Date night with my son! Exceeded all expectations. Walking into the restaurant is a visual treat. Had delightful cocktails followed by an exquisite lamb entree that was to die for! Thank you for a wonderful evening, we’ll be back!
The lamb chops were fabulous as was the duck breast but the Frog's ls legs were very very chewy and kind of breaded. Would not have that again.
Always an enjoyable environment with wonderful food.
We had a lovely dinner at La Casa Sena. We had a table by the fireplace and it was quiet and we could hear our conversation! The food was very good. My husband had the enchiladas and I had duck and we both enjoyed our dinner. The restaurant is kind of tucked away inside a courtyard. You enter the courtyard from the street and it is in a far corner. I imagine it would be quite fun in warmer weather to sit outside. But we enjoyed our winter dinner by the fire a lot.
Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. The bathroom at 5pm appeared it hadn't been cleaned from the prior nights drunken party - it was that big of a disaster. My napkin also hadn't been properly laundered. I was expecting a nice restaurant and the waitress didn't appear to know much about the menu items, etc. Would recommend Sazon over this restaurant all day long.
2 of my party had excellent meals. I and the other party did not. The service was below standard. It was very disappointing because I have loved Casa Sena for years. I don’t like to give a bad rating but it was not a good experience as the host. A main dish item was credited but nevertheless the overall experience was lacking. Sad.
A nice experience with good food, a good table by the fireside on a cold evening. Good service and a large wine list with some reasonably priced selections.
Having been to La Casa Sena Cantina several times in the past and having enjoyed myself, I picked La Casa Sena as the restaurant to take my elderly friend (age 91) for lunch. In my reservation, I had requested easily accessible seats, due to her physical restrictions, and, when we arrived, we were taken to the "Garden Room," down a set of stairs, which was nice and quiet, but not the most easily accessible table. The service was exceptionally slow to the extent that, at one point, my aged fried went looking for our waitress. I might mention that there were only two other parties there besides ours, and our waitress actually mentioned how slow business was just then. Our reservation was for 1:30, and we finally left, at the earliest, by 3:30. The staff was actually quite pleasant when they could be found. I will not recommend La Casa Sena to anyone, and, if asked, will suggest a different establishment.
We had the perfect lunch of salmon Niçoise salad with beets and good stuff, plus delicious cod fish 'n chips.
Our server Maria was really great. We had nice quiet table near window and fireplace. It was an exceptional experience.
Thanks very much.
La Casa Sena has lovely atmosphere. Since winter weather is here we were seated by the kiva fireplace. We went for lunch the day after Thanksgiving, so it was not crowded. Mussels were delicious with enough spice but not too hot. We split the roasted brussel sprout/arugula/beet salad 3 ways, and it was perfect for lunch size. Green chile cheeseburger was tasty & enjoyed, and the poblano soup also was tasty. Overall a delightful lunch experience!
Great service. Very attentive and kind.
La Casa Sena is wonderful to entertain at. We introduced my sister-in-law to this beautiful restaurant and she was quite delighted with the New Mexican twists on the cuisine. I highly recommend.
The piped in music in the dining area left a lot to be desired.
Great ambience, inside and out.
The reservation system does not make it obvious that the reservation is not for the room with music.
there was not near the amount of singers/singing as there has been in the past and since that was the main reason we went we were highly dissappointed!
Beautiful spot in the plaza area with an excellent menu and drink/wine options. I ordered the NM Filet that was cooked at the desired cooking temperature (although came out room temp), but was one of the worst steaks I have had in years. I would have sent it back, but the service was very slow. Our server was awesome, but she was working some larger tables. The special soup was fair and the bread was nothing special. I had heard good things about this place from others in the past, but will stick to other fantastic places all in the same area.
Important to note that there is NO ENTERTAINMENT Sunday-Tuesday. Singing waitstaff is only Wednesday-Saturday.
Great food and great service.
I am vegan-there were no choices on the menu, which is not altogether unusual.
However, when I asked the waiter he said I can have a salad. Usually, in an expensive restaurant, the waiter will talk to the chef and come back to tell me options. I was with 3 other people who were ordering meat and fish-not a cheap table.
Furthermore, the fireplace which we sat besides because of the cold, burned until about 30 minutes before we were done eating. Nobody came back to add more logs-why in a fancy restaurant, would you just allow the fire to go out before your patrons are done eating?
The other 3 people liked their food. Me? I had a salad am unlikely to return unless I go for dessert. The oddest thing is that they list a vegan chocolate cake on the dessert menu.
Great experience. The show was fantastic, food divine and Service terrific. Take in the Show👍😊
So amazing!! Always worth a stop when in town! The Cantina and the staff treat you as family and the food is wonderful. Amazing wine list well priced
Nice end to a perfect day. The food was excellent.
La Casa Sena is always a must when in Santa Fe. I love the patio dining. The food is delicious and the service has always been great.
Most Excellent. A wonderful song selection. Loved, Annie, our waitress.
Fantastic Elk Tenderloin, Service was wonderful and I enjoyed it so much! Thank You
Third visit to the restaurant, and a disappointment once again. The reservation was made 45 days in advance and confirmed online and by phone, there was no preparation for our seating. We ended up next to the kitchen. Service attitude was uncommunicative to arrogant with low service delivery. Food presentation was above average, but the tasting quality was below average. The experience is just not worth the effort and expense any longer.
Decided to eat at the Cantina and hear the singing waiters. They were entertaining. However, the food was not good and there was a strange smell upon entering. The online menu looked interesting but few items were on the actual menu.
The best Chilean sea bass preparation I have had in years.
Nice place but we felt like we were shoved in a corner in the far end of the restaurant. Our trout was way over salted. Other than those things, very nice place.
Marvelous celebrating Phyllis’s Birthday lunch. Wonderful service, food, ambiance.
A Santa Fe favorite!
Our second visit - a varied menu with a fine selection of appetizers. Knowledgeable wait staff and excellent service without being intrusive. We will definitely go again next time we're in Santa Fe.
We went to all of the high end notable restaurants in Santa Fe. While all were good, the 6 of us each liked our dinners at this restaurant the best. AND it cost the least! Highly recommend!
Lovely meal - stayed as long as we wanted -no pressure.
Very bad experience. Put in back corner. Poor service. Never even got a meal after 1 hour I left. Very disappointed.
Lovely introduction to Santa Fe
It should make no difference if we are local- and we are- or visiting Santa Fe but we were never welcomed and left to feel as if we had interrupted the staff. We waited a good 5 minutes at the reception desk and the host never once smiled or indicated he was pleased to have us dine here. Our waiter was efficient and the food and wine was very good but dining should be a complete experience. The various servers could not bother to speak or smile and we were rushed out without dessert being offered. At one point a woman came by and locked windows near our table. Earlier this week we dined at Martin’s. We were made to feel welcome and will go back. We had a nice time visiting with our Well informed waiter. People were enjoying the evening and the welcoming atmosphere.
We have eaten at La Casa Sena for decades and at many family gatherings where we felt welcomed . But we will not rush back after our experience tonight. It was rather embarrassing for us to have taken our guests here tonight. The other tables - the restaurant was not busy-seemed to have a similar lackluster experience. Sad!
The restaurant was lovely, as was the service and ambiance. I would definitely dine there again. We came on a recommendation from a friend and they did not steer us wrong.
Outstanding location, food, drinks and entertainment. Great attraction for out-of-town guests and locals alike. Highly recommend!
