level. They even have panels on the ceiling to minimize the noise. If you want to have a conversation with anyone, not happening here.
Rude owner, rude staff. Will NEVER go back.
Love this place. Food never disappoints. The waiters all have exotic accents, so you know it’s good.
Had a nice dinner with my sons and son GF, before my younger went back to east coast. The food was great, better than I remembered but had only been there once before. The pastas were all very fresh and tasty. The place is small and quite loud but we will definitely be back !
Fantastic service and food at La Cava! Great choices on and off the menu in specials and on their wine list.
I haven't been in a while, but i am sure glad I brought my wife and 2 additional friends!
Amazing for dinner but a great spot for a quiet romantic or business lunch with farm to table fresh food and ingredients and an impressive and reasonable wine by the glass and wine list. One of our favorites!
