This is the second time in a month. I love the menu and the fact that it's a "real" Italian restaurant with amazing dishes. The quality of the products are outstanding and cooked to perfection. Pasta al dente.
We were disappointed with our dinner. The main courses were uninteresting and not particularly tasty. The waiter was pleasant and friendly but he was not at all attentive and for the first half hour there was only one other table occupied. We had to wait too long for him to take our wine order. We had to wait too long for him to take our food order. I had to ask 3 times for more water. He never came to check to see if we needed anything. Maybe it was an "off night" but there are too many good restaurants in SF for us to go back and try La Briciola again.
Very bland food
Pasta is amazing here!!!
This is my second time and will def. return again. Thank you.
We ate here the night before the San Francisco Marathon. What a gem! We split the burrata and ravioli con pomodoro as well as the sfogliatine con gamberi e asparagi. We topped our meal off with profitterolles... Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much! Would definitely recommend - off the beaten path but definitely worth it!
This gem of a restaurant was a hit from the moment we walked in! We were warmly greeted and got a table quickly. We had the best gnocci I have ever had in my life! It was the gnocci with gargonzola. The bread was fresh with a wonderful olive oil and olive dip. We had the mixed salad with vinagrette and a glass of the montelpuciano abruzzo. Everything was superb, so much so we can't wait to go back tonight and try other menu items! We chose not to have dessert cause we wanted a gelato from Coletta's which is right around the corner, AND if you feel like a bit more of a walk, stop by the wholesale flower market at 3rd and Brannon. It closes at 3 pm
This place has everything going for it except the actual food. It's a charming place with competent waiters, and the menu looks good on paper, but the execution of the menu is just not that great. The Caesar salad tasted like it was slathered with mayonnaise, the lasagne was deeply unremarkable. It seems to need a new chef.
Just family get together
A wonderful meal in a quaint restaurant very good
We ate here for an early meal prior to going to the theatre. It is an interesting location, but we were able to park on the street for free which is a bonus in SF.
I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Everything was fresh and delicious. Three of us ordered different pasta dishes and one person had the seafood special. Each one of us enjoyed what we had, but I have to say the Lasagna was awesome!
I am not sure if it was the owner who waited on us, but he was friendly and recommended a lovely wine based upon what we described.
I would absolutely go here again.
The only downside it is not in a trendy or lively SF location.
I had an excellent orecchiette with wild boar and my wife had a lovely salmon. Very helpful wait staff. Wine list is nice and not over priced. Very happy to have found this place that is a bit away from our typical dining area.
This was a pleasant meal that did its job. I was overall not impressed with my entree (I got the veal). It was tougher and drier than I'd like. My friend enjoyed the seafood risotto, so other menu options are likely better. But the service and atmosphere was nice. It contributed to an enjoyable evening.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. One of our favorite Italian restaurants in the city.
Best Northern Italian restaurant in SF, no doubt. Awesome wine collection, great service, very comfy and of course, excellent food!
We all had pasta dishes and they were excellent.
This was a fantastic date spot! We each got one of the specials, and the portions were fantastic. Delicious bread and some sort of olive sauce that was amazing. The server was swamped but super courteous and did his best - so overall excellent customer experience. They poured good sized glasses of wine too! Definitely coming back!
Generell empfehlenswert, absolut casual
We found this Gem thru Open Table during a weekend getaway in SF. It was an easy walk from our hotel in the SoMa area. The owners were very engaging. Our dinner selections were perfect. The service was a tad slow, but when they were at our table, they had our full attention and fully answered all questions. We look forward to visiting again the next time we are in the City.
We are always happy when we can dine here. Fresh and creative meals and service that never feels rushed.
Really enjoyed this wine 2010 Amarone della Valpolicella Corte Majoli, Verona, Italia
Nice spot. Very good squid ink pasta.
Soup not quite as good
Chicken with porcini mushroom dish was underwhelming
The food was great. We just felt a little ignored at times. We will go again.
From start to finish, the restaurant was lovely. We had a small group, varied dietary requirements and the entire meal was relaxed and enjoyable. Close by to the Convention Center and good for a small group. I highly recommend it!
We had dinner fopr two on Sunday evening and ordered a take out for a late arrival. The food was excellent and the service terrific. They were very accommodating and we actually ate the take out before we left. I would definitely choose this restaurant again.
Excellent food and service. A few blocks away from the mainstream but worth the walk.
We had a lovely meal for 10 people to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday. Alessandro and his staff were very attentive the food was wonderful. I would highly recommend it
my wife and I wanted to really like this place as we were in the mood for Italian and we both are of northern Italian descent. However every dish was pretty meh. We started off with mussels which had a great sauce. The burrata didn’t have the texture we’ve grown to love. We asked if the salmon was wild and the waiter shrugged and said “yeah it’s wild.” It wasn’t wild based on color and taste. I’m sure they would have highlighted that on the menu anyway. The halibut was not bad. They also forgot the mushroom pasta that we ordered. When we reminded them well after we finished our fish we got it for dessert. Service was aloof.
Excellent value. Seafood dishes, especially the grilled NOT fried squid, are fresh and delicious. The homemade pastas with special sauces remind you of Italy. You don’t want to rush your way through lunch or dinner here. One of the best restaurants in SOMA.
Great ambiance, service, and food quality. Highly recommend to anyone in the area to give it a try.
Great meal and wine. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Easy walk from Moscone.
One of our "go to" restaurants in SOMA/South Beach. Very good food, great ambience, although the noise level increases as the restaurant fills up.
The two owners always make you feel welcome, and are quite sincere in it.
Love this restaurant, consistently great service and food.
What started out as a great dining experience unfortunately took a dive as the restaurant is clearly understaffed. While one can appreciate the concept of a traditional dining experience of not rushing and actually taking the time to enjoy your meal courses and dining conversation, regrettably that experience is lost when staff disappears and cannot be found and you cannot find anyone to even pay the check to because they are preoccupied flirting with one table. Sad because it could be a better experience and the food is truly good.
Fabulous as always! Love this place. Gianluca and Alessandro are the best hosts and the food is extraordinary.
Good spot to take the coworkers for lunch. Most lunch specials are between 13-20 dollars. Would consider going back again.
This was our first time at La Briciola but it won't be the last. Food was outstanding. I had braised rabbit that would delicious and fell off the bone - no need for a knife. My wife had a chicken dish that she raved about. Usually restaurant portions are too large for her to finish, but she finished her entire dinner this time. My friend has a Tutte di mare pasta that he also said was delicious. We split a panna cotta for dessert and the cherry coulis sauce that accompanied the panna cotta was outstanding. Very friendly service and the place was hopping for a Sunday night, so I know we weren't the only ones who like to go to this restaurant.
I arranged a surprise dinner party for my husband at La Briciola. We were 16 people (mostly vegetarians) and everyone had a wonderful time. The food is great, and the portions are large, so I would go with the main courses than spend money on appetizers. They have a great wine list. We had plenty of food and wine, and it still ended up being about $50 per person. I definitely recommend this place for large groups!
