La Bella Vita Ristorante in enoteca Lounge

We very much enjoyed our visit. The table was in the perfect spot, the server was polite, and friendly. Our food was very good, and the atmosphere was very pleasant!
We had one of the most well-prepared Italian dinners than I have ever had! The Barbabietola Arrostita (beet salad) and Caprese Insalate were perfectly balanced with generous portions of beautiful heirloom quality vegetables and just the right amount of dressing. My main course was the "Old World" Bella Filet Duo, which was so exquisitley prepared that I had to stop myself from licking the plate and my husband devoured his perfect Tagliolini Alla Cabonara!
We also ate at the Enoteca Lounge where you can get many items that are on the formal dinner menu, but in a more casual atmosphere, and without dinner reservations. We had the following, and all were amazing:
Crispy Brussels Sprouts
Porcelli Trio (brick oven pizza)
Our stay at the Samoset will remain one of our fondest memories thanks to the amazing dinner at La Bella Vita. My only disappointment is that I could not have dinner there every night of our stay, as they are only open on Fri and Sat in the off season.
Had a great view but the food at brunch seemed to contain a few dessert items not made on site and the main courses seem to be bland and some hot foods were lukewarm at best. The view and walk after was worth the visit though. I did not have any drinks but the coffee was good.
BEST Brussells in Maine. Get the short rib dish, well done chef! Chocolate martinis at the ice bar, two and the wife was done for the night! Good time. Thank you
We go to the Samoset Resort this time every year for our anniversary and the ice bar. We use this restaurant regularly and love it!
We had a wonderful meal celebrating our 41st Wedding Anniversary; well timed to enjoy the special Ice Bar!
Fantastic place and service!
The staff was great. Rachel took good care of us. The food was good too. Everyone enjoyed their dishes.
Hi hate to write a review that isn't great, but this restaurant just wasn't great. We had a shellfish appetizer that was very small for the price, and it wasn't presented well either. Just a few pieces of shellfish on a plate. My daughter and I had the halibut for dinner, which sounded really great, and would have been, if the halibut wasn't overcooked. We both agreed that it was dry and chewy. Maybe it was frozen? My husband enjoyed his braised short rib, though.
Great service from the waitress, Santanah. Food was good wine and or drinks were super expensive. Nice ambience however we were not seated next to the window I guess it didn’t matter as it was night time. Lots of teenagers running all around the restaurant they had some type of family event going on I guess. Would’ve loved to stay and linger over drinks but at $14 a glass nope. My husband accidentally left his credit card on the table and I guess they couldn’t find it later so we had to cancel it. They did find it the next day but it was already canceled and a painin the butt at Christmas time/and while on vacation. This was an anniversary dinner splurge not something we would normally do. Good place for a nice evening out.
We were very sad that the lobster was not available. This is what we came for.
Gorgeous restaurant in the Samoset Resort...the real surprise is how wonderful the food, selections, and service all are! We would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a delicious meal in a lovely space, with servers who actually care! A++++++
We enjoyed a lunch and a dinner.
The food was delicious and hot. The waitress was pleasant and helpful with choices.
We had an excellent bottle of wine as well.
The service was marginal, the food was just ok, and it was extremely noisy because of the adjoining bar. We also had breakfast there. On the third try the eggs benedict was cooked right. By that time, my husband had finished his food. We won’t be returning.
I requested an out of the way spot and my husband's birthday when making the reservation and the hostess was ready for us when we arrived. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the food was delicious! Creative cocktails, an extensive wine list and amazing desserts rounded out our celebration.
We ate here for Two dinners and two breakfasts. It seems to be one of a few places to go. Service is mediocre at best. Food is as expected but not exceptional.
Excellent food, great service. A bit pricey with drinks at 13 and up but work it for a nice night out. Beautiful ocean views and casual comfortable atmosphere.
Very relaxing night. Service and food was excellent
I eat here every year when I am here for an annual conference...service and food has always been very good. I appreciate that they accommodate gluten free diets without any difficulty.
Food was exceptional. Staff was very accommodating. View of the bay from the widow seat was unforgettable. If you want a window seat, be sure to request it when you make your reservation.
