Sad to see this location closing!. The mole is incredible!
Always awesome! The quality of ingredients and taste of the food are absolutely tops! I’d pick this restaurant any time for a wonderful meal with awesome drinks and perfect service!
It was “ok”. Very difficult to park for supper . Food was nothing special
Fabulous! First time and won’t be our last
Great food and everything we didn’t order looked amazing
The taste was spot-on and was prepared to perfection
We had dinner with family on a Sunday evening and ate on their patio which was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I love there spin on mexican favorites such as a salmon and goat cheese burrito. Worth the drive every time.
Always awesome food. Wonderful friendly service. Love this place!
Patrons are packed in a bit tight, and with a big group nearby, it was difficult to hold a conversation at dinner. But the traditional Mexican food we had was great, and our requests were cheerfully honored (guacamole with no jalapeño, extra sour cream). Our server was absolutely charming, upbeat, and extremely efficient. We can’t wait to go back.
We frequent the Highland Park location and thought we would try the Highwood location as it was easy to get a Father’s Day brunch reservation through Open Table. While the ambiance is great - breakfast is not their forte.
Reserved for Father's Day and very disappointed including:
There was only one table occupied when we walked in and no one came to table to get our order until after the rest of the restaurant filled up and they took everyone else's order before ours.
And even the people who ordered after we finally got to order were served food before us.
Better yet, I tried to order the apple cinammon filled blintzes and was told that they did not have any prepared; but not 5 mintes later, the table behind me requested the apple cinamon filling and not only did they get what they wanted; they were served before us. We honestly felt that the staff discriminated against us based on our looks.
In addition, everything was sticky including the table cloth and menus; and appetizer plate still had dried food caked to it.
This review is from somebody who had several great dining experiences here years ago for dinner. I guess this restaurant's true colors show when you dine here in daylight.
I do not recommend this location due to disciminatory service and lack of cleanliness.
Nothing will ever make us come back, which is a shame, because we just relocated to this area and were so excited that we would be so close to Casa De Isaac.
We look forward to checking out all the new and superior restaurants in the area.
Excellent and tasty food. Top quality ingredients.
Tremendous menu variety, exceptional preparations, and very friendly and attentive service. Loved it all!!!
Great food, great service and fun atmosphere!
We enjoyed, just... expected more from homemade tortillas ... didn’t prove to be an added feature taste wise. Chips, salsa and guacamole all good . Pricier because of the area, but expected that. Really got a good vibe that it was authentic and overall good dinner experience.
Wonderful staff. Prompt efficient service and GREAT food. Isaac is the best!
Food was good service was great! Accommodated our large party and occasion!
Always enjoy the enchiladas! Javier was a terrific waiter and will b back soon!
It was my girlfriend's birthday and I'd heard GREAT stuff about this place. We arrived at 8 PM when I booked the res on Open Table for and they were very rude and said they didn't see a reservation and would not honor it. Then a woman who I think was the owner literally SHUT THE DOOR IN OUR FACE.
So I can't speak to the food, we went somewhere else for my girlfriend's birthday. But I'll tell you this: I'll never go back and I will tell all my friends about how horrible they are to people.
I get the impression that they're very popular so they think that gives them the right to treat customers like human garbage. That's NOT cool. Avoid at all costs. Do you really want to give money to such disrespectful jerks who couldn't care less about a reservation (for my girlfriend's BIRTHDAY I might add)!
Excellent service! Our waiter, Javier, was the best! Great food and excellent margaritas.
The food was good and the guacamole was fresh and enough for four. The top shelf margarita was very good. Our entrees were very good. No room for dessert.
Tasty food, great service!
Amazing service, authentic ambiance, delicious fresh food! Even the tortilla chips are made fresh! Love this place!
It's wonderful to have such a great Mexican restaurant so close to home ~ have been working through the menu after regularly having the same thing ~ no disappointments yet!
We had a wonderful dinner!!
The staff were wonderful (so kind!) to us!
The food was delicious, drinks great!!
We love this place!
Took a bit of time to be seated even with reservation. Also waited for server for quite a long time to take drink order. Food was good. It was a very busy night, but we have had better meals there. Think the kitchen was overloaded, but we will go back.
Always fine flavors with hospitality to match
Food was great. We were the first people there. Our waitress barely paid attention to us. We tried to get her attention several times so we could get change to give her a 20% tip, but she barely came to check on us. Overall really loved the restaurant and food.
Company outing staff dinner - great margaritas!
Hadn't been to Isaac's in quite a while and was pleasantly surprised (reminded) why we love this place! Isaac met us at the outer door to ensure that the diners were not blasted with frigid air if the inner door was to open at the same time. His effort helped to create a cozy atmosphere inside. Our server (Isaac Jr.) was delightful, energetic and passionate about the food and drinks he served. Food was delicious and plentiful and take home boxes were happily provided. All in all a great experience! Can't wait to return!
We had a party of 6 reservation on Christmas day. The place was beyond packed! To their credit, the service was still perfect. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. Every one if us had something different and even with substitutions came out perfect. Love this place!
The meal and service were great. Had a very attentive waiter. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant.
Great as usual. Lune is the best server. Toatados de civeche a little too spicy
We have been there many times and will most likely not return. We ordered guacamole and when it finally arrived and we started eating it, one of our party found that the guacamole had a metal screw in it. He found it in his mouth. This person made the owner aware. The owner apologized and said he would replace the guacamole.
The new guacamole never arrived.
When it came time to pay the bill (which had two drinks on it we did not order), the waiter said the owner would come by and address the situation. When he finally arrived, he once again apologized and offered us a $25 gift card for our next visit. He asked if that was enough. It obviously was not, but we did not want to seem like the people who wanted something for the restaurant’s mistake.
Following another heated conversation. We just left with our $25 gift card.
On our way out the owner asked if wanted something more. He should not have put us in that situation to ask for something to cure the restaurant’s error. He should have just done something more significant at the outset then a $25 gift card for a future visit
We did not want to make a scene, but will most likely not return.
Met a couple for dinner. It was loud but the atmosphere was great and the food really good.
We will never go back. It was so noisy we were could not hear each other. The table was so small that the menus were on our chairs because they would not fit on the table. Tables too close to each other. I did not like the food !
Excellent Margaretias and fresh great food. Service a bit too fast but friendly and attentive. Restaurant decor a touch of Mexico.
Great, authentic Mexican.
Best margarita we’ve had in ages.
never disappoints! great authentic homemade fare. you can’t go wrong with any of their dishes. extensive drink menu doesn’t hurt either!
Wonderful food. Isaac is always so welcoming. Fantastic place to take your family.
Isaac and his staff are always attentive, accommodating, friendly and willing to go the extra mile! We go to both restaurants for dinner just for fun as a family or with a group and for special occasions and parties.
Our table was ready. The drinks were good, service was excellent, and the staff was great. No problems for a handicapped person. This is the best Mexican food in the North Shore.
