La Casa Pasta
As you open the doors to La Casa Pasta, your senses will be stimulated with the aromas of freshly-pressed pasta, delicately made sauces and warm, baked breads fill the air. Critics will agree that the tastes are even more satisfying.
Set in classic Italian decor, our marble floors, breathtaking art and stone statues representing our heritage will surely impress you and your guests.
Chef and Owner Giuseppe Martuscelli's roots and knowledge of fine foods and wines originated in the town of Santa Maria Di Castellabate near Salerno, Italy. Giuseppe came to America with the Italian Navy in 1967 and returned to stay in 1973, settling in Newark, Delaware to open La Casa Pasta in 1978.
Since then, he has made it his goal to serve only the most authentic Northern and Southern Italian foods. Each year, he travels back to his homeland and beyond to learn new recipes and import ingredients not to be found in the states.
Met friends for dinner on a Friday evening. Very busy, hence a bit nosier, with graduation celebrations. Yet, service was prompt and food was excellent. We all had something different from the menu and we all were very satisfied. Adult beverages were also very good.
Reserved a table for Mother's Day. The place was busy, but our waiter took good care of us, keeping our glasses full and checking in on us. The food was very good. It was my first time in their establishment and I would definitely go there again.
This is my favorite restaurant. Friendly, and the food is so good. If you like Italian Food, it is the place to go.
Our server did not give us the appropriate attention needed for a party of 8, we saw that he spent more time with the party less than ours in another room. He did not check back to see how we liked the meal. We ordered salmon, Alfredo chicken, and pasta and vegetables. Our entrees arrived about 60 minutes after ordering. and some orders were not correct. The manager was polite and adjusted our meal accordingly.
I don't know if this was because it was Mother's day but that was not an experience I would recommend to a Friend.
1. The food was over priced based on what was given and the quality.
2. For an Italian Restaurant, the Sauce looks like it came from a can.
3. The service was marginal. The server forgot simple requests more than once while we were there. I had to remind her. On a couple occasion she put the food down on the table with force like it was burning her hands but it was not. The quality of the Veal was questionable.
I'm surprised the level from the last time I went there about over 10 years ago.
The food was good, not as good as it usually is. It was not really seasoned. The service was great but I could have gone elsewhere for Mother's Day.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Altogether, a great evening dining with friends.
Waiter was very helpful, polite, and attentive. Very good experience
Consistently great food. Fine dining in a beautiful dining room. Friendly, gracious service.
As usual, food was excellent.
Both the soups and entrees were excellent. Good Chianti also.
As always, the food and service are excellent. They truly understand how a restaurant should be run. Their Italian food is delicious!
Love the food and service here! Many items to choose from, they even used wheat pasta that I asked for.
Very reliable and consistently good Northern Italian. Always generous servings and the house made San Marzano sauce is excellent - particularly for a larger restaurant. The Pescatore has one of the most generous amounts of seafood of any restaurant and the gelato is always good.
One of our favorite places to go, but last night the food wasn't our normal excellent meal. I'll still keep going, but I'm aittle disappointed in the meal. The staff and restaurant ambiance is excellent!
We enjoy La Casa Pasta whether it’s a dinner date out or holiday or special occasion. Food is exceptional and never disappoints. My favorite dish is the Seafood Pescatore and my husband’s the Chicken Parmesan. We were introduced to this restaurant by our son and his wife before we moved to Newark several years ago. The best Italian food in the area.
La Casa Pasta never disappoints! Our server Giovanni was excellent. Wonderful experience
We are frequent diners at this restaurant. Usually, we have an excellent experience. This must have been an off night. Our reservation was at 7 pm. Our dinner order was not taken until 7:45. Our drink order wasn't taken until 7:25 or so. People seated after us were eating their dinner before our order was taken. So, service was poor. I ordered one of the specials. My chicken was very dry, but the sauce was very tasty. I did tell our server about the chicken. This will not deter us from going to this restaurant and we highly recommend it. We just will ask for a different server.
Was a very nice Birthday dinner!
Great food, great well trained staff
La Casa Pasta is a wonderful place to go for fine, fun Italian food.
Food was phenomenal and our waiter Connor was excellent! Very personable. Service was wonderful; quick and tasty.
Restaurant was clean and great ambiance.
Highly recommend it!!
The linguini and clams were excellent. We had reservations, and as soon as we walked in, the female owner said, "Put them at table 5." Now I don't know if that was a good table or not, but my seat was facing the wall the whole time. Not good.
I was celebrating my son's birthday. The service was prompt. The staff was very accommodating and attentive, and the food was great!
Nice wine selection. My Mom's lobster ravioli and veggies were delicious. My flounder stuffed with crab imperial was not that good. There was more crab imperial to fish and the 2 pieces of shrimp were not cooked fully. The dessert was delicious and service was fantastic.
Service was awesome.
Food is always hot and served to perfection.
Great staff along with great food....WOW! We are always treated like family when we go, and the chef actually makes me something that is not on the menu! We made a reservation and we were seated at one of our favorite tables. We always meet nice people when we dine at La Casa Pasta!!!
Great as always! Wish we lived closer and could dine there more frequently.
Shared a special meal with our son and his fiance. Our food was extremely good, the service was outstanding, and we enjoyed our meal very much. Our server was friendly, very helpful, and did not at any time make us feel rushed, in spite of the fact that she was also managing a very large group in the next room. The restaurant was quiet when we were there, but it was also not crowded at all.
I have not been to La Casa Pasta in many years and I enjoyed this visit very, very much.
Saturday night. 745 reservation. No issues sat right down. Server very attentive and super friendly. Food was served timely. Hit delicious. Authentic Medium busy night no wait. Other issues with reviewers seemed to be when the restaurant is unprepared for a busy night. Call ahead
this is a great restaurant with wonderful food and ambiance. I suggest this to anyone who is looking for good Italian food
Have dined here prior. Good Italian food. Service was good , ambience good.
The food was superb. Second only to my visit to Italy. The environment is lovely and the service was excellent. Even when the restaurant lost power due to a pretty bad storm, we laughed and ate by candlelight. Everyone was very happy that the power loss was after the food was served! I would gladly go there again and eat in the dark!
Nice place with great service and good food. Family meal on Saturday night and although crowded, did not feel that way. Juliana was an excellent server. Will definitely come back again.
They have gluten free pasta - hopefully working on gluten free bread
Great food, have not had a bad meal here. Make sure we stopped here every time we make a trip to Delaware. Homemade pastas are unbelievable.
Great food and great, knowledgeable and friendly service!
Service by Kay was excellent. Really enjoyed the carpaccio appetizer however the a was disappointed with the Dolce Vita and molten chocolate cake. Dolce had great flavors but the dish it was more sauce than pasta. The molten chocolate cake had no molten filling and was not moist. This was returned but it was not the best I’ve ever eaten.
I will go back and try other menu items and home the experience is better.
We have been to la Casa pasta several times and they NEVER disappoint us. I have yet to be unhappy with anything I have ordered off the menu. If You're not sure what to order, go with the Veal, it's out of this world!
Very good food and attentive service. I have only been here for dinner, but definitely want to try lunch.
