Great restaurant. Very very nice
Great location, very authentic decor, delicious food, and impeccable service
Excellent atmosphere. The food is incredible. One of my most favorite restaurants when visiting San Diego. Extremely attentive wait staff.
Another great meal!
I have eaten at La Bonne table many times and have never been disappointed yet. The food is excellent and the ambiance is also very good. I truly love coming here
The food and wine tasting was excellent. I would like to see new things on the menu.
Wonderful as always
Charming, quaint, bistro. Great for a date or with friends, as we were, for brunch or lunch. All round pleasant.
Very good brunch, but the service was a bit slow for such a small place. Given that, really need to get a reservation. Anxious to try it for dinner.
Always great with everything
This is a small, intimate setting with great service and excellent food! One could feel transported to Paris!
I've been twice now and both times it was a great experience. Traditional French food, great wine at good prices. The menu changes seasonally so I can't wait to go back!
Excellent service great food pleasant atmosphere try the lamb shank delicious
I enjoy going to this locally adorable restaurant. Their menu is creative, cheeses are delicious and they have a good wine selection. We were very surprised to have such large entree's. Usually, French equates to small plates. Neither of us were able to finish our meal. I had the lamb. Though, it was tender, I thought it lacked depth of flavor. My son had the mussels, it was delicious.
Valentines dinner was pre-fixe at $65 pp and choices were varied with something yummy for every taste bud. Lobster bisque starter was fantastic and salad was salad, meh. Salmon entree and steak frites were great, dessert was included. I opted for wine pairing ($25 extra) and should have specified red wine preferences as I was served two whites, which were fine, but my fault for not being specific. The serving staff aims to please, so feel free to ask questions. Ambiance is total charmsville.
We have been wanting to try this place for a while now, especially since we live within walking distance. So, we made Valentine's Day reservations a month ahead. It was great and we will definitely be back. It is very authentic French cuisine, very intimate and pleasant. Wine selection was very nice and the service was friendly and prompt. You won't be disappointed.
This place continues to wow us. My husband and I have tried many eateries across San Diego and this one always comes out on top. The service is excellent, the food is consistently fresh and delicious and the atmosphere of the place is relaxing and attractive. It's almost like sitting in a best friend's living room for dinner. The wait staff has not changed for years; the two gentlemen who serve take great care of us without going overboard. We also like that they have a small menu with good selections; I'm always wary of a place that offers a huge number of dishes--how can the chef specialize in all of them? Anyway....this is our go to restaurant.....it's five stars in our book.
The main objection I had to this place was the price. We paid over 100$ for two of us. The "30$ and under" quote is rather ridiculous. We had an entree and soup each. We had no salad and no wine!
On the other hand the food was delicious. The pork chops were excellent, as was the potato/cheese side. My companion also loved the onion soup, though I did not like the use of brown bread in it instead of white and wish I had been given an option.
Most of the other tables were occupied when we arrived, and so the noise level was a bit high. It diminished to a good level by the time we were finished with our meal.
The waiter was very attentive and obliging.
One of our favorites! Superb from service, food, ambiance, wine, etc. Top notch!
We are regular visitors and are never disappointed. The menu is small so it gets lots of attention from the chef. The staff are efficient and attentive. It is a good special occasion venue.
I had driven by La Bonne Table several times, and it looked so inviting, I just hoped the food and service would live up to reviews. It did. We loved the lamb shanks with beans. Our only mistake was that we ordered too much food because we wanted to try everything. Will definitely go back again.
We had a terrific brunch at La Bonne Table on Sunday. French Toast as light as air and a Smoked Salmon with poached eggs which was delicious. Coffee was a little too strong for our taste. We will go back. Highly recommended.
If you want upscale classic French done the old fashion way...this is you place! A cozy tiny restaurant where everyone has their attention.
Their fabulous onion soup was rich, flavorful, served in the correct vessel, with the cheese on top browned to perfection. Trout Almondine, Lobster Bisque with muscles in the shell, and Crepes Suzette were all mouth watering. The food is not trendy, it is totally authentic French.
I'd heard great things about this place, and it did not disappoint one bit! Oh-so-Parisian feeling, nice and small, intimate yet not stuffy...and oh the menu. The food was probably the best French food I've had in San Diego, and reasonably priced. Very nice wine menu. My only disappointment was the dessert. Chocolate mousse wasn't really mousse-ey, and the whipped cream may have come from a can. Felt like quantity over quality, and dessert at a French restaurant is crucial!
That said, can't wait to go back!
Never disappoints!! It’s the true Parisian experience right here in San Diego!! If word gets out we may never get a table there again!! Thats how good it is! How lucky we are to have this gem in our “food midst”!
This is my go to restaurant when I have friends or relatives visiting or when I just want a great meal with friends. it is the most reliable and, all-in-all, the best overall dining place in the city.
Yo handles everything masterfully! Makes and serves your drink (one of the best in town!). Takes your order and servers it all up so professionally. And the food is outstanding.
Cheese plate appetizer was excellent, but the rillettes de porc were disappointing. Steak frites was very average - pretty fatty steak (charred and slightly overcooked for medium rare) with some significant gristle to dissect out, and the fries were OK, but not really hot or crispy enough. The braised lamb shank was nothing special, and the beans were not an ideal component to our taste. Dessert of crepes were on the rubbery side, and not inspiring.
We had great hopes for this venue, but we were disappointed. Much more expensive than it should be for the quality delivered.
Had an enjoyable dinner with my daughter. We enjoyed the wine pairing too.
Second visit just as good as the first time! Mouth wateringly tender trout, luscious (and authentic) pork rillettes, snails swimming in garlicky parsley sauce, perfectly cooked and crisp duck confit (best outside of France so far), and simple but delicious traditional French desserts. Excellent service and the most charming atmosphere - you feel like you're in a tiny bistro in Paris. Merci!
Great food especially for the value
The was amazing!! Wine pairing definitely worth it. A great dining experience
Small (very small) cozy intimate and authentic French restaurant. Excellent service and very good food. Not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend. Not good for groups or loud conversation. Best for 2. Attire ranged from super casual to suit & tie. It was a great evening.
We had a wonderful dinner. Like in Paris, a three course meal at a reasonable price. Wine pairing was successful. Small and quiet place, rare these days.
Pork chop and steak was divine. My Lillet and bitters cocktail was pretty amazing too. I wish we had a table on the window, more intimate, but the food made up for it.
This restaurant was recommended. By the concierge. It was a short walk and scheduled a reservation upon opening. We had escargot to start. While tasty, I found them a little tough. For entree, I had the mussels and they were ok, but nothing outstanding. My date had the lamb and she found them outstanding. We were full and passed on desert.
Additional info, TripAdvisor had the wrong phone number,, but our concierge. Made your reservations.
Amazing food. Great service. Great staff. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic French food in a peaceful & beautiful setting. Great service, nice wine & drink list and lots of charm. Must try!
Enjoyed the small setting and the attentive, but respectful, service. Food was excellent (escargot, French onion soup, duck, mussels). We'll be back, but should be a regular choice for those who live within walking distance!
This tiny bistro is a true gem for San Diego! It’s as close to Paris as we can get here in Southern CA! Must make reservation...at least 10 people were turned away at door while we were there! Small but very select menu and the food is outstanding as is the service! Lets please keep this special restaurant thriving !!
