Excellent value. Seafood dishes, especially the grilled NOT fried squid, are fresh and delicious. The homemade pastas with special sauces remind you of Italy. You don’t want to rush your way through lunch or dinner here. One of the best restaurants in SOMA.
Great ambiance, service, and food quality. Highly recommend to anyone in the area to give it a try.
Great meal and wine. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Easy walk from Moscone.
One of our "go to" restaurants in SOMA/South Beach. Very good food, great ambience, although the noise level increases as the restaurant fills up.
The two owners always make you feel welcome, and are quite sincere in it.
Love this restaurant, consistently great service and food.
What started out as a great dining experience unfortunately took a dive as the restaurant is clearly understaffed. While one can appreciate the concept of a traditional dining experience of not rushing and actually taking the time to enjoy your meal courses and dining conversation, regrettably that experience is lost when staff disappears and cannot be found and you cannot find anyone to even pay the check to because they are preoccupied flirting with one table. Sad because it could be a better experience and the food is truly good.
Fabulous as always! Love this place. Gianluca and Alessandro are the best hosts and the food is extraordinary.
Good spot to take the coworkers for lunch. Most lunch specials are between 13-20 dollars. Would consider going back again.
This was our first time at La Briciola but it won't be the last. Food was outstanding. I had braised rabbit that would delicious and fell off the bone - no need for a knife. My wife had a chicken dish that she raved about. Usually restaurant portions are too large for her to finish, but she finished her entire dinner this time. My friend has a Tutte di mare pasta that he also said was delicious. We split a panna cotta for dessert and the cherry coulis sauce that accompanied the panna cotta was outstanding. Very friendly service and the place was hopping for a Sunday night, so I know we weren't the only ones who like to go to this restaurant.
I arranged a surprise dinner party for my husband at La Briciola. We were 16 people (mostly vegetarians) and everyone had a wonderful time. The food is great, and the portions are large, so I would go with the main courses than spend money on appetizers. They have a great wine list. We had plenty of food and wine, and it still ended up being about $50 per person. I definitely recommend this place for large groups!
Great as usual. This has become our go-to restaurant. Usually no problem getting a reservation. Service is always top-notch. Great value as well.
Outstanding food, fantastic service! This place is a true hidden gem and perfect if you’re looking for delicious authentic Italian food.
A bit of old school Tuscany in the middle of SoMa.
Although the service was good the food was not good. Our appetizers and our mains we're comped because they were uneditable. The appetizer we purchased was basically polenta even though it claimed to have other things with it. The mains we're a filet mignon that was so dry at medium rare that it was not worth eating. The other dish was a seafood dish where all the clam, muscles, shrimp we're burnt before they through a sauce on top.
Wonderful food and service !!! Authentic Italian food I love.
I almost went back the next night for the incredible porcini ravioli. La Briciola is great.
The pasta was either slightly overcooked or slightly undercooked (we were a large party), but everything else was perfect, and the wait staff spectacular.
LaBriociola is a very traditional Italian restaurant with an extensive menu. It was fully booked the night we were there and service was stretched.....we had a long wait for our meals. Everyone was happy with their choices and loved the atmosphere.
Date night with my wife. We loved the reastaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. We had the warm seafood salad, the tagliatelle w truffle and the lamb shank. All dishes were excellent. The bread was also very good. The profiterole was also very tasty and freshly made. Unfortunately they call one of he desserts a soufflé but it isn’t. Fortunately the waiter told us that before ordering. Other than that the meal was excellent.
Food was good. Service was weak - waited about 15 minutes before the manager came over who became our server the rest of the meal. They seemed to be short staffed on Valentines Day.
There is no better restaurant SF, period!
Great, as always! Love coming here!
If you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant, this is it. This charming, quiet, restaurant feels like someone picked up a neighborhood restaurant in Rome, Naples or Milan and dropped into South of Market. The owners work as servers in the room. They are warm, welcoming and generous. I had the lamb shank, which was absolutely perfect. The pasta is always good, especially good is the lasagna. I've been to La Briciola many times as it has become my favorite Italian restaurant in SF. I had my birthday party there and they were able to accommodate 30 people as they would a large, extended Italian family. I am a New York transplant and I go to La Briciola when I want a hit of home. It reminds me of the great family Italian restaurants in The West Village. It is not to be missed.
Really outstanding service--staff really dedicated to making the evening enjoyable, checked in at all the right times without being overbearing. Food was excellent. Great ambiance for a date/romantic evening.
Great place to have a business lunch. Enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, and the ambience was lovely.
We thouroghly enjoyed dinner there. The food was excellent. I will go back soon.
Great little restaurant hidden in a gritty SOMA neighborhood. Food and service both terrific and not too noisy so you can carry on a conversation without raising your voice.
The seafood spaghetti with black-ink sauce and the ravioli were both very good, as was the dinner salad (fresh, varied leaf veggies).
This was the second time at La Briciola. The staff is friendly and helpful, although the wait staff seemed a bit stretched thin when the restaurant filled up. The food was fabulous. We had 2 specials: swordfish and lamb shank and both were perfectly prepared. The portions were quite generous, leaving us no room for dessert (sigh). We felt like this meal was a good value. Our only complaint was that because there was a fairly large boisterous group seated at the back of this small space the atmosphere was quite noisy, but at least the restaurant had seated these folks as far back as possible. Nice place to dine if you have an evening event at Yerba Buena center.
We loved this spot. We came for a birthday dinner and loved the Lamb Shank special and Eggplant and Mushroom pasta special. The tiramisu was incredible! Friendly, attentive, and very fast service. We'll be back.
This is an absolute gem. The food was uniformly terrific (the pasta with my lamb ragu was out of this world), the service was attentive (it almost seemed that they were understaffed, but every time we needed something, our waiter was right there), the wine list was appropriate and extensive. Forget North Beach; this is the place to go.
Fabulous as always! Delicious food and wonderful service. Great guys! My friends had never been but are now great fans and will return. I love introducing folks to La Briciola.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant all around! Greeted warmly by the host. Then by an assistant to the waiter to service us water. Then by our waiter. My husband’s wine didn’t taste just right and waiter graciously brought him a different wine. Pre-salads, we both enjoyed the fresh bread with minced olives in olive oil. Our arugula salads were super fresh and a bounty of green with shavings of parmesan and slighted cherry tomatoes with a light dressing. My date requested a generous helping of parmesan and was given the pleasure. We shared the evening’s special ravioli dish and the halibut🎉. Wow! We truly cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone at La Briciola. Molto Beni
Dining at La Briciola has become a winter ritual during the Fancy Food Show. And they never let us down. Everything is fabulously well-prepared and delicious. This time a perfect burrata appetizer, simple but simply delicious Caesar salads, rack of lamb, and pasta with seafood. Just perfect, like always.
Delicious authentic Italian food with fantastic service. Everyone at our table got the lasagne and it was incredible!!
Large menu but everything we ordered was good, especially the seafood pastas.
Pasta was under cooked, wait staff unattentive, salad poorly dressed, would not return
Had a lovely time and immsensely enjoyed the food only to find out we when the check came that we were charged $30 just to eat there. Very disappointed the fee was sprang on us. $30 admission fee to eat? Really?!
My husband and I went here for before New Year's Eve festivities. The gnocchi and calamari was amazing. We couldn't finish it there, but we ended up eating the leftovers in our hotel at 1 am. It was delicious!