Lovely restaurant, with a warm bar area. Lovely Italian food, warm rosemary bread. Altogether top notch.
We had a very tasty meal for our anniversary and our server, Katie, was excellent.
This was my second trip up north to dine at La Bella Vita. This is much more than a food establishment. The cuisine is amazing, from the pairing of flavors, the utilization of local merchants and even the plating. My husbands and I had two amazing meals and were taken care of by a waitress so friendly and accommodating that we tipped her 40%! We will return here for every special occasion we have!
Service was spot on
After a couple of very well mixed cocktails at the bar, we were seated at a nice table on the patio, looking straight out to the golf course and the ocean. Food at La Bella Vita is always good, not great but good. Appetizers are probably the best selections on the menu as the entrees tend to be too heavy with all kinds of sauces (note to management: I for the life of me cannot understand why we can't have the lobster salad on the restaurant menu when it is offered on the bar menu 30 feet away....). The wine list is adequate and service is great, prompt and friendly. Overall a very nice evening.
Very disappointing. Food was just ok. The blueberry pie at the end was inedible and taken off the bill. Won't be returning, unless the food does.
Spectacular view. Tremendous tasting food. Moderate size portions. Definitely on the pricey side but worth it for special occasions.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed the lobster bisque and chicken piccata. Very flavorful. I have several food allergies and the kitchen has always created delicious entrees to meet my needs. The gluten free pasta is quite delicious. One of our favorite restaurants. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent service and outstanding views. sat on the patio - more than helpful staff that went out of their way to assist with a special request (bug spray) The Veal Scaloppini was some of the best I have ever had. Just really good food.
Very, very slow service, had to redo one dinner. Redone dinner was ok, but other dinner held under lamps and was dried out when both eventually were served. Out of wines on wine list. Never able to get available wine due to slow service. Finally just gave up, paid bill and left.
Overall good dinning.
Expected more from the menu choices. Seating felt like seating near a walkway.
Very good meal. Service by hanna was outstanding.
Service was not at level expected for the prices on menu. Wine was overpriced for 5oz. $11 for a 5oz of a bottle that retails for $10.
Hannah was fabulous
We especially enjoy the Sunday brunch with friends and/or family. Very good selection, well prepared, and replenished often. Desserts are fabulous too. It really does have something delicious for everyone! We enjoy the comfortable seating, with tables not squeezed together, making for a relaxing and enjoyable time.
The location is really a selling point for this restaurant. If the weather cooperates (not raining), then dining outside on the deck or patio is wonderful - gorgeous views of Penobscot Bay. Gas heaters and a firepit add warmth if the air is chilly. The food is upscale, and pricing to go with it. That said, the pizzas are great, as are the mussels which are listed under appetizers, but enough for a meal, especially if paired with a salad. The bar is noisy, but seated either outside, or away from the main bar area, and the sound is manageable. Bring a sweater or light jacket for inside, as it can be chilly with the air conditioning in summer. Fireplaces are a cozy touch for when it is cool outside.
My husband and I ate at this restaurant 3 nights in a row while staying at the resort. The food was average and the service was terrible. That was three different nights and three different servers. They would come to the table and take our order and after the meal was served we wouldn’t see them again. Unfortunately, that is the only place to have dinner at the resort.
On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was wonderful.
Excellent food, courteous prompt service and nice menu, always a treat to eat here
We had dinner at the restaurant two times this past week. The service is very good, the wait staff friendly and helpful. The food is very mediocre, however. The first time we ordered two individual pizzas and honestly they were not very good. I would bet they used frozen dough which was just slathered with cheese and some toppings. On our second visit we each had grilled fish and it also tasted like institutional food - as if it was defrosted and heated. We shared an appetizer described as "artichoke, spinach and cheese al forno" - it ended up being a reheated spread of melted cheese on top of melted spinach with half a baked artichoke on top. We did not order dessert because the options were not appealing.
The view from this restaurant is fantastic! The menu has many excellent choices to choose from. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions are generous! Prices are quite reasonable for a nice restaurant and the staff was friendly and attentive. This restaurant is highly recommended!
