Beautiful patio! Wonderful food!
We had lunch on the patio and the food was lovely. The trout on green chile risotto was fabulous. The salsa, pick, and guacamole were fresh and flavorful.
Excellent service, lovely ambiance.
Highly recommend lunch or brunch.
Several years ago we ate here and loved it. The food was terrific and it was romantic. We were looking forward to our recent visit. I was given the wrong menu and nothing I wanted was on the real menu. I ordered enchiladas which arrived and Iooked like a plate of melted cheese. The sauce was tasty, but the presentation was a fail. The salad and drink were excellent. My husband ordered lamb and the plate looked beautiful. He said is was ok, not spectacular.
It is still very pretty, although there were flies that were pesky. Not sure anything could be done about that.
Santa Fe is very busy this week, but this is a high season they should have been prepared for.
Overall, with all the restaurants in Santa Fe, I would give it another chance if I happened to be in the area and there wasn’t another placeI I wanted to try.
We chose La Casa Sena for an anniversary because of the beautiful outdoor patio. The setting was perfect but almost everything else was a disappointment. The main course was OK but nothing special, no special flavors, nothing that interesting. The desserts were rather mediocre...the strawberry rhubarb option was completely tasteless while the coconut mille-feuille was slightly better but nothing like a mille-feuille (also known as a Napoleon). We did not order any wine but started out with Margaritas that were excellent. We waited quite a bit when we arrived as the hostess was nowhere to be seen and the seating process seemed somewhat disorganized. Service during our meal was fine. In the end, we enjoyed the patio and made the best of it but we would not recommend La Casa Sena for anything else besides the lovely setting.
A gem off a restaurant
Nice patio for brunch. Great food. Roxana was a great server, has good knowledge of the menu. Recommend the French toast.
Vacation in Santa Fe and we always go to Casa Sena first.
Wonderful retreat away from the main attractions and have a relaxing and awesome meal in a beautiful setting. Make time for this place!
I was really confused by the service on this visit. On previous occasions both the food and the service were excellent. This time the server seemed only helpful to the point where she went through her standard routine.
We selected a bottle of which which turned out not to be in stock. When she came back she said "I hope you picked a back-up" and handed us the wine menu. I asked for a recommendation for something similar and she just stood there then mumbled something about finding someone and left. When she came back she asked if we had made a decision.
One of our party told her he really wanted to try the Elk but could not eat mushrooms and she said, so pick another sauce. He asked what else there was and she said anything on the menu and stood there. When we asked if they could make the demiglace without mushrooms she said no. really?
For the price point and the quality of the food I really expect more attentive service, particularly when they are out of things.
Mark was extremely helpful in explaining menu items and especially in picking wines, bringing a number of samples to help us make our selections. Great food, outstanding service.
Pretty patio.....cozy indoor dining room.......guacamole pasty and not very fresh. Rather bland really. Drinks good.....chicken enchiladas tasty but a bit over spiced fo my taste and I enjoy spicy foods....nicois salad was beautifully presented but lacked in overall taste.......setting made up for the few misses. A nice place to relax.
Perfect location. Food is decent and good bar. I’ve been many times and always enjoy the atmosphere.
One of our favorite spring or summer dining experiences. The courtyard is beautiful!
You are my favorite dining spot in Santa Fe. I do wish you would bring back your red-wine sangria, the best ever! But I never have any complaints about anything. Thank you for being such a class act!
Delicious dinner in a beautiful setting and a great server, Paul. This is just one of the real gems in Santa Fe. The outdoor setting is so beautiful. The food quality is wonderful.....perfectly cooked fish, a delightful stuffed eggplant and yummy local roasted coffee. Can't wait to go back.
A wonderful summer evening in Santa Fe dining on the patio. The food was delicious and the seating outstanding. We love having friends and family enjoy this place with us!!
The setting was very nice. It was good food and good service.
a THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE MEAL WITH A RATHER LIMITED MENU
Casa Sena has my favorite patio garden in the summer. The food is delicious, but a bit overpriced. The margaritas are outstanding! Service is often slow
Love eating on the patio but watch your footing with the tree roots, steps, and cobblestones
Although the food is consistently very good at Casa Sena, along with a wonderful ambience out on the patio, the service on this occasion was some of the worst we've encountered.
Our table's consensus was that Autumn, our server, was very slow, oblivious, and rude. The bus boy, though friendly enough, was so poorly trained, he was clueless as to his job description.
I've worked in the restaurant business for years, and save for the food, this experience bordered on dismal.
