La Casa Sena Ratings and Reviews
Sunday early afternoon before Santa fe Symphony. Intimate service. Varied menu including surprising number of seafood choices. Prompt service but not rushed. Great food. Grand old building and courtyard. Thanks. Off to the concert on a sunwashed afternoon. Pura vida.
This is our very favorite restaurant in SANTA Fe & we always eat there when in town. When it’s warm outside the patio is perfect. On chilly days being next to the fireplace is perfect. Unfortunately the fire was not lit on the blustery winter night we were there but the lovely martini we had was warming. My husband had elk for the first time & loved it. I had the delicious stuffed eggplant. A wonderful meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
The service was excellent -- good care without feeling invaded. The ambiance of the restaurant is excellent. Quiet, there may have been music, but not loud and overpowering. The food was excellent. We stayed and talked together long after we finished lunch. Wonderful place!
Hostess refused to reseat our table in main dining area after we requested a seat that was not directly beside the kitchen entrance. 3 guests stared directly into kitchen when doors opened. All guests had waiters and noise from kitchen. Had reservations for 6 for a 40th birthday. Hostess rude. Unwilling to push 2 tables together even though room basically empty. Waiter very attentive food good but festive atmosphere dead in big side room.
We have eaten here twice. It’s a lovely restaurant with wonderful food. They were extremely helpful in giving advice about dishes. They indicated that the mussel starter was a very large dish—-easily entree size. Therefore we split the mussels and then split an entree which was perfect for us. The poached pear dessert was amazing.
Casa Sena has been a favorite since opening and we've dined there multiple times per year for decades. This was our first bad experience due to a cavalier waitress. I told her that I could eat no sucrose or fructose, and was highly specific about wanting to know ingredients in potatoes Obrien that accompanied my steak. She wouldn't tell me ingredients and said I could eat them. Well, they contained sweet potatoes and I had one bite, which made me I'll for 24 hrs. Extreme abdominal pain. I was angry with the waitress.
We had a wonderful dinner. The wine list is outstanding and our red was a very good value. The staff was attentive and friendly but we were not rushed. The grilled Elk was tender and delicious. The salad was colorful. We thought Casa Sena was better than a higher rated local restaurant. Highly recommend it!
We came in late and were seated quickly. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Friday night. The beet salad was very good, sea bass was excellent, and enchiladas were pretty good too. Good wine selection and nice atmosphere. Would go back and would recommend.
