La Briciola Ratings and Reviews
Cute room. Charming staff. Didn’t rush us at all! Pluses: the opening bread and oil. And the lasagna. A wow. Close: linguine vongole lacked the depth of flavor this should have. And the grilled calamari was tepid. Wine list distinctly Italian and value oriented.
Excellent in every way!
Best meal Ihave had in SF in ages.
Great atmosphere-small and intimate-feels like u r in Italy.
Antipasto plate to share—-loaded with quality Italian meats.
Lamb shank—-huge and melt in your mouth. Ravioli special—-superb... sea bass stuffed with lobster cream sauce—-huge pieces of lobster.Myshroom Lasagna special—delicious. Ribbon pasta with lamb ragu—-so f-ing good. Huge portions. Homemade pastas.
Owner was our server. Usually don't like this as mist owners do it to save labor. I give him a pass as he was great. Bought us a desert and we biught one. Both need work- not like quality of the entrees.
25$ for corkage—too steep. I don’t mind 15$
I have told ten people how good it was already. 175$ for 4 including Corkage.
U will not be disappointed here!!!
I know good food and am always honest in my reviews so u don’t want to disappoint me!!!
Some truly delicious dishes. The bread was perfect crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The fried calamari batter was very light and crispy and the seafood lasagna was wonderful not at all what we expected. Many Thin layers of lasagna noodles with cream and seafood interspersed. Rich and sinful . We will be back soon.
This has got to be one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Service is great. But take your time in the establishment. They would like to enjoy your dining experience. Their wine list is great. Absolutely a great date place. Romantic. The owner, Alessandro, has great personality. I will be back here for sure.
The staff at Briciola was top notch - extremely friendly, flexible, accountable and willing to work with us on a large group (22) without the hassle of contracts and F&B minimums - that is practically unheard of in SF in this day and age. They seemed to have quite a lot of local neighborhood regulars as well. The food was superb. The service was great. I will make this my go-to with future business group meetings.
We were at SFMOMA and wanted to meet our daughter in SF for dinner. We found La Briciola online and since it had positive reviews and was within walking distance, we thought we'd give it a try. Very cute, quite good food - I echo an earlier reviewer who said the lasagna was the best he had ever had and the prices were reasonable.
We had an excellent meal with excellent service. It is nice to find a restaurant that you can actually have a nice conversation in without yelling at your guest to be heard.
Sauted calarari was perfectly prepared and generous. Soup was excellent and the sausage in it enhanced the flavors. Swordfish dish was perfect to split for two people.
Great as always. I have been here often, and it is consistently superb. Everything is very good. I believe that there is a passion for excellence in the food preparation, presentation, and service. For all of these aspects to always be exceptional shows that the people here love what they do. They always make me feel welcome and are so kind and pleasant.
I just love La Briciola! I recently moved out of the state, and came back for half a day. I made sure I spent some of those few hours right here at this jewel of a restaurant. The Bay Area has some very good restaurants, but this is my favorite.
Thank you Gian Luca and the entire staff for providing such a great dining and gathering establishment!!
We walked to Briciola from BART for a pre-theater dinner (worth the walk). The warm greeting at the door set the tone for the whole evening: attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. My husband had rack of lamb, which was cooked perfectly. I had baked halibut cooked in a tomato sauce. The only miss on that dish were the potatoes which were cut as thin as chips and were overpowered by the sauce. If you're tired of overpriced, noisy, pretentious restsurants, take a walk south of market to this lovely little restaurant.
We enjoyed our first visit and will definitely return. All dishes were fresh and homemade - the fresh bread and olive tapenade were a yummy start. Sauces were creative and complimented the dishes perfectly. Not the prettiest neighborhood, but the interior is surprisingly cozy, clean, and quiet. We will return because there are so many dishes we want to try.
