The food was just OK and the server treated me like I was an inconvenience. This restaurant might be better for dinner but is not a good lunch spot.
Enjoyed the ability to not feel rushed during a business meeting. Service was superior. Staff was very helpful on target with menu suggestions. Dining room was nicely painted with scenic views and seats were very comfortable. Did not have any alcohol, but the bar also looked like a place you want to stop and enjoy a cocktail or light bites. Note - it was tricky to pull in - the entrance is on a highway with a merge area right where you need to turn in to the parking lot.
As always, La Catena is simply amazing! The food, the service, the attention to every detail is always spot on.
Appetizer menu and side dishes for entrees were limited and lack what I would consider the standards. But food and service were both very good. Can't blame the restaurant for the table of obnoxiously loud people across the room.
Have eaten here many times. Food and atmosphere always very good.
We had a fabulous Mothers Day dinner. Mom liked the lamb, hubby liked the veal, daughter liked the chicken and I enjoyed seafood. Tiramisu dessert was the bomb, so was the chocolate cake. A good night was had by all 😋
Overall good food, excellent attentive staff. Price is expensive. Soup, 1 pasta, 2 chicken and 1 fish and 3 desserts cost over $160 without tip. It's been over a year since we last dined here and remember it as much better. Lobster Bisque was fishy tasting and very thin. Past dish was fair, Chicken dishes were OK and Shrimp dish was good. Food overall was good, but I'm giving La Catena 4 stars because of the service which was very good. Even though the meal was very good, I expected better for what I would consider fine dining, Next special occasion I will probably think of another establishment to give a try.
Great food, reasonable prices and good service..ggod wine/good sauces etc...
Went there for lunch on mother's day. Had a great meal. Great Eurpoean style service and very professional. Nice ambiance too.
Because it was Cinco de Mayo, the restaurant was very quiet. The service was awesome, the staff was really friendly and spent some time with us.
The food and drinks were very good and we'd go back to try other dishes.
Not impressed. The place was empty on a Saturday night which was suspicious to me. I ordered a chicken and shrimp dinner which consisted of a bone in breast, a few shrimp, 3 pieces of small broccoli and a little potato patty thing about the size of a quarter. I don't think this was great value for the price. Service was fine. They have an extensive wine list but I asked for a Riesling and they didn't have any to offer.
Luuuuuuv this place! Do not ever go here. I want to keep it to myself!!!!!
Really nice Easter dinner. Food was classic Italian and very tasty and authentic.
As usual, this restaurant was fantastic. Food was excellent, service was impeccable, no one rushed us. Waitstaff was friendly but not intrusive. We were a party of 10 and all ages. Everyone loved their food. I highly recommend this establishment.
La Catena is a hidden jewel. Would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys great Italian Food. The food is a little pricey but the value is well worth it.
Caesar salad had odd bits of lettuce some of which was wilted. The waiter never checked with us (even to offer fresh ground pepper) but when he came to take away the plates I said we didn't care for it. No response from the waiter. We had fish and a chicken dish. Both were tasteless. The maitr'e di had no reaction when we said we didn't like the entrees. We weren't expecting 5-star dining but this experience was more like Olive Garden than a good restaurant.
Staff was nice - but service was terribly, painfully SLOW - and we sat down early at 6:30 when there were few other diners there yet. Food was good but not great, and for the prices they charge it should be great. Setting is very nice - brought us back to when we were in Italy. Not going back any time soon.
I've been going to La Catena with a group of 6 a few times/year for about 10 years. The Maitre d and the wait staff are superior! Perfect amount of attention (not too much, not too little), attention to each and every detail, friendly, and always make us feel appreciated. The food is outstanding as well and reasonably priced for the quality. I cannot say enough good things about La Catena. It's a real gem of a place.
Wish they insisted on stricter dress code. It's a nice place and people should not wear jeans.
Food is great! wish also menu was not so limited. All in all , highly recommend it.
OK food - typical American Italian. Nothing close to "Northern Italian" cuisine they advertise. Heavily over priced. Exorbitant. Service is very poor
Not worth it
Shrimp in gorgonzola was great.
Best veal chop ever!
A pitiful attempt at Italian food. I cook better at home. Will not go again.
