La Casa Sena
Beautiful setting with great food. Especially enjoyed the Poblano soup and Caesar salad. Sit outside in the courtyard if the weather permits.
This goes on being our favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. Creative, delicious food, pleasant ambiance, great service.
Loved everything about La Casa Sena, especially the food! We all had different dishes and no one felt like sharing, although we did...
Outstanding lamb, trout and pork. Friendly but very professional server.
Nice quiet dinner. Excellent wine. Will return when in town.
I'm a local. This is one of Santa Fe's most reliable restaurant for beautifully presented, properly served (hot when meant to be hot, cold if to be cold), and absolutely flavorful the way hoped. Service is adequate-to-good, atmosphere very nice. Prices compare favorably with other area finer dining.
Quickly becoming a staple for me in Santa Fe. I started with a gaspacho which was wonderful. That setup the ponlano soup nicely. Their duck was moist and flavorful. Well Done!
My birthday dinner could not have gone better from my mojito “Cubano” to the mussel appetizer to the rack of lamb. Service was impeccable and the last day of summer ambience inspired....
We had business associates as guests for dinner and were happy with our experience as always at La Casa Sena. The patio was beautiful, the food and drink were exceptional, and Laura was attentive, friendly, and professional making our evening just right. Highly recommend this restaurant to all.
It was fine but nothing to return for. The meal had some solid flavors but mostly traditional. Duck was overcooked, no temperature taken. A member of my party found a marble in her food. They did take it off the check but no manager ever checked in. Server was pleasant. Patio was nice. Wine selection extensive, but not overly interesting. I don't know many places in the area, but compared up bigger cities/restaurant scenes, I wouldn't try it again and would seek out more interesting places for the price point.
This was the second time we’ve eaten at La Casa Sena and it is always excellent. It’s become one of our go to places whenever we are in Santa Fe
Everything was fantastic about this experience! The trout dish had a Mediterranean influence and was filled with flavor, but not so much that it masked the fish. Great margaritas and service was the best we’ve had so far in Santa Fe.
This was a special WINE DINNER, and it was truly extraordinary. My only complaint was that the shrimp appetizer was VERY SKIMPY. Several of the people at our table were given 2 small shrimp while I and two others only received one tiny shrimp! The Scallops were delicious and the beef tenderloin was fabulous. The chocolate dessert was a work of art. The Orin Smith wines were well paired and generously served. A truly memorable evening and worth every cent of the extremely high price.
The interior courtyard is a very pleasant place to enjoy lunch/brunch. We were a little unsure as we entered from a passageway by the wine store. This sported views of empty crates, dirty dishes, and a broom as our first impression. Once past this neglected bar area, inside was very nice. Our food was very good.
Our server, Rosa, was exceptional. Rosa mixed the perfect combination of friendliness, knowledge, timing and attentiveness, making our visit outstanding. Please thank her.
Cozy patio for dining al fresco. Filet and Duck entrees were outstanding.
The point of this place is listening to the music in the Cantina. When you make a reservation they don't tell you if the Cantina has been booked or not, so it's a mystery as to whether this place is simply an OK restaurant or you will get the added value of the music. The patio area is in grave need of improvement. The seating is old and looks dirty - actually it is dirty. The lighting is inconsistent which makes it hard to read the menu. If it's just food you want, there are plenty of places that are more interesting.
A hidden gem! This was one of our favorite places in Santa Fe! The beet salad was outstanding and the courtyard was an absolutely perfect place to dine. I want to go back soon!
We’ve been goin here for over thirty years. Most recently as a year ago. The restaurant has declined in a major way under the new ownership. Why would you buy an iconic restaurant to run it into the ground?
The service was indifferent and the wait staff left for long periods without checking in. The food was bland and not particularly creative. The hamachi crudo was amazing and fresh. However, my fiancé had the ruby trout which had little taste and was served on a bed of gooey risotto with feta. I had the elk which was also fresh, but not well seasoned. I eat wild game frequently and this is not what I expected. I had asked for it to be served with the mushroom polenta. It was sent out with whipped potatoes, and I am allergic to white potatoes, which is why I asked for the change. The sangria on the other hand was refreshing and nicely garnished with fresh fruit. Overall it was disappointing and a real letdown as we had both been looking forward to the evening and expected much better.
We love La Casa Sena and try to go there for all our important dinners. It is so lovely to sit on the patio and dine. The energy is so peaceful and beautiful and the chef always creates interesting and delicious meals. Five stars!
Nice patio for dining, excellent beet salad.
