La Bergamote - Hell's Kitchen
Open table is responsible for the low qualification. Contact me at 6465733365 and I will explain why you messed up. Hope does not repeat in the future
Great outdoor seating. Shrimp was delicious!
Very good food, except the chicken sausage.
The reservation was for outdoor seating which was all we felt comfortable with but there was no outdoor seating. The server kept getting really close to us so she could read the menu and write down what we were ordering letter by letter and made us uncomfortable due to the lack of social distancing. We loved the appetizer from the Valentines day menu but the mains were just ok. Overall we were still happy enough with the experience until the server came and picked up our unfinished glasses of wine because someone was waiting for the table. It was very upsetting and really quite shocking. She apologized when we mentioned it but we won't be back.
The food was delicious and the service great! Will return without a doubt.
lovely server. solid food choices and good quality. nice ambience. i'll be back!
We had reserved outdoor dining but when we arrived on time no table was available outside!Saying she didnt know if it would be warm enough, the one employee said shed reserved an indoor table.!we went to look at it and there were no open windows or ventilation ,as well as having only chairs with high legs-not too comfortable for older folks.
The Covid-19issues concern and wish for outdoor dining was main factor.
After waiting til people left we were seated at a very small table.’this is really a cafe-with very nice food,of limited diversity.
That said ,we had a delicious lunch of carrot soup, quiche and cappuccino..the French pastries, for which they are known, look delicious, and wish we had room for them.
I think they have excellent menu and perhaps one would enjoy a full lunch menu or dinner here under normal circumstances.
i would return at that time and hope the seating and ambiance matches the food.
Food was very good and outdoor seating ideal (though more umbrellas would be helpful). Waiter was very pleasant but only came out to check with us after we had finished eating and we had to go inside to request the check. Otherwise we were very pleased.
Good for outside dining in NYC during these crazy, pandemic times. I will be back to experience more!
Really happy you're there and open. I take Covid into account for the
service being very slow and food coming out cold. I would definitely come back.
Wonderful food and the waiter was very nice. The outside seating and street was just “okay”. I believe they are better known for brunch and lunch, which the setting seemed optimized for. Nonetheless, the quality of food was great and we will stop by again!
Outdoor patio seating was nice with distance between tables due to COVID-19. Excellent Burger (I don’t eat bacon so I had without, so review not based on full bacon-burger) with a lovely side salad.
Enjoyed Valentine’s Day with a corner romantic table. Was not rushed and was very happy with the service. Food was good even if the menu was limited. Wonderful deserts.
Loved the croque monsier and hubby loved his eggs Benedict. Thank you
A go to neighbor hood place for breakfast, lite lunch and dinner.
I love the food, especially their lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes - YUM,& an excellent croque madame, too. And the service is very good.
I often have breakfast meetings here. But the music is sometimes too loud to have a decent conversation, and today was one of those times. Please turn the music down to a moderate level...
Food was quite good (there for breakfast) but the service was friendly but quite slow, especially given we were the only customers. I would go again and see how the dinner is.
We were surprised when we walked in to see it was a cafe with some limited seating. I was expecting it to be a restaurant and booked based on the menu and expecting a restaurant atmosphere. The food & service were very good.
Four of us went for dinner after going to see The Wrong Man next-door. We loved everything about it and most especially the staff. They were helpful, accommodating and full of smiles. I wish we lived nearer.
We did not have the fabulous looking desserts, but their soup and salad and sandwiches were great.
Will go back.
What a great find this was. Our meals were fantastic. The server was attentive and friendly. We will be back.
If you are in they neighborhood do stop by. Not sure I would make a special trip. The muscles were excellent, and desserts fabulous
Nice menu at reasonable prices but I resent being charged for a coffee refill.
Excellent tasty food. Small restaurant. Reservations highly recommended.
Great service and great food
I had lunch here with an old friend who had just arrived on a cruise ship. Comfortable light bistro fare. Onion soup was tasty, but the crouton was so tough and chewy that I needed to use my knife to cut it up. I surmise that they did not toast the crouton enough.
Service was attentive and competent.
Great food and Atmosphere and would definitely recommend you here for breakfast, Brunch or Lunch
This is a great, little restaurant which deserves increased patronage. Everything is well executed and the food is superb. The deserts selection is to die for, and the staff is always one step ahead of you in catering to your needs.
We liked La Bergamote on previous visits, but this time their gaspacho was way too spicy and their salade nicoise wasn't as good as on previous occasions, with the tuna not really medium rate. The restaurant is an informal, cute space but charging $25 for corkage in a place like this, with a so-so wine list, grates on me. We probably won't go back, except perhaps for a dessert, since their desserts are the stars at this restaurant.
With MCC and A.R.T. theaters now back to back, a bunch of these little wine bar/bistros have sprung up on the far west side of Hells Kitchen. La Bergamote is a nice enough entry with wide windows and three little rooms. The kitchen is tiny and food is slow to come out, which is tough if you're trying to catch a show. We therefore decided to go with pate, cheese and salad, all of which were tasty and made a perfectly fine early dinner on a warm night with a glass of chilled wine.
Great food and service!
Our office just moved to Eleventh ave. And we were happy to discover this hidden gem.
Very slow and inattentive service. Not enough staff for Friday the food was very good, takeout snacks and bread were very good
Only 2 girls for the small space and outside. Took too long to refill water and coffee, but the quality would bring us back but only if in the neighborhood
It was not much of a French restaurant other than the cheese plate and the pate, everything else on the limited menu was mostly a mix of American and Italian cuisine. It was good but not what we expected from a French restaurant.
great location and service. didn't like the steak sandwich as it had a big piece of gristle. the other food was fantastic though.
Perfect, quiet mid morning breakfast. This European spot delivered well prepared food, very courteously and promptly. Coffee came with complimentary hot foamed milk. Brioche accompanied our eggs. Quiet and classy.
Inconsistent service. French onion soup was served cold. The other one was served hot. They replaced it however. And they flickered the lights on/off for us to leave. We had to sit and wait longer for the food. The restaurant was empty and I feel that they shouldn’t have to rush us out. However, the food was tasty and delicious !!!
Loved everything about this place, servers friendly and accommodating, food delicious.
Charming little neighborhood bistro, delicious entrees and desserts!
Our French onion soup and coq au vin were delicious, but we didn’t know we would be eating in a small bakery full of families with small children. We could have used a good cocktail, but, alas, they do not have a full bar so we settled for a bottle of wine that complemented the food well. We took a blind shot, and if we lived in the neighborhood it would probably be a good breakfast/lunch spot, but I don’t recommend it for dinner.