Great waiter !
Parking and handicap access was a great surprise.
Excellent food and very lovely Friday night out.
Went for new years eve. They had a special menu which was very good with lots of variety. The service was excellent. The food very good. Would come back
A lovely dining experience. Service and atmosphere top notch. Great choice for taking guests out or special occasions.
Food as usual was wonderful. Service was okay for a busy holiday evening. Everyone had a great time.
At lunch the dining room was sparsely attended (though the bar was active). The food was fresh and had a "farm to table" feel that I wasn't expecting. They obviously do not scrimp on quality. The wait staff was attentive but distant (as they should be). Nice decor. Comprehensive wine list. Pricey but you get what you pay for. Overall I was impressed. The surrounding area is a culinary wasteland, so this is a needed development. I would go again.
Great service! Location is easy in & out. We will be back!
Average place. Would not go back again.
Excellent service. Food is delicious. Very accomodating with special dietary requests. Enjoyed the meal very much. Plan to go again soon.
La Catena is a real gem, always great food & service , a throw back in time .
Wow! We thought the restaurant at the Marriot was closed so we found this gem around the corner through Open Table. Continental service was spectacular. A definite neighborhood favorite for large groups and special occasions - yet the two of us were never rushed. Clam linguine was delicious - no chopped clams in sight!
Every thing was terrific - service, food, old world charm. Heavy on the anchovy for Caesar salad and not prepared at table side are the only minor quibbles. Wine list is expensive, but, by the glass, has some terrific choices.
Service was prompt and polite. Drinks were fast and tasty. Food was outrageously delicious! I have lived in this area all my life, and i wish i found La Catena years ago! I'll be back soon!
I took my Mom here for Mother's Day....she loved the white table clothes and fine dining experience....her chicken dish was so delicious and she loved the minestrone soup...there was enough for three people... I had the shrimp with spaghetti ...a beautiful presentation and also delicious.....the shrimp were extremely tasty.....we shared a slice of ricotta cheesecake, but to be honest, we were so full we HAD to take it home....it was too good to leave.
Would highly recommend dining here....can't wait to come back again.
Food was outstanding. Service was great. Warm and friendly. Will go back again.
food was amazing, service was great and the overall experience was lovely. It's good for an intimate group or a romantic dinner
the food was just okay, very pricey for what is served
We visited here a number of years ago with my husband's cousin.
Last night we decided to try it again after so many years.
It was quiet and I inquired as to us being the only folks n the dining room, our waiter told us that it was an unusually quiet Friday night. Within about 15 minutes two other parties did come in. To the wait staffs credit, they spaced everyone far enough away that none of us felt intruded upon. The staff was so attentive! We purchased a bottle of wine, and I found the staff knowledgeable in the cellar choices. The basil oil and warm rolls were a nice start, along with an amuse bouche of bruschetta, which tasted very fresh - but could have used a touch of salt and pepper.
I had the smoked salmon appetizer - it was wrapped around small pieces of cucumber and avocado with a nicely with a light horseradish sauce. Yummy.
Hubby had pasta fagioli which he said was super yummy, and steamed mussels marinara, also a big hit.
For entrees I had the veal Romana -I don't normally like veal, it has to be done just right otherwise it is chewy. This was very nice, cut easily with the side of my fork. IT was dressed with mushrooms, artichoke hearts in a wine sauce. I really liked it, although the amount of mushrooms was a bit of an overkill I felt. It was plated with two small pieces of broccoli and two carrot sticks and a small scoop of mashed potatoes. I thought the sides were the perfect portion to allow the main to shine. I did not finish as I wanted to save room for dessert.
My husband had veal with Peppers, Goat Cheese, Port Wine Sauce. I tasted his, and it was so good! I actually asked to trade but he was selfish and said no! lol
After eating, the staff cleared our plates and allowed us time to finish our wine. After wine we had dessert - pistachio gelato for hubby - yummy! and I had Italian cheesecake. We ordered two double espressos. We also had an after dinner cordial, Amaretto and my husband Sambuca.
Service was impeccable.
Food here is good. Just under seasoned, but perfect temperature on all of the proteins. Desserts and wine were fantastic.
