While the food was pretty good, I was not fully satisfied after my meal. Dishes didn't have quite enough flavor. Service was not spectacular. Noise was a little excessive and some of the two person tables were a little close together. Ice cream and churros for dessert was the one saving grace!

My girlfriends and I have a standing dinner date once a month and La Casa De Pedro is one of our favorite spots. Food is always great. We shared the nachos with the pulled pork on it as a starter. I loved the dish so much I ended up ordering another order of nachos as my main dish!! We shared the Churros with vanilla ice cream that was out of this world. Our server was awesome and took great care of us.

Food was excellent, from pork Osso Bucco to chorizo with ice cream for dessert. Prices not cheap but no expensive: entrees in high teens to low 20's. Service was casual yet attentive. Beer list wide ranging. If you're going to a performance at New Rep, this is the place to go before the show!

Another option you should have related to the occasion is "Pre-theatre dinner." The location right next to the New Rep Theatre is excellent, and the servers are very good about helping us be finished in time for the start of the show.

One annoying practice is the requirement that early arrivers in a party wait to be seated until all members are there, even when it's early (our reservation was 5:00 PM on Monday), and there are plenty of empty tables. We are tired from long days of work and want to sit down and relax with a drink.

Our party was comprised of 2 couples - we had tickets for the New Rep , and this restaurant is adjacent to the theatre so it was perfect. We were all pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was! We all ordered something different and all of us were extremely happy with our choices. Waiter was very professional, appeared when needed but was otherwise discreet. The only negative was parking - many of the parking spaces are "reserved". The 2 handicap spaces were taken. We had to park pretty far back - luckily we found a handicap spot at the other end of the street because we would have been much farther if we had not - again, many "reserved" spots.

We often eat at Casa Pedro before going to theater at the New Rep. It's ideal for that, convenient and generally good.

My husband and I picked La Casa De Pedro as it was next door to the New Repertory Theatre where we were seeing a play at 8 pm. We love Mexican, and so South American food sounded intriguing. The ambiance was great--lighting was low, with lots of plants. With our Open Table reservation we were seated promptly. Our server was attentive and informative. We enjoyed a flight of Tequila, Margarita, Black Bean & Cheese Quesadilla, and Steak Tips. Loved the yuca, rice and plantain sides! While I wouldn't rave about the food overall, the experience was positive, and great for a date night out.

Our appetizers were delicious, the fried calamari and garlic shrimp. Unfortunately, our main entrees were all too salty. My husband and I have been here on other occasions and really enjoyed the food. However, the food was especially salty on this visit. My mother-in-law likes salty food, so she was okay with it. I would return but ask for no salt on the entrees.

Another terrific meal at Casa De Pedro. The Pork Osso bucco is so good that I am hard pressed to order something else. The garlic shrimp appetizer was great as were the nachos. The shrimp Kristofer was delicious again but they didn't include the coconut when we asked to take the leftovers home . even though we were stuffed one of the guys wanted coffee and dessert well I have to say that the CHURROS were to die for. The tabe we had for 6 was comfortable but awkward and the waiter had to circumnavigate the restaurant to go from 1 side to the other.
They also make very good ( if pricey) Margharitas

Over all just a great spot and when the weather warms up the patio is also great!

the meal appeared "mass" prepared and possibly microwaved or reheated. Used to eat at original casa Pedro.Possibly it was the intimacy of a smaller place ; but I believe the food was more authentic and certainly much tastier. The bar was very pleasant and the drinks well mixed. Unfortunately not worth repeating the culinary experience.

We keep trying this restaurant b/c we wanted it to be wonderful and delicious, but after four times, we are giving up. This most recent time we ate outside (only two other tables were occupied there) and from the moment we sat down things were not right. The waitress, although pleasant when addressing us, was usually absent from sight; I had to ask another server three times to get her and after the food was served (by another server) she disappeared. I later saw her both in the bathroom and the kitchen "fixing" her hair. We also didn't get our check so we had to go to the hostess to pay our tab.
On to the food - terrible! Partly b/c everything we were served was close to ice cold. I'm sure, since it was a long time between the time we ordered and the time we were served, it sat waiting but I would think it would have been under a warmer. In addition to being cold, there was an excess of oil on several dishes (and cold oil is even more yucky than warm oil). The plantain chips tasted like they were right out of a Frito-Lay bag. The calamari might have been good, but it was the coldest of all the dishes.
I love the idea of a Venezuelan restaurant in the suburbs, esp. b/c we frequently go to the New Rep right next door, but we are certainly finished giving it a second (and third, etc) chance.

Came as the crowds were leaving. Bar service at the table was excellent but slow. Again, probably the shift change, people, checking out etc. after the crowds left, the music kicked up a pace and the dancing began.

Menu huge and specials looked great. Only complaint: salads had too much cos and not enough of the rest of the good stuff.

Did wonder if our delicate stomachs the next day were related to the meal, or the Hendricks martini with Jalapeño.

Went for brunch. Had the huevos rancheros which was good but my friend's breakfast quesadilla looked better with more elements to it being served with fried plantains and black beans. 3 varieties of mimosas available. I had the traditional one that was very good

This was not a good experience. The food (bacalao) was overly spicy although the menu didn't warn it was spicy. The white sangria tasted like hard liquor although the menu only listed wine in the ingredients. We were charged $35 for the white sangria, although that is the price for champagne version and ours was supposed to be $30. At first the setting was quiet enough to talk but then a band started playing and it was impossible to visit with our friends who we don't see very often. The music would have been nice if that had been the purpose of our visit but it was overpowering otherwise!

I have eaten at Casa de Pedro many times prior to attending the theater. This past Saturday was very disappointing. The only thing good was eating outside. We were seated at 6:25pm. We were not served our food until 45 minutes after we ordered. My fish, although cooked, was barely lukewarm. The service was very poor, although the wait staff was pleasant.
I was very disappointed.