I have been to La Casa Sena many times, for many years. It has always been a "must go" dining experience when I have friends visiting Santa Fe and I have recommended it to everyone who visits. The atmosphere is perfect for lunch, the service is great, and usually the food is fantastic. However, we must have found it on an "off" day because the food was not great. The 'carne' in my friend's sandwich was tongue, not what was described in the menu and not something he would order again. The gazpacho of the day lacked flavor but the chips and guacamole were very good. Another friend had the duck confit sopas and those were the best thing anyone at the table had. I hope this was a rare occasion of not being able to rate La Casa Sena as the best place in Santa Fe.
Gorgeous patio and wonderful ambience but be careful what you order. Some of the menu is very overpriced and you get virtually nothing for it. The Caesar salad had 5 pieces of Romaine lettuce for $15.00! Other dishes like the salmon salad were wonderful with generous ingredients.
Mark was a great waiter and owner visited our table. Ask about how spicy the NM flavor is and you won’t go wrong. The trout, ceaser salad, and rack of lamb were amazing.
This was our first time. I ordered the enchiladas and my wife, the lobster-stuffed chicken. As an appetizer, we shared a bowl of the poblano soup — this was the highlight of the meal. The soup was thick with a rich, pepper taste. Fantastic! My wife’s dish had maybe 2 ounces of lobster— tiny flecks that we’re barely visible. Because the stuffed breast was sliced into four chunks, it was easy to view the stuffing, which was minimal. The menu declared it came with asparagus, baby corn and black truffle mushrooms. None of these were present. There was one Brussels sprout that was chewy. When we asked about the missing items, our server went to the kitchen with the menu because “he was new.” When he returned, he said the truffle was truffle oil, and the asparagus was ground up in the stuffing. The enchiladas were average. After a little back and forth, they did comp the chicken. The ambiance was amazing on the patio. Massive umbrellas and a storm was rolling in, so very pleasant.
Interesting menu, very nice to eat out in the garden.
Food has deteriorated and prices have gone up. What happened to those muffins that once were served with every meal???
I so appreciate that Casa Sena stays open through the day and even when they stop serving lunch they keep the bar menu available what includes a few good lunch size items. My husband and I eat our main meal of the day around 2:00 or 3:00 which can make dining out difficult! We don't eat an evening meal, but we love to dine out for lunch!
We appreciate any restaurant in Santa Fe (our home town) that serves a good "dinner" type menu through out the day.
Otherwise, lovely ambiance in the outdoor court yard during the summer months. The gardens get a bit messy sometimes, but I imagine keeping the grounds groomed can be difficult with the summer monsoon season in full swing.
Our waitress Autim was nowhere to be found. Had to ask water server for extra
Waitress did not offer any choices for menu items for my 10 year old grandaughter. Loved the patio but server dampened our celebration
Have eaten here before several times but was a little disappointed with both the food and especially the service. They need to step,up their game. Want a great meal in Santa Fe?.....go to Maize.
A wide range of creative dishes that go well beyond just northern new mexican cuisine. Attentive service.
We loved eating on the patio. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was a little pricey but the portions were plentiful.
The most beautiful garden setting in a perfect Santa Fe location. The food has never been great but now it is truly horrible. Why can’t they hire a good chef? There are so many in Santa Fe.
The courtyard, with its big, beautiful trees, is something very special. Nice wine list and my husband and I loved our meals. He had the stuffed poblano dish and I had the trout. A lovely lunch.
We just went for dessert and drinks, both were delicious and the desserts were beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Only thing that was not perfect was most seating was outside and it rained and not enough cover to prevent getting wet
Our waiter and the wait staff were accommodating and excellent.
The food was plentiful and tasteful!
The table for 2 was smallish and the chairs were difficult to sit into because of being low to the ground. We had to ask for cushions. I also had to climb over the umbrella base to get into my chair which was difficult to move.
They have a limited menu but what they offer is very high quality. Excellent presentation, excellent food that tasted good, and excellent service. The ambiance is simply outstanding--the outdoor patio is a perfect place to spend time with friends while eating really great food. Wine list was good as well.
Service/Waitress wasn’t very great. When it started to rain she asked if we wanted to move to an umbrella, we said yes. She then went to another table and helped them.
A second waiter helped more than her.
Excellent across the board
The setting is unbeatable which is the primary reason I would recommend it to a friend. The drinks were fantastic. The food was decent but not great.
Had a wonderful lunch at La Casa Sena with a friend while on vacation in Santa Fe. We ate outside on the patio near the fountain. The atmosphere was charming. We both ordered the Salade Niçoise made with salmon and it was delicious.
