I have been here for lunch but not dinner and thought that it would be great to try during restaurant week this week. It was wonderful!!! The roasted beet salad was the best I've ever tasted and my daughter had the duck which was superb. For dessert we had the crème brulee and a strawberry crepe and they were the crowning touches to an excellent meal!!!
The host and our server were so welcoming and courteous, which is a rarity nowadays in most places, that it made our dining experience all the more pleasurable.
C'est magnifique! We look forward to returning soon!
Love this restaurant. This time I went for brunch and it was lovely.
I’ve been a fan of their classic French food since I moved to the area over 15 years ago.
The service is always great and I have so many favorites on the menu it’s hard to single anything out. That said... the steak and Fries are amazing and the creme brûlée is the perfect chaser, lol. Seriously, anything you try will be great and there are great vegetarian choices too. You can really bring anyone to this fabulous cosy gourmet cafe in Media and they will find something to order they’re going to love.
P.S. try the French Martini. You’re welcome. 😘
Love the brunch, excellent service, clean bathrooms, friendly staff, reasonably priced for the area, delicious food and full bar. I can only enjoy this place seasonally as I'm only in this side of town twice a year. When I'm in this city this is the first place I come for brunch and usually the last one before returning home. Nothing in the menu will disappoint you and hostess will accommodate you as per your request in the OpenTable notes when you make the reservation. Open Tuesday-Sunday.
They absolutely have the best red mussels that I have ever tasted. They're even better the next day over spaghetti.
We were very pleased with the menu choices and the prepared dinner we were served.
Very enjoyable evening with grandaughter. Food was. Fine and service was very good,
We always dine with you before going to Hedgerow Theatre. We always enjoy ourselves.
Great tasting food and helpful server; Friday evenings were just nosier than past visits so it was harder to have conversations around the table of 6.
Always delicious food and great service at La Belle Époque!
One of our favorites! Great Crepes and specials! Staff is friendly & attentive.
My husband and father had the mussels appetizer and raved about how great it was. Good flavor and very tender mussels. I had the bacon and Brie crepe. It was amazing. Everything we had was really tasty and our server was wonderful. Very nice and attentive. We love this place and have been here several times and always enjoy our meals.
Back in town for a month & I had to come my very 1st day, as always, the best. Delicious food, yummy drinks - full bar - brunch mimosas specials for $6 Sat & Sun. Pretty awesome service too, can't go wrong. We were seated by the window (as I requested), ordered the French Toast, Eggs Benedict, side of potatoes, mimosa, coffee & nonetheless, French 75.... Oooooooh, mmm-mmmmmm, ah.
You'll understand when you take a bite. Place is cozy and there's outside seating on beautiful days. Street meter parking available.
Started with cocktails. The flutes of champagne with ginger were refreshing. The mussels were a good starter and we all ordered crepes. I had the chicken/mushroom/spinach/cheese crepe. Husband ordered the same but he thought it had too much spinach in it. Daughter ordered the La Mere which had a nice mix of shrimp, crab and lobster. Wait staff at the bar and tables are pleasant and knowledgeable about the liquor/food. Very pleasant atmosphere for a busy Friday night.
Location and atmosphere was great. Service was great. Food not so great. Let's start with the rolls, that was pretty good however the butter did have a slight funky taste to it. Next was the soup. Cream of mushroom. Pretty delicious. Salad...was ok. Nothing to brag about. Escargot, now I can not say for myself how this tasted. It's snail. So that's pretty gross to me in general however the 2 people who had the nerve to try said it was really good. We ordered 2 dinners of the salmon with potatoes and green beans. The salmon was in my opinion and in my daughters opinion not good at all. I thought it had a strong fishy smell. I know it's fish but it was a pretty strong smell. The potatos I was excited to see that they were actually made with real potatoes and not the fake boxed kind. They had a very strange flavor and a horrid after taste. Green beans are green beans. The other dinner was a pork chop, it was over cooked and dry. Mashed was tasty. Asparagus was not edible. I could not bite though the stringy layer. Last was the hanger steak. It was ok. The best part of that plate was the French fries. They were a hit for all four of us. We then had a dessert each. A mixed berry crepe and a Nutella crepe. They were both great. Other 2 dessert was the vanilla bean crème brûlée. Well this was the last straw and the nail on the coffin. I was so looking forward to mine. One of my favorite desserts. Well the damn thing was burnt. Completely burnt. I would have liked to ask for a new one but I was just ready to leave by that point. This was my oldest daughters 14th birthday dinner. It was supposed to be a nice surprise. New foods to try, I actually picked that place based on the escargot and the ratings. Unfortunately it was not enjoyable for us.
