La Brasserie Bistro and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Great experience as usual. We had a nice table on the patio. Food was very tasty. I had grilled veal with butternut squash ravioli. My veal was a little tough (probably a bit overcooked), but the flavors were excellent. Our server was great. Not obtrusive, but we never felt ignored.
Usually excellent service but last night had to wait a long time for salad and then quite a while for entree, which is unusual. Eat here fairly often and it's never taken so long to get our food. They were very busy so they may have gotten behind in the kitchen, or maybe someone didn't show up for work. Once we got our food, it was very good as always.
One of our favorite spots in CV. Consistently good food, good selection, reasonable pricing. We've loved La Brasserie for years, and only problem ever experienced was with hostess in 2017. Fortunately, she has been replaced, and all is well again. Chef is Alsatian, which plays to our tastes: French onion soup, schnitzel, frog legs, sole and great salads. Bar Menu is great value. Truffle fries outstanding.
First time here and we were very pleased. The waiter handled some missteps caused by the kitchen and we actually had to send a bottle of wine back (that was corked). He handled the situations beautifully.
The wine (we eventually had) and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed the whole experience and will be back.
Great service and friendly staff. Our party of five sat on the lovely patio. Very charming atmosphere. We all started with the French onion soup, which was really good. Our friend had the mussels which she loved. Her husband had a steak which was just average, served with a huge portion of fries. My husband had the liver and was very happy with the dish. I ordered the weinersnitzal dinner that was good. They serve very large portions. We did share a crime brûlée dessert for the table. A very pleasant evening. We will return.
We went to this restaurant for Christmas Eve. The price for the set menu was high, which was fine, assuming the food was of a high quality, which was not the case. The service was very slow and all four people dining felt that the taste and presentation of the meals was fair at best and certainly well below what would be expected at a fine ding establishment.
Service was very slow had to ask when our drinks order would arrive, and then the same thing about our food.
However, the food was well prepared and very tasty on arrival.
The menu is pricy.
At the time of our dining the restaurant was was very quiet with few customers.
