The food was superb. I ordered lobster and my husband ordered steak. The lobster was cooked perfectly. There was more lobster meat in this dish than I have had at lobster feasts. My husband is still talking about the steak - how well it was cooked and the size of the portion.
The service was not quite up-to-par. The restaurant was full and our waiter seemed to have too many tables to oversee.

Always a pleasure with a quieter ambiance, such nice service along with superb food. Their move is still delayed but we bet will be beautiful once accomplished- Stay tuned!

Excellent restaurant. This is our go-to place for really nice meals. Excellent food and service in an environment where people at the table can easily hear each other. We're sorry that the current location is now closed, but we look forward to its opening in 2019(?) elsewhere in Old Town.

Temp closing while relocating. A treasure in Old Town. Wonderful French dining at reasonable prices. Work back to this name to see when they reopen, probably on Washington Street. Loved the goose liver and soufle. Old world service.

We will miss this restaurant. The last day of operation is 12/24 and it will probably be a year until it opens at its new location. We had wonderful venison. One of our friends had the roast duck and commented that it was very good.

We've been going to La Bergerie forever; it's our go-to place for special occasions, traditional French food; and a lovely, elegant meal. We never tire of it, and the Grand Marnier souffle is fabulous.

We will miss it terribly. Our meal was outstanding. Really, one of the best ever. A real shame La Bergerie is going away.

My favorite French Resturant, great food and service. Excellent wines. Sorry to see it closed after all these years.

Rare to find a quiet place for special conversation and outstanding traditional french cuisine, but La Bergerie was exactly what we wanted. It was obvious that the short staffing was unexpected, so the manager and wait staff were eager to please even they were rushed and delayed. Duck L'orange was especially good.

Best French Food I've ever tasted!! I had the onion soup, foie gras and grilled steak. The onion soup and foie gras was the best I have had. I have travelled all around the world and I have never tasted better than at La Bergerie. I have been here several times and I have never been disappointed. The employees treat you authentically like life-long friends. In such a busy area such as DC, hospitality is a rare and it was a very welcomed surprise to find in very good restaurant. I had my steak with béarnaise sauces and I wanted so much to lick the sauce dish but I instead use the fresh French bread they provide with the dinner. The crème burlee was so good with actual vanilla caviar and not vanilla extract. I also had a scallop. . .I generally do not like scallop but tasted it based on my husband's encouragement. It was like heaven with it being so light, delicate and fluffy. I recommend this place to everyone for any special occasion or treat or just because you want some really good food!!
