La Bettola di Terroni
I had not been here in a while but loved the renovation. The food was outstanding as always and the service top notch.
Went there previously and had a good experience as a date night; decided to return again but was very disappointed. We were seated in the large table section of the restaurant (north side) with a large group already seated and the noise level was loud but at least my date and I could have a conversation. A second large group was seated halfway through our dinner and at that point my date and I had almost yell to hear each other. Three other couples / small tables were also around us and we literally all couldn’t leave fast enough. That was a complete failure of management and the front hostess in choosing to seat two tops in an area with very large groups they know will be loud when there was space in the south part of the restaurant that was much quieter. If management and the front hostess staff can’t do their job right, the wait staff and cooks are fighting a losing battle because the overall experience will suck.
great food and ambience for a business meeting. Service was quick and efficient.
A very nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Toronto that shows the chef's talents. It was a good choice.
Expensive but fantastic. Overall atmosphere was excellent.
We were a large group and lunch was enjoyed by all. Very excited about their gluten free menu. It was delicious too and up to the same great standard as the rest of the menu.
Dinner for two people with one appetizer, two mains, two drinks, and two deserts took more than 2.5 hours to serve with no apology or explanation for slow service, as well as numerous forgotten drinks that had to be reordered with no acknowledgment of the mistakes by server.
The beer and wine were excellent, seafood appetizer sooo fresh and very lightly battered (just right)
The special was a beef and veal ragu lasagna AMAZING! No room for dessert or coffee.
Even the bread was very good....crusty and nutty and perfect with our beer to start. Overall would definitely go again and again!!
Excellent food and staff service. Enjoyed restaurant ambiance. Only suggestion is why have people pay for extra cup of regular coffee?
Great place to eat. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Some of the best pizza outside Italy I have ever had. Location was good as well since it is so close to several key places. An excellent place to go before a theatre performance.
Food was amazing and well priced
Pasta is cooked perfectly tasty. Service was just ok. Nothing wrong but not as great as quality of the food
Came here for dinner tonight to bring my friend for her last night before she went to Germany. Drinks were good. Food was great but be cautioned if they ask you to add prosciutto to pizza it’s a 11$, and you can’t even remove anything from a pizza for allergies. Definitely recommend going to Terroni the sister restaurant.
Complimenti per il locale sembra di essere in Italia e complimenti alla direttrice e al suo staff!
One of my absolutely favourite places in Toronto. You can't beat the food and the service.
Good food, excellent service great ambience....perfect for a before theatre meal.
We enjoyed the pizza and the stuffed olives! The service was great and and quick which was important in order to make it to the theatre in time!
This was our second time dining at La Bettola di Terroni. We will be back. We love italian food and they do a great job at combining rustic italian flavors with the elevated dining experience.
The food was fantastic and authentic. Service was excellent. The pasta dishes were absolutely perfect and the pizza was just as I had eaten in Italy. All items are fresh prepared and clearly done with care.
Great location. Great service. Pizza was bland. Go to the other Terronis.
Great wine selection
It was unfortunate that we ended up at small table for two next to a large group so it felt like being in corridor. The home made pasta was perfect but the anti pasta dish for two was just fair,
Unique Italian dishes. Pizza was tasty. Very expensive house wine. Could not get anything for less than $50 for a HALF litre.
Service staff was pleasant. Reservations good.
Food was ok, a little lacking in flavor. Was too loud to carry a conversation with my wife across the table. Tables are so close together that I was closer to my neighbor beside me than my date across from me. Won’t likely return.
Overall the taste of the food was excellent. They have zero flexibility in menu options for substitutions and do not over appetizers that are more traditional like soup or bruschetta.
My husband was sharing my Tiramisu and he found a very small shard of glass in it. We reported it and they took the cost of deserts and cappuccinos off the bill. Luckily he didn’t cut his mouth or swallow it. I thought they should have done more.
