La Bodega - Kansas City
LOVED La Bodega, made reservations and glad I did, they had a great table set aside for me and took amazing care of us from the minute my wife checked in with the hostess to the end.
The food was delicious and made me want to travel Spain.
Will definitely go back, customer service alone made going back a no brained.
Brunch was phenomenal and the service was great per usual!
Date night with hubs during happy hour. Christy was our server and wonderful! All of the staff were great. The array of offerings of tapas is fabulous - would like to see a few more vegetarian vegetable options and some pilaf. But, that will not stop us from going again and again - fabulous place for date night or time with friends!
Excellent service. Tasty food. Good environment but a little noisy.
We dined outdoors on a beautiful evening. The traffic noise was below the typical noise level inside the restaurant. Good service by "Clayton" (F) and half-price Sangria night hit the spot. (Worth upgrading to their better Sangria wine, imho.)
The tapas and the sangria were very good! The paella and the natilla dessert were good, too. The only food we didn't like was the caldo gallego. The ambiance is good but the artwork on the walls is vulgar so I will not be recommending this restaurant to families with children.
Fantastic experience! Kaysha (sorry if I missed the spelling) was our "culinary guide" for the evening. Wonderful experience. So much left on the menu to try next time and there WILL be a next time.
My daughter and I had a fun and lovely outdoor eating evening! I would recommend!
Our Server was friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious!
It was incredibly loud. Uncomfortably so.
Food was good. Waitress kept disappearing
We needed to be in and out quickly as we had a theatre production to make. We told our server and he expedited things perfectly and we never felt rushed.
Overall it was a great experience. Great food for all preferences including vegetarian and vegan. The environment is very friendly just noisy and there’s not live music to give a smooth touch to the ambience. But this is one of my top choice in Kansas City, MO. Love it!
Very good food. one or two less exciting of a dozen dishes that were great. Service was very good, not great. Will definitely return to try and get it up to 5 stars.
The service was great and the food was excellent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and co-workers.
It is always a treat to visit La Bodega. My boyfriend and I love to stop in for happy hour and enjoy a variety of tapas. The cocktails are excellent!
Food is repeatedly aromatic and flavorful. I love the Estrella Damn draft beer!
My only irritation is the tiny food portions even by Spanish standards.
Service was attentive without being intrusive. The venue is charming. Loved the bright flowers in the outdoor seating. The food was fresh and flavorful.
It was a friend get together. Easy place to share tapas! Great food!
Nice restaurant. Food was great, as was the service. Highly recommend it.
Great happy hour. One of the best in KC! We love the mushrooms and $5 wines
Love labodega! Delicious sangria, the dates wrapped in bacon are just sinful, we always leave happy.
My husband and I really enjoyed everything about La Bodega. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere while having a great time trying out the tapas. Our waitress gave us suggestions, since we had never tried tapas before. We’ll definitely be back!
We loved La Bodega. The atmosphere is cheerful and fun. There is a great variety of tapas and wine and cocktails. We loved the tortilla espanola and the mushrooms. The dessert menu is awesome. Hope to return and try the paella!
Not my absolute favorite but I would recommend.
It was loud, but it was delicious and our waitress was very helpful in us choosing our tapas.
Always a good experience. Will definitely be returning!
I enjoyed the service but the tapas was far overpriced for the product we received. I’d like to see something fresh and with a variety besides chorizo.
Always ...I go and eat way too much!! Their tapas are amazing!! I have an allergy to a spice and the waitress was very on it that I didn’t order anything with it in it!
Loved it! Sat outside and enjoyed the city sounds and Latin inspired music - food and service was awesome!
1st Time diners at La Bodega tapas restaurant. Service and food were excellent. Highly recommend to adventurous souls — not your typical dining experience!
What we love about La Bodga (BLVD location) -The atmosphere - feels like a mini European vacation.
Happy Hour - can't beat the deal
Service - staff are always friendly, and attentive enough without hovering
The food - always delicious!
The food was excellent. Thursday was half price for bottles of wine and we got a wonderful bottle of Spanish wine recommended by our waiter. Service was good as well. Definitely going back!
While I am very fond of La Bodega and have been to both locations many, many times over two many years to count, when I arrived at the Leawood restaurant, on a Friday evening on May 31 and again, on Sunday evening, July 7, I was told by the hostess that I did not have a reservation when I did have a reservation made thru Open Table. I did not have my phone on either occasion as I was with others, so I could not show them the reservation via my phone. I had not brought a copy either time of the paper reservation because I've never needed one when I made a reservation thru Open Table. On the first occasion, after I insisted that the hostess look two more times, she finally found my reservation. On this most recent occasion, Sunday, July 7, the hostess insisted that I did not have a reservation. I asked them (now 2 hostesses) to check again - and then, again - and still was told I did not have my reservation. There was plenty of room, so seating was not a problem. When I arrived back home, I found an e-mail from Open Table saying they were sorry I had not been able to make my reservation at La Bodega. I immediately wrote back and said that not only had I made a reservation, but that my niece and I had spent (with tip) $100 there. So I was credited with points for the visit. Clearly, either the hostesses at La Bodega were completely inept, or did not know how to use the reservation system, or their computer system was not working properly.
The bottom line is that I very much like the food at La Bodega (although I have learned to order tapas a few at a time to avoid them all coming at once), and I like the outside seating at the Leawood location, I strongly recommend that you take evidence of your Open Table reservation so you can avoid the pain-in-the-neck I experienced. I would have been furious if I had not been able to get a seat after making the reservation well ahead of time. I do NOT believe Open Table did anything wrong with my reservation.
Always good food and drink. A recommended location for regulars and newcomers.
The service and food were amazing per usual!!!
As usual the food was good. We enjoy having small plates of several different things.
Excellent service from the entire staff. We enjoy the constant small changes made to the menu. One of our favorite places!
Excellent cioppino, mushrooms, scallops and short ribs! I forgot our waiter's name but when we asked him to choose our wine, his sommelier talents exceeded my expectations!
WE go for lunch and sit in bar area so noise level is quite acceptable. John is the bartender/server in that area and he takes very good care of us. Try the Spanish coffee, fun to watch the preparation and I am starting to crave it, have to try making it myself but afraid I would burn the house down.