Wonderful, talented wait staff at La Cantina!! Will visit again and again at every opportunity!
Ambiance lovely. Food was great.
Fabulous meals! We had the elk terderloin and diver scallops, both were wonderful. The singing wait staff did a great job in both service abd vocal performance
Used to really enjoy this place but this time not so much. Really miss the trout cooked in clay. The trout version this year was drenched in oil and parts of it were not cooked thoroughly. My husband said his dish wasn't anything special.
I usually enjoy a brunch at La Casa Sena but the service was very slow and tables that arrived after we ordered were served before us. My food wasn't warm and those tables were very noisy.
Beautiful outdoor dining on a warm Santa Fe evening. Our party of 4 shared appetizers (Spring rolls, Mussels, and Roasted Beets). Of note for this reviewer was the roasted beet appetizer.....wonderfully earthy flavor complemented by burrata. However, the consensus for the other diners was for the mussels, deliciously tender in a fragrant broth perfect for dipping with the accompanying bread. Two of the diners shared the rack of lamb entree while the other two diners enjoyed elk tenderloin and duck confit. The rack of lamb was outstanding; perfectly cooked and coated with pistachios and plated with a decadent truffle polenta. The elk tenderloin was a perfect medium rare complemented by a wonderful mushroom cognac sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. The duck confit was probably the biggest surprise of the night served with cumin-chipotle black bean sauce; the flavor was very southwest and delicious. Sampled deserts included a chocolate bomb (outstanding), buttermilk panna cotta (great flavor but set a little too firm), and sorbet (refreshing)
Two bottles of some pricey wine took this meal to the very expensive side but there are more reasonable wine offerings available that would have made this meal less costly. With the cheapest entree at $17, many may still find this to be an extravagance but it is Santa Fe and most restaurants will tend to be pricey; and, in this diner's opinion, the price is worth the quality in preparation, presentation, and service (which is attentive without being intrusive). If you lucky enough to have outdoor seating, you will also have a wonderful experience under the stars of a warm New Mexico evening
We have enjoyed La Casa Sena before and have always enjoyed it. We really appreciate the setting. The food is good and the service too. We would recommend it.
Always enjoy La Casa Sena. Excellent service and delicious food. The dish size is ample enough that you can share with another if you wish. It was a beautiful Santa Fe day, slight breeze and mid seventies at lunch.
The patio is very special BUT if fails to compensate for food that was WAY too spicy. When the peanut sauce makes your lips burn there’s a problem. Good service, perfect weather so sitting outside was very nice BUT when my wife got up the next morning with an upset stomach from the food it’s off our list for now.
When I talked to the hostess about our reservation I was told La Casa Sena did not allow corkage of customer owned wine because it was against the law in Ne Mexico. I researched this and found out it is legal in New Mexico, but it is up to the individual restaurant whether or not they provide corkage. I am very disappointed a highly reputable restaurant would not be honest on such a matter. While I am fine with you not providing corkage, I will tell you I considered your wine prices to be incredibly over-inflated. We decided to pass on ordering a bottle.
The food was excellent, and our waitress was outstanding. Our visits to your restaurant have always been enjoyable, however the incident above left a sour taste in my mouth.
A Great Patio and Margaritas with excellent food that you don't see everyday.
Beautiful outdoor patio
Excellent food, great singing a piano playing. A hidden gem in Santa Fe.
What a great place!! We sat in the outside plaza, which was very pretty and relaxing. Food, service and atmosphere were perfect!! I would definitely go back.
We arrived early for a 6 PM reservation and were seated immediately outside. Our waiter, Sean, was excellent and the food was prepared perfectly and very tasty. While the tables filled up including a table with a group of 20, we could still enjoy the ambiance of eating outside.
Good food at reasonable price for destination type restaurant. Service was competent. We enjoyed ourselves.
We have been recurring patrons of La Casa Sena for over 25 years. We have always included this fine restaurant on our agenda every time we visit Santa Fe. We have easily visited over 40 times in the last several years. We live almost 800 miles away, but it is always worth the drive to be able to enjoy a fine dining experience like that offered at La Casa Sena.
We have never been disappointed with our visits to La Casa Sena and will recommend it to any and all. Thanks to the staff and the master chef!!!!
Birthday dinner for my wife. Reserved an outdoor table. We had the trout, sea bass and elk. All were outstanding!!! Sean was our server and was great!
We had a wonderful brunch. La Casa staff accommodated our needs and requests and we loved the food. The cocktails were also amazing.