Terroni never disappoints. I always enjoy my meals and would recommend this as a great mid priced option.
Would never recommend this place to anyone. The staff are incredibly rude from the moment you walked in the door. Everything you ask for gets you a huge sigh and eye rolling. The worst is when you are told you cannot have your food the way you want it! Also, keep in mind you are on a time limit here. They tell you the next party has arrived so you need to go. Still had wine on the table and yes, we had a reservation.
Service just terrible, too bad because food is so good but the service is terrible, 15 minutes literally before we got a bottle of water , then bread basket 10 minutes after that , we ordered appetizers they came quick and hot but our waitress she walked by 5 times before she decided too clean our table , we had to pour our own wine and water , Great Food but TERRIBLE SERVICE
The food was OK. Very expensive. Small portions. Had the ravioli and the $28 dish was no more than a starter meal.
One of the worst dinners ever. Had the Lamb Ragu pasta. Taste was ok but it was served cold! Nothing worse than a greasy lamb dish. My wife wanted a diet coke. Server informed us that they had no diet drinks. In fact they had no coke at all. What?! Also no freshly ground pepper offered with our food. My friend had the seafood soup dish. No bread offered with this dish. And to end our espressos were like warm.
Somebody's sweater had slipped onto the floor. A waiter spotted it, picked it up and after not locating the owner promptly dropped it back on the floor and went on with his business.
So to sum it up, a pricey after theater dinner that was not enjoyable at all. Service and food! Will not be back.
7:45 reservation for 4 on Saturday 13th April 2019
The menu was very hard to read, even with eyeglasses. The food was practically inedible. It was noisy, with poor lighting and pretty slow service for a restaurant that prides itself on "before theatre eating".
We went at a very busy time it was packed. Therefore reflected in the service. Waiter definitely could not keep up with the whole room of people. That’s when the manager stepped in and took our order. Honestly she save the day. Food was fantastic although they refuse to change anything or switch anything out of any dish. If you want a dish that comes with olives and you don’t like olives you better learn to like olives or order something else.
Love this place and the food is very good. The hostess was extremely rude so unfortunately we will no longer go here or recommend it to a friend.
Bettola has a simple menu, but the food is excellent. Service is good. A good list of wines.
Excellent food and service, was there for a business meeting with a group of 8, they offered us the chefs table and it was perfect. I asked the wait staff to bring an assortment of appetizers for the group and they were absolutely fantastic! Mains were also delicious and hot, decors and ambiance. Will be back for sure!
good food and service. But I object to the default tipping starting at 18% rather than the more traditional 15%.
Excellent food with great service! My pasta was equally as good as pasta dishes I've had at Agritourismo in Tuscany. Great!
We booked here for dinner prior to the theatre and were sad we had to leave. By far one of the best meals we've ever had. The food is delicious, light, fresh and flavourful. We tried several dishes - that were all amazing - but never felt heavy or over-full, even after dessert! The staff was friendly and it has a laid back and sophisticated feel without being stuffy and pompous.
Can't wait to go back and would recommend to anyone.
Our server was fantastic - giving us honest opinions of what dishes/desserts were best, quickly removing plates and glasses without hovering, and she was charming. Food was excellent. Only sorry we haven't been here before!!
Food was good but the price is on highrr side. For duck ravioli (13 small pieces for $28!)
Service was good and we were seated at our preferred seats
I had a wonderful dining experience with my friend. We enjoyed the excellent service and we were sat a very nice table near the window.
The food was excellent; however, I found the kitchen should stop adding salt to the food. I had the orecchiette pasta dish which I have had at other restaurants around the globe and though the sausage is salty enough, within less than an hour my heartbeat was pounding quite quickly which lasted for a few hours, as I am sensitive to salt, because I have hypertension.
Please in future refrain from adding salt to your wonderfully prepared dishes. Let the customer add salt if they so desire.
My friend later told me that even the salad we shared was a bit salty.