We had an enjoyable dinner with friends. The only issue was one entree that was rack of lamb was not tender. Everyone else's entree was very good!
Never disappoints. When we want a guaranteed nice dinner we come here.
The food was very good. Service - well...
Our James was very nice. He got caught settling bills for a group of 7 that wanted separate checks. He was totally involved so we were left unserved for a good 15 minutes. Meanwhile, there were 2 other people walking around who didn't help him or come over and acknowledge us. I thought that was poor teamwork and customer service. James was very sweet and tried to make up for it.
The crepes are especially good, but we also enjoyed the trout and the cheese plate appetizer. Our waiter had good recommendations, when asked, was friendly and had a European style about him. We were there for early Sunday dinner and it was quiet. I've been there for Sunday brunch, when it is busier.
Met a friend at LaBelle Epoque for dinner, which also happened to be a Dining Under the Stars night. Dining Under the Stars is a unique dining experience that the awesome town of Media offers May - September. To Be Experienced.
Service was attentive without us feeling pressured. Menu selection was imaginative and
varied, can't imagine not finding something to your liking. Excellent beverages and food.
This is not my first visit and will not be my last.
Relaxing and fulfilling evening.
Exceptional in every aspect! Wes is an exceptional server and the cuisine is outstanding!
Great little French-inspired restaurant with high-quality food. This was my 3rd or 4th time there and it was always good.
Food was great for a night out with the girlfriend!
Dining under the stars
Rendezvous with college roommate!
We had not been to La Belle Epoque for a couple of years... but, after the meal we had, we will be back soon! The four of us all got different meals and all of them were awesome!
Pleasant experience with attentive service. Delicious, flavorful filet. Generous portions.
we took our niece out for some crepes.
the service was exceptionally good and crepes delicious!
I had the house specialty - the steamed mussels. Excellent. I was disappointed, however that I was not permitted to order an appetizer before the other half of my party, a business colleague, showed up. I was trying to expedite the meal since my colleague was stuck in traffic and then finding it hard to find parking. Another very large party came in just before she arrived and so did not get our food until almost an hour after I arrived, on time, for the reservation. Waiter was very nice, but it seems unnecessarily strict to expect patrons waiting for other guests to not be able to order food. I'll think twice before coming to the restaurant again.
Good French dinner (minus the long wait); I had snails & duck breast & was happy to pay $15 corkage to bring my own wine (the wine list is low-medium price & the quality level doesn't match that of the menu.
Always an exceptional experience for us at LaBelle!
Met a couple preparing for marriage and enjoyed easy conversation and some excellent food!
We usually have a good meal here. The special was halibut so went for it. It was pretty tasteless and bland. The couscous and white asperagus were okay.
I like the place and will perhaps just stick with the usual foods on the menu in the future.
Excellency service and food. Nice table by the window.
I had a very good glass of rose wine, nice and dry from the Loire valley, the correct domain. The pork chop was perfectly cooked, crisp white asparagus, and good mashed potatoes. Served American Rustic style, it was definitely not French. The flavor was bland. The Caeser salad was overpriced for bottled dressing, the Crepes Suzette were fine. It was my second visit. I had a nice hanger steak and fries; not bad. It's kind of a Bistro style menu, my wife loved the trout filet. It's a little pricey for the cuisine.
This was the 5th time I have eaten here. All 4 times were amazing but I have to say I was very disappointed in my lunch. I chose the Lar Mer crepe. The crepe itself was hard cold and not very appetizing. The seafood melody inside was extremely salty (and I love salt). I should have said something and sent it back but I know it would have taken forever to have ordered something else and I was on a time constraint. Not sure if I will go again.
food was excellent, prices were fair, service was indifferent, noise level was a din
Very nice restaurant with great food, appropriate portions, varied menu. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
One of the best restaurants in Media -- easily. Excellent escargot, cocktails, and even the chicken -- superb.
Best restaurant in Media! Staff is wonderful. Excellent wine list and outstanding food.
Excellent brunch outside on a beautiful day watching the Clydesdale horses! What a bonus.
