La Bonne Table
Food was great for the price. Ambiance nice. Wish the wine offerings were better. Will definitely go back.
The service was good. Unfortunately, the food was lacking anything special. It was just okay. My friend had the pork chop and it was dry and over cooked. The fish was really small and again, it was just okay.
Exceptional in every respect. LBT never disappoints.
I made reservations for my husband’s birthday. He was not excited because he had never heard about this place, but I had read reviews, and I was also hungry for some quality French food!
The moment we walked in, we were delighted! It’s like walking into a Paris bistro! Intimate (only 12 tables!), but everything was great about it! A classic French menu, and hubby was excited to see Duck Confit on the menu. I had the trout almondine, served with asparagus. We shared a bottle of rose from Provence. We shared a frisée salad with warm chèvre.
The chef, Renaud Tristan, is from Paris. His wife, Sandra, is from Italy.
It was so enjoyable that we returned on Sunday for Brunch! This is our new go-to French restaurant when we can’t be in Paris!!!
Fantastic. Only thing I’d say is at the end when we were ready to pay our waiter disappeared for at least 10 minutes somewhere and we were the only 2 in the restaurant. Other than that it was wonderful.
What a great find. Small space perfect for dates, friendly dinners, business meetings or a special occasion. Food and service are top notch! I love the neighborhood feel and the space made us feel like we were “home”. I’ll definitely be back.
Lovely intimate bistro with a classic French menu. Great service, wonderful food!
Love the quiet ambiance of this place. We had a simple meal of French onion soup and wine. Beautiful
Wife had the pork chop it was off the hook delicious, I had the mussels huge bowl and the broth was to die for
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at La Bonne Table! The restaurant was cozy and the service very attentive. We started with the pate, followed that with a main and our deserts were delicious! Great French restaurant in the heart of Hillcrest.
Very traditional French cuisine. Blood sausage special was unexpected and very good. Plan on coming back to taste most items on the menu! Service was attentive and atmosphere quite as we eat around 5:30 PM.
Wonderful dinner, onion soup exceeded expectations as did mussels!! Service was impeccable! Would definitely recommend and will return!!!!
Great food, service and way to enjoy a birthday brunch!
What can I say? Our favorite French restaurant tucked away in this cute little house in Hillcrest. The service is top notch and the food outstanding. And NO loud music so you can actually hear yourself talk! This place is a neighborhood gem and highly recommend.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant!!! The service is polished, knowledgable and unpretentious. The food is scrumptious. And the environment is comforting and relaxing. I really even forget Im in San Diego when I eat here.
We've eaten and.or had cocktails and snacks at La Bonne Table many times and keep coming back. One of the best restaurants in San Diego!
As always just perfect! As close to a Parisian bistro as we can get in San Diego ...wonderful evening
My husband and I enjoyed brunch at La Bonne this past Sunday (6 October) and it was awesome! We loved everything about it, especially the food and service. Definitely recommend.
The food was excellent, and the service was out of this world.
Le Bonne Table is our "go to" French restaurant in San Diego ! ! ! Our waiter, "Yo", is fabulous ! ! ! :)
Wonderful service , Wonderful food , great Ambience !! Will be backb
This was our third visit. Every one was magnificent! All aspects were great. And this is one of the few quiet places around. The onion soup, trout and deserts were delightful and we didn't realize it was restaurant week.
What a wonderful dining experience. So quaint and cozy!. Service was on point, and we did not feel rushed at all. The French Onion soup was a delight, the pork chop and potatoes au gratin were superb, the Creme brûlée was one of the best I’ve had, and the chocolate mousse was airy and delightfully bitter sweet. So glad we found this lovely restaurant!
Very French restaurant, from the sidewalk-facing tables to the cozy inside space. We enjoyed the experience as it reminded us of Paris.
Enjoyed the restaurant week dinner. Well prepared bistro food with a nice wine list. Could have used a few more veggies with the main course. Definitely worth a try!
I went for restaurant week and enjoyed attentive service, a great steak (nice cut of meat, and well cooked), thoughtful wine pairings, and a really great creme brulee. The only reaason I rated the food as "good" rather than VERY good, was because I thought I detected the flavor of jarred garlic in the escargot garlic butter. (The snails were otherwise nicely prepared, with a little puff pastry cap over each one, which kept them wonderfully hot). Please no garlic from a jar, ever. It has no place in French cooking and made what would have been an otherwise great appetizer just O.K. The other courses are the reason I'll be back.
Our favorite and Yo is an outstanding restauranteur, wonderful ambiance. Thank you
Love this restaurant, chef is fab and so is the service. Always feel like I am in Paris when I eat their if only for a little while.
The owners and staff are really like family. Lovely people who care. Oh, and the rustic yet elegant yet delicious cuisine...FANTASTIQUE!
I am originally from Belgium and had my favorite dish, mussels and french fries. Food was excellent and will definitely go back. Excellent service and very polite staff
Onion soup was outstanding, trout was in too much butter for my taste but otherwise fine. My friend loved the rack of lamb, which I will order next time. Delicious bread. Lovely small dining room w tables well placed; personal service. It is pricey, however.
My husband and I love dining at La Bonne Table. The service is anticipatory and quick when we need something and unpressured when we want to relax and enjoy. The food is always delicious. We appreciate the cozy quaintness of the ambiance. And, we'll keep coming back for all of these reasons!
Wonderful Sunday brunch with my boyfriend. Food was amazing!!! Recommend everyone to come and enjoy La Bonne Table 🥰
We celebrated an anniversary dinner at La Bonne Table, choosing it on account of both its menu and recommendations online. We were very pleased with our choice. The setting is very appealing and the food and service were excellent - bouillabaisse and rack of lamb were our choices preceded by a very tasty pate de maison and a three cheese selection. The maitre d could not have been more professional nor more understanding. The crowd the night we visited was not the usual it being a holiday weekend so the noise level far exceeded the "quiet" for which the restaurant is known and for this he apologized. Nonetheless we were happy to have gone and will hope to return!
Bonne Table is our go-to for good neighborhood food. Not a large menu, rarely changes, no air conditioning, but a delicious salad, solid fish, pork chops and steak, warm responsive service, tasty drinks. They also have a petite patio which we share with our dog.
Wonderful food and such a gem! Loved the French onion soup and lamb!
A great place for pre or post theater meal. I like the intimate setting. Food is excellent and So is the service.
Very nice place and the food was mostly very good, but left thinking we could have eaten as well if not better for 3/4 of the price.
Lovely french restaurant. The location is very cozy and decoration makes you feel like you are in a small restaurant in France. Would recommend the french onion soup, the cheese plate, the muscle dish with lobster bisque, the pork chop, and the crepe suzette.
Outstanding cuisine - the only thing better is the service! Always a great dinner! You can’t miss with La Bonne Table!
