Visiting Samoset for a birthday weekend. Food was good but not great. Seafood stew was really seafood in sauce. Needed pasta or a broth. Steak was done nicely but fries were not all crispy. Expensive drinks ($16 martini!) Not a great value.
Good menu and good food. School vacation week- understaffed, a bit loud with younger kids out of parental control. I have been there when it is not vacation week and services has been good.
The food was average, service slowish. Beautiful view probably is how they justify such high prices.
We always come here to celebrate our belated Valentine's Day weekend. The food was delicious, quickly served & nicely prepared! The drinks were yummy too! Dessert was waiting in our room-chocolate covered strawberries & wine! 5 stars from us! See you next year❤️
The table was ready when we got there, the server was quickly at the table giving out menus and taking drink orders. Food was delivered on time, but not rushed. The food was very good and we had an excellent bottle of wine.
We were four people and all enjoyed their food very much. We returned the next night and at least one had the same meal and others ordered what someone else had had the night before. I think our server was Christienne in any case she was great, discreet and flawless in her delivery.
Great brunch buffet selections but poor service for beverages and plate removal
The wait staff was friendly and professional. Our waitress gave great food guidance, and her service was excellent. The food was delicious and the portions were good. There is a good variety of pasta, meat and seafood.
Cerra was fantastic! She was very thorough and efficient but gave us adequate time/ space to enjoy our family time
Not for vegetarians
We were looking forward to dinner, included with our stay at the Samoset Resort. Unfortunately as vegetarians, we had one entree choice, and as a gluten-free vegetarian, didn't have one choice. The kitchen sent out two pasta dishes with mushrooms, peas and peppers in a light garlic wine base. Both dishes were average, nothing we would ever recommend or want again. The gluten-free pasta was overcooked, a perfect accompaniment with the gluten-free toast they sent out when we arrived, as well as the $21 cheese plate consisting of tasteless soft cheeses.
Service was great and the beverage was the best part of the meal. Save your dinner plans for one of the many local restaurants.
La Bella Vita has an elegance that reserves for itself room for the casual. We were a party of five and found it to be a lovely place to celebrate the occasion for which we were dining out. The atmosphere of the Samoset and the ambiance of the restaurant were appreciated, as was the good service and the splendid assortment of appetizers, soups and salads, and entrees on the menu. The wine selection was ample as well. We shared appetizers and wine, but each of us ordered a separate entree and were individually pleased with the results of our selections. The servings were generous enough that we all passed on the dessert menu, despite its appeal. Overall, a fine dining experience. I would definitely recommend La Bella Vita to a friend or acquaintance.
I made reservations online which weas confirmed via email. Good thing it wasn't to busy and we were able to be seated. The host stated he could not find our reservations for 2. I offered to show our confirmation # and he said that didn't help and wouldn't be needed. My boyfriend ordered a $35 dinner and his meat which was ordered med rare came out well done with no pink. Our waitress did take his meal off the bill. I would not recommend using the online reservations due to beibg unreliable.
Excellent food and phenomenal service - the best service I've had in the local area in months! The dishes are creative, and even the descriptions of each one make you want to try them all. I will definitely be back again soon. I realize that La Bella Vita is an Italian restaurant, but I would encourage the owners to add more french wines to their inventory. If you haven't been here, go try it!!!
We very much enjoyed our dinner saturday night. Not only was our steaks delicious, we
we're fortunate enough to be staying at the Samoset Resort during the changing of the trees.
Everything couldn't have been better.
Celebrated our 20th wedding Anniversary by having an excellent dinner. The ambiance was lovely and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're thinking of celebrating or just having a nice meal
Beautiful view and great pizza, but service is slow and (when we went) forgetful. Ravioli entree was cold and bland when it arrived. Wine was of a vintage newer than stated on the wine list.
There were 6 of us dining and everyone enjoyed their meal. Great wait staff and great food!!
Absolutely amazing place. The waitress couldn't been more nice :) and the guy who brought us to the table was awesome. We also went to the bar for drinks and the was really nice to! Definitely this 10 out of 10 stars :)
Loved the atmosphere, i was celebrating my anniversary and it was the perfect spot! The views of the ocean and the soft lighting were beautiful. Great wine list and specialty cocktails. Dinner was very good and service was great! I will return next year!!
The service at this restaurant was absolutely horrible. It took 10 minutes for a server to come greet us and she was extremely rude. The manager knew nothing about the bottled wine list, and I've never had worse food in my life. I'm appalled the amount of money people pay to stay at the Samoset and have to have an experience like that. They couldn't pay me to eat there again.
