La Bettola di Terroni Ratings and Reviews
We visit this restaurant frequently and am always impressed with the food and the professional service. I noticed that our server had an issue with a guest at the next table and could not help but notice how very patient and professional she was in dealing with the guest's complaint. (By the way, the guest was not very nice to the server and still she kept her composure and professionalism). For this and many other reasons, this is a restaurant who trains their staff well and maintains a high focus on customer satisfaction.
Food was very good. Service ruined the experience for us. 1st time going on a recommendation. Waitress was clearly not happy to be there, snacking in food out of her apron while serving us and constantly chewing food while at our table which was not frequent. Told her our 1st time, no suggestion, upsell or quality check after food arrived although food was great. She is not suited for this type of restaurant, will most likely not return.
The food was good but the service was subpar. Don't appreciate being told what pasta I can put cheese on... The restaurant waitstaff needs to be respectful of their clientele and if someone wants to put cheese on their pasta than they don't need to be scolded by the waitstaff.
Also the chacuterie was expensive but the cheese and the meats were inexpensive options. Ie. Mortadella but not prosciuto.
For those reasons we will not be returning as there are much better options.
We had reservations for noon on a weekday before Christmas, and were seated immediately. The waiter was knowledgeable with respect to the menu and wine list and offered recommendations that we really enjoyed. Bread & oil/chilies were served first, and then our meals came quickly - two pasta dishes and two pizzas, and all were very good.
Overall it was a good experience. The food was fine. No complaints. The server was great - attentive but not in-your-face. The only odd complaint (I'm not sure I should complain) was the food was severed too quickly. The meal began with bread and drinks. Before the second slice of bread touched the oil, salads arrived at the table. The salads were barely consumed and the mains arrived. Not a serious problem. Just a heads up.
Although we Terroni properties, this experience ended poorly. We had been called the day before our dinner whereby the restaurant wanted to confirm that a) we would show up and b) that 2.5 hours had been allocated to our dinner. I thought that was fine and were totally ok with that. We got there 15 minutes early (4:45 for a 5pm start), so I have to think that's a good thing on a Saturday night. At 7:15, some miscellaneous person (to our party) came up to us and said "you said you'd be out in 2.5 hours and your time is up". There was a party setting up and we were totally fine leaving, but that lady (who turned out to be a manager) was the most most obnoxious person we'd ever dealt with in a restaurant and it ruined the warm fuzzy of the meal and the nice night out that we'd had. She glared at us and said nothing like "hey sorry, are you ok...etc". She just wanted to turn over the table (and it GET that) but... We won't go back to that location.
Our server was excellent. Did ask for more parmesan cheese, but that was not available.
Mushroom salad - loved the mushrooms but the actual greens needed more dressing.
Oricchietti was delicious, but just warm & would have liked it to be hotter.
Seafood pasta a bit shy on the seafood.
Food comes out way too fast. Having a menu that reads the way it does, you'd expect time and love put into your plates...not fast food that comes out in less then 10 minutes. Made us feel like food is sitting on the racks pre-made. I understand you are busy (theaters, etc) and want a turnover but not every guests is in a rush. We were advised of a 2 hour turnover and came in understanding this. But to rush us in an hour?
We ordered 2 appetizers at different times and 3 entrees; nothing was ordered all at once. We were done in just over an hour. Will point out that server was great and that your pasta is fantastico!
Service was terrible- there was a large party who was seated next to us, we had to keep tucking in our chairs to let people pass and I think they were taking up the wait staffs attention. The waitress initially came over right as soon as we got to the table, literally I was still taking my coat off and she was like do you want anything to drink- so we asked for a few minutes. She didn’t come back for 15 minutes. It was like this the whole night- we ordered our food and drink at the same time. Food was served by other wait staff. She never checked on us. It took 15 minutes for us to get the bill and another 15 for use to get the card machine. Basically we chose the place because of the quiet atmosphere and reliable food- both of which were good- but I would not go again
The food wasn’t all that great. The pizza was a bit underdone. The Caprese salad could’ve used more than one leaf of basil (it was mostly tomatos with almost non existing dressing).
They don’t have balsamic vinegar for the food or the pizza. The tagliatelle ai funghi was very very bland.
The food took over 45 min, and the cutlery was dirty.
