Dining experience was meet with positive thoughts from first time diners within the group. I feel that the staff made entire group, who varied in age a positive experience. The menu was great and the food was served hot and beautifully prepared.
The atmosphere was great. Really noisy but as the time got later yep the noise decreased. Great food except for the dessert, the Crepes. Should have picked something different. The Crepe was good but the filling tasted more like strawberry preserves. In the past we have going to other restaurants and their Crepes had fresh berries, or fruit inside not preserves. This was the only negative about the meal. I had the escargot and the duck which were outstanding. My wife had the diver scallops and she wouldn’t even share with me because she liked them so much. Overall great restaurant with only one exception the dessert.
Dined during Media's April Restaurant Week. Restaurant offered a 4 course meal for $35. There were two options for soup/salad, two for appetizers and two for entrees. Multiple choices were available for dessert. I opted for the Red Pepper & Tomato soup w/a dollop of sour cream vs the Beet salad. I do not like Tomato soup, but this soup was delicious. I decided to try the snails for the appetizer vs Mussels. Wow, was I so pleasantly surprised that I loved the escargot! I am now sorry I've never tried escargot sooner. I ordered the Scallops for my entrée. I believe the other option was Duck. The Scallops came with Risotto and something else that I cannot recall. I do not like Risotto so I asked if my entrée could be served with the Au gratin Potatoes along with the Julienne Vegetables that were being offered with the Duck. My waiter spoke to the chef and my request was honored. I had the Berry Crepe for dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire meal! I cannot wait to dine at La Belle Epoque again!! My friend opted out of the Restaurant Week options. She went for the Salade Verte and the Boeuf Bourguignon (French Stew). She also really enjoyed her stew.
After living in Media for years I finally go to LaBelle. Loved it! We had Sunday brunch; the menu was extensive and everything we had was fab. Will go again!
Service was slow. Bathrooms need work.
Food is usually good.
La Belle never disappoints and is probably one of our favorite restaurants. The ambience, food and service is always exceptional.
Had an amazing dinner. Rolled the dice on French food for Date night, and very happy we did. The Mussels were probably the best I ever had. Not usually a fan on mussels in a red sauce, but they knocked it out of the park. The rabbit entre was fantastic. I was skeptical about rabbit, but once again, one of the better dishes I have had out. Service was great, waiter was on point with everything. It was a quaint little spot. Looking forward to dining there again and again in the future. Highly recommended.
You will be very satisfied with the service and the menu.
First time this past weekend. Excellent service, atmosphere and food. Everyone loved their entrees, steak, chicken, and trout. The bouillabaisse was just ok. The wine list is definitely in need of a Sancerre. We all would definitely go again!
Loved our waiter!
Love this place. It's good food (oh, those mussels!) and the waitstaff is friendly, attentive and helpful. They also don't laugh at my dreadful French accent!
The cheese plate was lovely. The ambiance is lovely. The cocktails are lovely. The crêpes are advertised as being Crêpe de Bretagne. They are not. The dessert crêpes were, which was surprising, as the savory crêpes were not. I honestly don't even know what they were, but they sure as shootin' weren't as advertised. I ordered the poulet, but it lacked flavor entirely. NOW. That said, one of my dining companions had the beouf bourginon, and another had the salmon, which they raved over. So I guess your mileage may vary. But if you're expecting crêpes de Bretagne, you ain't gonna get 'em.
Mussels were outstanding .good menu.allowed you to relax and enjoy a meal without being rushed .
La Belle Epoque was great - we were a party of 8 and everyone really enjoyed their meal!
What a treat. Great food and service. Mussels are the best ever.
We went for the Valentine special and were delighted.
Our compliments the the chef and staff for a wonderful experience.
My wife and I frequent the restaurant for special occasions and every day meals. After about a dozen or so visits we have yet to be disappointed with La Belle at any level. From the delicious menu options to the wonderful service I full heartedly recommend La Belle for anyone who is looking for an amazing meal.
Service was a little slow. Menu has not changed in a while. Need more wine options.
The place needs to be cleaned and a new indoor decor.
Went with my girlfriend to a much needed night out. I enjoyed a glass of Cabernet, and Chimay ale. She had an Old Fashioned. Drinks were a great match. The seafood crepe and porkchop were amazing. The baby carrots were actually regular carrots cut small and cooked perfectly. We made many jokes about this. They were hilarious.
All in all a very very good experience, relaxing, comforting, and just a tad romantic
Will be going back
Food was not great - staff was less than attentive. Won’t go back
Ronan makes the best Martini in Media. No competition.
Very comparable to bistro la minette in queens village
We had a wonderful evening! The service was attentive and food were delicious! Must try their mussels and dunk their hot rolls into the au jus!!! Magnifique!!!
We have never had a bad meal here! Service is great and attentive. Last Sunday of the month they have a jazz quartet which is wonderful. That drew us in on a Sunday night! Great addition! Wines are delish! Hangar steak is notable and enjoyable!
The food was good but cold. It would have been immensely better on warmed plates.
Service was terrible. Waited over an hour for our meals. Food quality not that great. Unfortunately a one-and-done for me.
It was our first time and won't be our last! The service was impeccable , the food was wonderful and atmosphere equally good.
We just love this restaurant! We have been going there for several years and have never had a bad meal or experience. Best French food since La Camargue & Le Bec Fin!
We went to eat after going to the Media Theater. What a delightful meal. The $35.00 meal was outstanding. Onion soup. Beef Wellington and a sweet crepe for dessert. It was well worth much more than that. Go and enjoy.
Food was outstanding, and that’s from someone who travels and eats out every week in some pretty upscale spots around North America. Lots of intricate flavors. We had the mussels as an app, the Beouf, and a bacon and Brie crepe that was killer.
Good little find. Nice small bistro, nothing fancy but good food and people.
Watch out for Apple Maps, our GPS was pretty confused finding the place!
La Belle Epoque is one of our area favorites. Has classic bistro-style French dishes, including a selection of savory crêpes. They now have a liquor license and a reasonable wine selection. The noise level is low enough that you can actually have a conversation in this bistro. The waitstaff are attentive and very helpful.
If you're looking for a restaurant with good food, wine, and ambiance, this place will not disappoint. I usually order crepes (savory and sweet available). There is always a choice of several good wine by the glass options. Be sure to give yourself a little extra time to find parking. There is a public garage just a half block away. This is a consistently good place to go with knowledgeable servers.
The food was ok, nothing spectacular. There were 2 young children eating at a table and watching a video while we dined - I think they were the children of our server - they were well behaved but our server seemed to pay more attention to them than her tables....and there was a hair in my salad which is not enjoyable.
Food and service were very good. We especially liked that we were seated immediately, though we had arrived 30 minutes before our reservation.
This is a very nice place to grab dinner for date night or with friends. A tad on the expensive side but wonderful food.
It was our first time having eating at this place. We had lunch it was very good, fresh and tasty. It has a nice French flair to the food . We will return to try some of the other menu items like the selection of crepes and salads they offer on the lunch menu.
Wes , our server, is always the best ever! He makes every day dining very special for us.
another wonderful evening at a favorite spot for my wife and I. it was a snowy night and great fun with our friend Ronan behind the bar
One of my favorite places in Media. Very good ambiance and offerings. They also have a substantial menu of crepes which, incidentally, aren’t very good. Stick with the esgargot, chicken, and Beef Bourguignon. A fine local bistro.
