La Bodega - Leawood
Back tables are not very good and get slower service than the high tops.
Love the patio when the weather is nice
Very good food, good service, would definitely go again
La Bodega is always so good! Happy Hour is an amazing value and delicious tapas. The best sangria! Love it all!
La Bodega is one of our favorite spots. However, last night was a bit disappointing. The service was not great, and the restaurant was freezing. On the bright side... The food was delicious as always. Hopefully things will be back on track next time.
Food is always spot on. Great place to catch up with friends or meet a new one. Amber was an intuitive, thoughtful server.
Our server was exceptional!
Thank you for having this excellent restaurant! Beautiful and wonderful. Thank you
Wonderful everything. Perfect. I'll be back often.
We have lived in Spain for three years and very much enjpyed the great food and atmosphere of Spanish bodegas. We hoped to find that here. Unfortunately, we were disappointed.
First the atmosphere, nothing like those in Spain. Would be improved by flamenco background music rather than Americam hits of the 50s and 60s. Would have liked to have heard "Que Viva Espana".
Food - The sangria was good, although my wife makes better. We had two tapas, shrimp in garlic sauce and Tortilla Espagnol. These were both good. Our main dish was Pallea Valenciana, and unfortunately this was not good. It was dry, lacked any taste of saffron, and had very little seafood. We have eaten pallea in Valencia and this was a far, far cry from the real thing. My wife had the flan and I had the goat cheesecake and both of these were quite good.
Bottom line, good for tapas, sangria and desserts but bad for pallea.
Other note: each table had a card listing daily specials. We learned that some of these pertained to all day and some to just happy hour, although this was not noted on the list. For example: for Sunday it listed half-priced sangria. We arrived and got our first glass just before 6pm. When we later ordered another glass we were told that the half-price ended at 6pm, it took a bit of haggling but the waiter gave us our second class at half-price. Point - the card should clearly show which specials are all day and which end at 6pm.
If we go again, it will be earlier and we will stick to tapas and dessert.
Really enjoyed the Spanish coffee -a delicious and amazingly artistic drink that is made at the table! Such a cool experience!
Great Tapas and happy hour. Short ribs superb and stuffed curry salad in peppers excellent. Lots of good menu items but happy hour excellent value. Highly recommend LaBodega.
Overall great restaurant, but it lacked a laid back quality of a tapas bar. Yes I ordered all the tapas at once, but I would have liked it better if they had paced the service to allow the food to linger on the palate, and for me to anticipate my next nibble. Instead what I experienced was a mad dash to the end of a meal. I felt hurried and so next time I will take my time in ordering the tapas. Mind you the staff did not rush me out the door, but with all the food delivered at two or three dishes at time affected my pace.
Food was excellent, but service was horrible. No exaggeration, took forever to get water after we were seated, took forever to get to order drinks, to get drinks, & to order tapas. Tapas came out promptly, but we gave up on ordering an actual meal after spending an hour and a half on drinks and apps, the patio cleared out, we were the only ones left, caught the eye of a different server and asked for the check, this came promptly, go figure.
This was my first time here and the food was delicious. Our waitress wasn't very helpful, especially when we said it was our first time here. We had to move tables because we were so crowded into our spot we couldn't get out of our seats (or get to them in the first place). The tables were so crowded I was repeatedly hit with something as waiters passed by from other tables. Loved the place, but the table arrangement was very distracting and almost uncomfortable.
Noise level was low since we were outside, but inside the noise level was not bearable. The amount of food for the money just isn't a value at all. The sangria was good though.
Your Sangrias have zero alcohol in them so charging $30 for a pitcher of fruit juice is ridiculous. Also, your female servers need to wear bras and stop flashing everyone for tips. My friends and I will not be back to this location.
Fun place with great food. Our only issue is that the food comes out too fast! Very knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff. One of our favorite places.
Great time with Friends. The Sangria was great and the tapas were delicious.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
Poor to common food, much better choices, look further you will be glad you did.
We had a Tapas dinner and it was fantastic. My significant other and I came here years before on one of our first dates. We came back because the food was amazing back then. The food this time was just as good! Highly recommend the Patatas Fritas.
Everything was perfect.
The food was not cooked well
& service was poor. We are not used to this from La Bodega.
The way around 👍
What a fun place for brunch! We dined outside and everything was scrumptous!
Great selection of salads, entrees, tapas and wines. We love to sit in bar area, John the bartender takes good care of us. I'm not really a coffee drinker after lunch but the Spanish coffee is incredible (not to mention the display that goes with the preparation) I crave it all day long but unfortunately not a "to go" item or I would get a weeks worth.
Great place with great food and service. Love the Latin atmosphere.
Sangria was excellent but the food was underwhelming for the price.
Cramped tables made it difficult to enjoy an evening out with my wife. Tapa, some were good, others bad. The dinner meal wasn't worth the $30, way too much rice.
The service was quite slow and when we finally got our last "hot" plate is was cold. We've been here before and enjoyed it. We'll probably give it another try.
My wife and I stopped in for Happy Hour. We both had the white Sangria with champagne. Delightful. We ordered 4 tappa plates and all were exceptional. Many were 1/2 price during Happy Hour so we shared 4. All were delicious. Been a while since we've been to LaBodega but it won't be long before we'll be back. Loved it!
The tapas were delicious. Made with fresh ingredients. Servers were responsive to food allergies concerns.
All around horrible experience from the hostess to the wait staff.
The bottomless mimosas were fantastic and the food was tasty too.
We made a reservation, but it seemed like they were unaware we made one.
We love LaBodega. It is in our top tier of restaurants in the KC metro. And, that is meaningful, given that KC metro is a top spot for foodies.
I was disappointed that we were seated at a high top in the bar area when I had reservations. I would have preferred a booth or regular table. Server never smiled and was slow to take our order, never offered to get us more drinks and was slow to follow up to see if we wanted additional plates as well as presenting our check and collecting payment. When we told her we had never been there she didn't offer any suggestions...not helpful at all. We enjoyed the food so we might try the other location. Everyone we encountered at the leawood location was rude.
My husband, daughter and I had a very nice Fathers Day lunch! My daughter loved her eggs brunch and my husband and I had tasty tapas! So wonderful. Thanks!
Thank you again for the excellent care. We brought a new person for an experience in trying new food. They were most impressed and since they live close by, they'll be frequently using this place for dining out. The food is prepared really well, and tastes excellent. We had an 8pm reservation and the whole staff was so patient as our stay and visiting went until 10pm. Thank you again.
