Have eaten here several times. Excellent food. Outdoor patio is beautiful and adds to the superb al fresco dining experience. Our server was, however, less than expected. Very disappointing. Luckily everything else was A+!
We've eaten here many times for lunch but this was the first time for dinner. Beautiful patio but we chose to eat indoors. Beet salad (with edible dirt!), frissee salad with white asparagus, crab cakes and trout all very good. (Even the edible dirt!) Lovely rooms. We recomment the restaurant to all visitors to SF.
This restaurant was recommended by a local friend. It was fantastic. We were a party of 6 and started outdoors in the patio of a very old and affluent family home. It was more of a plaza. As the evening turned windy they brought us indoors to our own room. The food was very good and Mark our server was appropriately attentive. Our lamb chops were perfectly cooked. While it was a bit more pricey than we wanted it was worth it. I will be back.
we had a very nice waitress who was very kind and gave us time to enjoy and relax!
food was excellent!!
It must have been an off night for Mark, our waiter. He took our drink order and then disappeared for 15 minutes while the bottles sat opened on the bar for 20 minutes. When we expressed our concern to the manager, he did his best to remedy the situation. However, Mark served dinner to 3 tables who had arrived after we'd been seated, before he brought our dinners. Even having spoken to the manager about our disappointment, Mark never apologized or made any effort to explain his lack of service. At the the very end of dinner, he brought us a complimentary bottle of San Pelegrino - we'd already finished our meals.
We've eaten at the Casa Sena 2 times before and had excellent service. Too bad it wasn't up to par this time.
The enchiladas are to die for! Great food, lovely outdoor atmosphere and good service. Highly recommend
Entrees came out 15 minutes apart - service was chaotic and staff indignant. Food usually better. Will go again because this was the first time in years both food and service were awful.
Very very good, but not great food. The patio is delightful, as a is the service
Delightful, beautifully presented food in a lovely setting. Service was excellent! My husband had the rack of lamb and I had the pink trout which we enjoyed. We would definitely return to La Casa Sena in Santa Fe.
Fun evening...food good-nice waiter
but No toilet paper in the bathroom. ( no excuse )--head waiter was very upset-& gave us a nice dessert.
Visiting from NYC. Lovely setting and servers. Food was delicious, drink was just right would def recommend and return
Started off ok, then our waiter forgot about us. We got appetizers & wine & he disappeared. After about 45 minutes & no food, no waiter, no refills, the manager walked over to check on us. Everyone around us were finishing their entrees - even though most were seated after us. Finally the manager said they lost our ticket. He was very apologetic, but we were ready to leave. Our meal was comped which helped some. We were so looking forward to this meal.
Beautiful setting. Wonderful food. Manager Laura is a gem!
This spacious restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio and bar area. It is well staffed and also surprisingly easy to find parking. The creative menu is very tasty and dining there was a pleasure. My friend and I were able to have a good conversation without straining to hear one another but we also were eating on the early side. I would go back again, either for lunch or dinner. It's a bit on the pricey side, but not out of line with what the other places in town are charging.
Probably one of my favorite restaurants for special occasions. Staff is always perfect with excellent choices.
Had Wasabi Lump Crab ;and Lobster salad. Could not taste the wasabi and the small handful of crab was not lump, but finally shredded. Only saving grace was outdoor patio dining. But that option is available at other nearby restaurants with better food.
Lovely outside seating by a fountain. Only 1 vegetarian entree, but it was super yummy (eggplant stuffed with quinoa & artichoke bits with romesco sauce.) The flavors were so intense it made me wish for a very simple side green veggie on the plate. My husband enjoyed his lamb dish, and salad was great.
Adjacent Cantina had live mellow jazz .
Our friends in Corpus Christi recommended, knowing we love live music. The singers were delightful, and the pianist absolutely outstanding, accompanying most tunes without the sheet music. The food was prepared perfectly. The Scottish salmon may have been the best salmon since an encounter in 1982. The elk tenderloin would be worth flying back from Texas. WE will be back! With family and friends.
Totally enjoyable meal. Great food, great service and perfect weather for eating in the courtyard. I had the BLT with avocado and bacon w chili, and it was spot on for lunch. My friends had salads and everyone was happy.
I have always loved Cafe Sena for it's lush outside ambience and delicious food. However... on this occasion the food was not up to Cafe Sena's usual quality. The waiter was rude and acted as if he was doing us a favor by taking our order. Three of us were served then the fourth came more than five minutes later. We were so disappointed we left a mere 10% tip.
Great spot in the middle of town. Outside dining is beautiful and the food is awesome.
Great patio, service, and food !!!! We will be back!
We had heard the food was very good and the patio was beautiful. Our dinner was delicious. Our big surprise was the amazing talent and music in the back room. What a fun surprise, we were so impressed by the quality of the singing. We felt like we were at a dinner show with exceptional singing by the waiters. They need to advertise and let people know that this room exist. It was a Saturday night and the place was almost empty. We enjoyed all the show tunes and felt lucky to have found this gem. It is hard to beleive they have so many talented people, serving your food and then they break into a song with piano back up. It is a real treat.
We make a habit of having our first evening meal at La Casa Sena each time we visit Santa Fe. It never disappoints. Good food, interesting menu, comforting ambiance. Next time we visit Santa Fe, we'll be back.
Food was fresh and well prepared
Great food and service
Nice, but expensive place to eat, as are most good restaurants in Santa Fe. Unfortunately, the restaurant has multiple people tending the same table, leaving room for error. We got our wine right away, and then waited for the bread which never came. My husband finally mentioned it to a waiter, who said the bread was in the oven. It was 7:30. Then our meal came, with the bread showing up a few minutes late. Not wanting our meal to be colder than it was, we had to let the bread sit until we finished eating.
Our first visit to this fine restaurant was not disappointing! Great food, fine service and a wonderful atmosphere! We'll go back next time we're in Santa Fe!
We eat at La Casa Sena about once per month. We love the ambiance , the food, and the service. Their Sunday Brunch is always outstanding and they have an excellent wine list.
Went for lunch and it was awesome. BLTA was fantastic. Do try their soups!
Nice food variety. Enjoyable lunch.
Good food. Surly, almost angry, service. Still tipped 20%...maybe they were having a really bad day.
Great service from an extremely talented staff.
Always a great experience to dine at La Cantina at La Casa Sena - the food is good and plentiful. It's the music and the servers who make the place incredible, and fun. We will return!
I ordered the trout and it was great! Excellent people working there.
It was great! Food was delicious! And we ate in the Cantina portion, so dined to Broadway showtunes. Great evening! great staff!
Would definitely go back!
The restaurant is located in a traditional adobe house in Santa Fe's old town district, the interior is classy. The food was ok but nothing special, besides the veggie entree (quinoa stuffed eggplant) which was really creative and well-prepared. Service was a bit disappointing - our waitress was very attentive to other tables, but pretty much ignored us. Maybe because we did not order wine from the extensive wine list... We wouldn't go there again - we had been to La Plazuela the day before and had a much better experience at the same price level.
We had two of the salads, silver coin margaritas, wine, and the ruby red trout. The food was outstanding, better than we remember from past visits. Ambience was outstanding as usual—beautiful Santa Fe style decor and very quiet. Service was prompt and accurate, but not at a level that we have experienced in the past, or that we would expect for this price point. The server was pleasant but did not display any in depth knowledge of the food or wine.
Great meal a drop notch service! Appreciated being seated on a quiet area where we could hear one another.
Food was good, margarita was very fine! Nice ambience...
