La Bottega - Vail Ratings and Reviews
We ate here last year for our girls weekend and really enjoyed our meals. This year, all four of our meals were not good. My friend and I had the trout and it had no flavor and was fishy and my other girlfriends steak at tough. She could hardly cut it. Granted it was restaurant weekend and the steak was $20.17 instead of $38.70, that should not matter. We probably won't come back to this restaurant after the meal we had. But the ambiance was great and the waiter was wonderful.
PLUSES: The food and wine were very good; we enjoyed the sole and ravioli entrees as well as the bottle of Luvae Vermentino wine. We always enjoy discovering lesser-know wines and at a great price.
MINUSES: The music was extremely loud when we entered the dining room - Pavarotti signing Adeste Fidelis (think Christmas). The volume of the music became less obvious as the noise of the dining room increased. Even more annoying than the noise was the banging caused the deadbolt on the patio door every time a guest or server used the door - every few minutes. Why not unlock the door so the deadbolt wouldn't be engaged?
Food was very good. Service not so good. And they were out of quite a bit of food on a Saturday night. The food all arrived at different times and the last entree nearly 10 minutes after the first person was served. Also, we had some special food requests which the kitchen got wrong. Overall, the food was just Okk, service fair, ambience very good.
There were 2 of us. We had a res at 8:30. Several open tables yet the hostess tried to seat us at a small table sticking out into the room. She moved us to an open 4 top in the corner. Much nicer. Took too long for the waiter to come see us even though this was a slow night. Food was good.
Our experience would have been better had they not sat us in an attic room alone. It was hot and Had zero atmosphere. Downstairs would have been more appealing . Unless you're reserving entire attic to yourselves & want total quiet, ask for a downstairs Table. Waiter & food were great though . Pricing a little High.
Four of us dined at La Botega for the first time on 7-3-17 and found it to be outstanding. It has very authentic Italian cooking, attentive but not bothersome service and a comfortable upscale decor. We sat upstairs for dinner and had a great veiw of the mountains, we moved to the patio for desert and after dinner drinks. Can't wait to go back!
Wonderful food and atmosphere. We went with a native Italian and he was pleased. We had all had pasta dishes. Mine was the linguini with mussels, lobster and shrimp with a white sauce. excellent. good for business meals, as well as family and more intimate dining. Quiet so it is conducive to conversations. I recommend.
