La Casa De Isaac & Moishe
La Casa de Isaac and Moishe’s Restaurant is the second Mexican restaurant established in Highland Park by the Nava family from Huitzuco, Guerrero, Mexico. As family owned and operated establishments, the Nava family has brought some unique Mexican dishes to Chicago’s North Shore. Isaac’s Mother’s Favorite Enchiladas – a recipe developed by their mother, Florencia – continues to be a customer favorite. New specialty items are added continually with an emphasis on local favorites from their home region. The Nava family maintains a strong commitment and loyalty to the community by offering unique Mexican dishes with excellent service. They appreciate the support and patronage of their customers.
Start off your week on a positive note! Margarita Monday, $3 Each!
The has to be the very best up-scale Mexican restaurant on the North Shore. Don't miss it if you like Mexican food. Everything is fresh and delicious.
I eat a lot of Mexican and South American food. In every respect this place was outstanding. My entire party felt as I did- authentic high quality Mexican in a pleasant warm setting at very reasonable prices!
I have enjoyed the efforts of these brothers and family for years. Isaacs Mothers enchiladas may tank among the beet I have ever had. Great place that we love.
Delicious food, plenty of choices and good service
Had brunch with a friend. Sat outside. Staff are friendly. Food and Palomas are amazing.
Delicious food and great service!
The best Mexican food on the Northshore. Excellent Guacamole, as are the Chili Rellenos.
I will still recommend, but this was our worst experience. We have been several times, but brought some first timers who will not be back. Food came out very slow (restaurant was NOT crowded) and service was non-attentive.
We always enjoy eating here. Food is always wonderful and presented beautifully.
Outstanding food, great service. This place is outstanding! Highly recommend!!
Just OK- nothing special about the food. Our server made us feel rushed throughout the meal.
The food was very good. It’s typically tasty, fresh Mexican. We expected to a dining experience and food with a more Jewish flare.
Food and service were very good. Margaritas were some of the best we have ever had.
Mamas enchiladas verdes with chicken are 4, no sides like rice, it's filling though.
Excellent guacamole and the salsa was really special, not to hot, with an very good flavor, some of the best!
Have done date nights, family get togethers as well as surprise birthday party for over 50 people.
Staff, service, food, drinks, parking are great!
What a great place. Food is excellent and we are picky. Got a Christmas reservation last minute. Great fried ice cream and fundido
Thank you for being open on Christmas day- my mom and I loved our lunch and our waiter, although quite busy, was attentive and very kind. Food was authentic and extremely affordable. Definitely will be back!
Never had a bad meal or experience here. Their food and salsas are the best! We try to go at least once a month.
We went for Sunday brunch. Both the breakfast and lunch menus had lots of good choices at very reasonable cost. Food and service we excellent and the noise level was low so we could talk easily.
Best Mexican food in Illinois! Everything is fresh and very well made. Tasting delicious.
Despite having made a reservation well in advance via Open Table, we still had to wait 20+ minutes to be seated. Our waiter was big on promises (to being our drinks, bring our dessert, and bring the check) but slow on delivering on those promises. Grrr!
Even though we had reservations we had to wait 25 minutes. They were very disorganized. They need a hostess that isn’t 13
The service was slow. Our table never wasn’t ready. We had to sit in a booth, even though we arrived early. Never got a senior discount.
Food was good - Salmon Goat Cheese Burrito was unique and fresh but the service was questionable. Also...we were seated near the kitchen area and every time an employee "shook" open a large paper bag for carryout orders, it sounded like a gunshot. Not very calming or enjoyable.
Isaac & Moishe are the most genuine hosts on the North Shore. They are kind, thoughtful and caring toward every customer that walks in, regular or first-timer. The food is solid Mexican, and the chefs are very accommodating. Love it - love them.
Grossly understaffed. Our waitress disappeared for 45 minutes after we finished our meal. Had to get a dessert menu from another waitress. 20 minutes later, nobody came around to take our order. In the meantime, there's an entrance full of people with reservations who cannot get seated. Finally had to get up and ask someone to bring our check because it didn't look like anyone was coming to our table. This is the second time we're having a poor experience here. Will not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone. And this was our lunchtime favorite! :-(
Great food and atmosphere. Always a good experience.
Great dining experience! Service was fast and friendly. We were not rushed. Food was terrific. Definitely will go back again.
We have been long time fans of "Casa" due to the food and, of course, the warm wait staff (including Moishe). This time we brought some friends who had a taste for good Mexican food. We were delighted that they were delighted!! We always enjoy one of the salmon entrees, either the burrito or the enchaladas. Our friends did as well, and one had the chile relleno which he devoured. So...kudos in order, and we'll see you soon!
Great food! Great for gluten free and plenty of vegetarian options
We were the only group there at 5 and had. Another event at 6:30 2 miles away . We were late. The service was awful b cause the staff was eating their dinner in the main room. We couldn’t order our drinks or even get a menu without asking multiple times I have been to this restaurant before and was very disappointed .
We made a reservation on open table and the restaurant was closed when we arrived!!! How can this happen open table?
This is my go to spot for great Mexican food. Superior quality and great service, always!
The breakfast was fabulous. I had blueberry blintzes that were fresh and delicious. They had a fresh blueberry sauce mixed with fresh blueberries on top and two perfectly poached eggs. Service was wonderful the meal was wonderful. I’m rather picky about my coffee but I thought I would try a cup of coffee and it was fabulous. I’m not really a flavored coffee person I believe this had some cinnamon in it but it was perfect. Very much enjoyed eating here.
After being seated we were ignored by the staff . We left 15 minutes later. This is the second time this has happened at this restaurant. We will not be returning.
Excellent, attentive service, colorful decor, delicious food, a menu with something for everyone, convenient free parking
We ate outside, with beautiful flowers surrounding. Unfortunately, there were many flies and bugs. Perhaps citronella candles on the tables would help.
Great outdoor dining a short walk from where we live. Friendly service. Great food choices that are as close to authentic Mexican as you can get outside of Mexico. Fabulous Margaritas and Mojitos. Decent choice of beers. is will be a regular mid week dinner spot for us.
Even in winter, there is plenty of parking and the interior is nice.
Been going there since they opened. Never disappointed.
We used to love this place. Were there several weeks ago and it was great. This time, we had the worst server I have ever had. Waited forever for our dinner. Everyone around us was served. When we asked for the check she brought both food and checks to everyone but it. We finally had to ask again and it was not fast. Not running back. It’s a shame.