The service was second to none. The food was absolutely wonderful , portioned just right and tasted amazing. plus you can't beat the view. Can't wait to go back.
Especially appreciate the small portions options. Could have a wider beer selection but enjoyed what I had. Four people in our party and everyone was satisfied. Quiet and lovely for conversation.
Quality of lobster was poor. Would not order again.
I have lived in this area for quite some time and had never visited La Bella Vita. Probably because we have so many great restaurants in Camden and Rockport. We ventured their last night for dinner with my parents visiting from out of town. What a nice surprise. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. Our server Katie was efficient, and delightful. She charmed my dad with her warm nature and she was attentive without being obtrusive. I had the Lobster Ravioli and they were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their entrees but we all raved about dessert. The Creme Brulee sampler was a big hit! I loved the Tiramisu. I recommend going with the smaller portion of the entree so you can truly enjoy dessert. Lovely. Great job!
Great setting. Lobster was the best. Other nights the bar food was very good(pizza).Had a nice wine and beer lists.
Husband's triple filet mignon, great; my lobster tail could have been bigger, the steak, good; would have liked mashed potatoes less dry and more than two stalks of asparagus. Tiramisu had too much whipped cream, not enough cake. Cocktails and calamari, great. Overall experience for this dinner, past dinners and lunches have been very good.
This was our third trip to Samoset resort and we always eat at their restaurant the first night. The food is average, certainly not special. The ambience and service were above average. We will eat here again on our next trip.
Loved it! Great menu! Excellent meal, excellently served! We enjoyed every bite, every sip and every moment of our visit!!!!
La Bella Vita does an excellent job with their Sunday Brunch, nice place to have a relaxing brunch overlooking the golf course and the ocean.
Amazing food and friendly staff. Beautiful place to take someone for a wonderful experience.
Let me start by saying that it was a Labor Day Weekend that we made our reservation which is always a busy time. That being said my wife and I had a less than stellar experience. The service was pleasant but slow. It was over 15 minutes from the time we sat down until our waitress stopped by our table to tell us that she would be with us in a minute. When she did come back to take our drink order it was another 15 minutes before our drinks arrived at the table. We ordered a Caprese Insalate to start which had pretty small tomatoes that could have been riper given the season. My wife ordered the Pappardelle which was the highlight of the meal and it was really excellent and the reason why I give 4 stars instead of 3 for the food. My veal on the other hand was dry and just warm by the time it hit the table.
On the plus side we sat outside on a beautiful night with lovely views.
One head scratcher was that after we had been seated for 10 minutes or so a hostess came to our table to ask our names because they hadn't written it down or something. We gave them the name and a few minutes later I received an email through Opentable letting me know that my reservation was cancelled at my request. No idea why. We weren't late and they took our name to confirm the reservation when we arrived and I never requested it.
The food was good, but our cremebrulee was not flamed up hat evening it seemed like it was done the day before our waitress was not very good for dinner but for breakfast our waiter was amazing
The food nd service were both excellent. We were seated at just the type of table that I had requests. Thanks Open Table
Calamari and Rolletini Appetizers were great.
Chicken Parmesan was good.
Lobster pasta was too salty to be edible. Lobster bisque was less than luke warm and seemed very starchy.
The room is nice. The service is decent. Some dirty dishes were left on nearby tables after the patrons had left - I don't care for that. The food wasn't seasoned properly, too salty. A couple tweaks could make this place significantly better.
Cassie is very sweet and attentive.
The two girls who showed us to our table were quite snooty and a little pompous, it may have been the atmosphere, not sure since it was the first time dining here. The service was ok but not great, however nice view overlooking the golf course and the food was delicious.
Dining here has been consistent. We have been here 3 times this summer and have not been disappointed.
We tried earlier than day of dining - a week ahead, then a day ahead, and were unable to change our original very early reservation (only available I was told). We finally were able to make the switch, which involved 3 restaurant employees. That evening, we were led to our table in a 90% empty restaurant! I cannot imagine why it was such a production to change our time. We were there about 2 hours, and never saw the majority of the tables filled. Weird.
Beautiful golf course and water view. Seafood stew was excellent. Great late night pizza too. Servers attentive and friendly. Be aware that this is a family friendly resort, so not exclusively adult dining. One negative - Wine is too pricey - a single glass of Kim Crawford for a dollar less than the price of an entire bottle in the store down the street!
