We recently ate here during our annual trip to NY for my mother and daughter's birthday. The food was great and the service was very quick. Everyone loved the food and we will definitely return next time we are in town.
You won’t be sorry. Service was amazing. Value was great.
Lovely cosy little restaurant in little Italy. Perfect stop off.
Family gathering for good local food. We were here last year during the holidays and it came across much better than it did this year. The environment is nice and cozy / energetic, while the food is nice and common. Wine list is fair. Overall we had higher expectations from last year.
The restaurant was not particularly busy but don't let that deter you. The food was excellent. I'd highly recommend the eggplant rollatini. The restaurant was also more spacious than I've grown accustomed to in New York. If your looking for a great value in Little Italy, check this out.
Excellent food and atmosphere! Bruschetta was amazing. Veal and Chicken dishes delish. Highly recommend if you are looking for great quality in a small restaurant.
We arrived a bit early but was welcomed with open arms. Got a great table at the front looking out onto the street. The service was great. Food and wine was perfect.
Service was pretty good. I ordered la Bella vita veal and my girlfriend had the special which was assorted ravioli. The ravioli was great, but the veal was incredibly dry making it overpriced. The wine was fantastic though. We settled on one of the 39 dollar bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon from Italy.
Good enough that I wasn’t upset, but probably won’t go back.
The food was great. However, I was not advised by the waiter that one of the specials of the day that was offered (linguine with mixed seafood) was enough to serve three people.
Personable staff and good food make up for tight quarters on coldest day of the year. The restaurant even had door security to hustle people into the waiting area or restaurant with the least bit of cold air coming in.
Lovely restaurant very accommodating. It is very small and cramped but don’t let that put you off. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Christmas Dinner was made awesome with the super friendly wait staff. Loved everything from cocktails to appetizers to dinner to dessert. Be sure to stop by here - you won’t regret it
PERFECT! As someone said as the 7 of us were enjoying everything, "When I come back I wouldn't know what to order because everything was soo good." Thank you for a wonderful Christmas dinner.
Service too long
Great Italian cuisine still exists in Little Italy contrary to the rumors. The service was great, atmosphere friendly and you feel at home in this cozy restaurant. I ordered the bruschetta and ravioli (3 types) with vodka sauce; my only regret is that I’m not in NYC long enough to go back for the veal.
This is a go to place every time my wife and I visit New York. The food and service are exceptional.
Just fell in love with this spot. There are the little Italy spots that overwhelm with food and traditional settings. La Bella Vita is an elevated experience and I can’t wait to go back. Can’t go wrong with the specials and just enjoy the care these guys put forth!
The food and service was outstanding. The Bruschetta was to die for. The only downside to this small restaurant is no bar or any room to wait. My reservations were for 6:15 but the restaurant had 6:30. He said the paper says 6:15 to make sure your there on time. He was very nice about it but we still had to wait outside in the cold until after 6:30. It was worth the wait.
This is one of my top recommended Italian restaurants in NYC
We had a reservation and they were prepared for us upon our arrival. Very good and prompt sevice. Food was very good and the portions were more than enough. Ambiance is very cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended.
Great food and service. It is just way to cramped!
Very good service, menu explained very well, food was delicious.
Not very big and felt a little crammed, but worth it for the value...
A nice surprise was the appearance of a small band walking around playing Christmas songs.
The restaurant was quiet at 7PM, but picked up over the next couple hours. Very delicious special of 4 types of lasagna, and got the recommended sauce. Service was very good and eggplant parm was also very very good. We would return.
Great tasting food. Small cozy restaurant. There was a bit of noise because there were a lot of people in such a small place. Very friendly service.
Unfortunately, we didn't actually get to eat here. We had a reservation, but when we arrived we stood waiting for 5 minutes at door to be greeted. Once we explained we were there for a reservation, the man told us to wait. He went off, and left us standing there for another 10 minutes. We could see him standing across the restaurant not doing anything, and also not helping us get a table. After 20 minutes of waiting the restaurant, to end up not being seated for our reservation, we left. I was very disappointed by this experience.
The place is small but cute. When the weather is nice they open the doors at the front which allows for outside in dining. It was a little crazy when we went as far as a full restaurant with folks waiting on the street. They got us in as quickly as possible and we had a reservation. The gnocchi was amazing and the Bella Vita chicken good. It was a little crowded and crazy but that can be expected for a small NY restaurant. The street is on has charming shops too. I would return to this Little Italy staple.
I celebrated my birthday on Saturday night and loved the dinner and the staff. The waiter, Orlando, genuinely made me feel special and the whole restaurant sang to me with the lights off and my birthday cake candle lit! The whole restaurant seemed to be having a great time and we even met people at several nearby tables. This is the reason I love little Italy so much!
We were looking for good Italian food for a family dinner at the last minute. They were able to accommodate 10 of us within 20 minutes after making the reservation on Open Table. The food and service were excellent. I would recommend it to others.
Excellent meal in a nice restaurant in Little Italy. Visiting from Ohio. I wouldn't hesitate to go back on my next visit. Great service, great meal.
I went there with a group of 17, the reservation was for only 15. We took up half the restaurant stayed for four hours and had a great time. staff treated us like gold. This was during the San Genaro feast. We ordered a lot of food but to have an un-rushed experience with great food and service like that during such a busy time was more than you could ever expect. I will go back for sure.
My family came from out of town to enjoy San Gennaro last Saturday and we had the best time! The food here is amazing and the staff is super nice! We sampled a wide variety of dishes, including the Bella Vita chicken, shrimp pesto, chicken parm, fettuccini meatballs, and lasagna. Everything was fabulous! This is my go-to in Little Italy. Can't wait to go back!
Everything about our experience was awesome, from service, to our meals. My girlfriend and I had to stop back in well after walking around Little Italy, and they even shared their fried dough with us. We can't wait to take more friends here on our next trip!!
All around nice place. Friendly staff and good food. Would definitely recommend.
Sorry to say this does not deserve 4 stars. You Led me astray open table. Average at best
Tremendous Value for your dollar ! Nice Portion SiZes.
You will not leave hungry! Lasagna was an A+. Their homemade pastas are scrumptious!!! Great ambience! We will be back!
Overall a good experience. The food quality doesn't match the ambiance or the politeness and aptitude of waitstaff
Amazing food and ambiance
Fabulous place -amazing food & service.
