La Bella Vita Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, we didn't actually get to eat here. We had a reservation, but when we arrived we stood waiting for 5 minutes at door to be greeted. Once we explained we were there for a reservation, the man told us to wait. He went off, and left us standing there for another 10 minutes. We could see him standing across the restaurant not doing anything, and also not helping us get a table. After 20 minutes of waiting the restaurant, to end up not being seated for our reservation, we left. I was very disappointed by this experience.
The place is small but cute. When the weather is nice they open the doors at the front which allows for outside in dining. It was a little crazy when we went as far as a full restaurant with folks waiting on the street. They got us in as quickly as possible and we had a reservation. The gnocchi was amazing and the Bella Vita chicken good. It was a little crowded and crazy but that can be expected for a small NY restaurant. The street is on has charming shops too. I would return to this Little Italy staple.
I celebrated my birthday on Saturday night and loved the dinner and the staff. The waiter, Orlando, genuinely made me feel special and the whole restaurant sang to me with the lights off and my birthday cake candle lit! The whole restaurant seemed to be having a great time and we even met people at several nearby tables. This is the reason I love little Italy so much!
I went there with a group of 17, the reservation was for only 15. We took up half the restaurant stayed for four hours and had a great time. staff treated us like gold. This was during the San Genaro feast. We ordered a lot of food but to have an un-rushed experience with great food and service like that during such a busy time was more than you could ever expect. I will go back for sure.
My family came from out of town to enjoy San Gennaro last Saturday and we had the best time! The food here is amazing and the staff is super nice! We sampled a wide variety of dishes, including the Bella Vita chicken, shrimp pesto, chicken parm, fettuccini meatballs, and lasagna. Everything was fabulous! This is my go-to in Little Italy. Can't wait to go back!
Everything about our experience was awesome, from service, to our meals. My girlfriend and I had to stop back in well after walking around Little Italy, and they even shared their fried dough with us. We can't wait to take more friends here on our next trip!!
I made a reservation in advance but was annoyed when they put us in the corner table which was almost impossible to get too - very tight squeeze. The bread was stale and when we asked for fresh bread all they did was toast the same bread that was originally on our table. Food/wine was just okay. Service was mediocre.
Friendly greeting and the service was good, but the food was not great. Spaghetti with clam sauce was very bland, the pizza crust was thin which I usually like but didn't like the taste of this one, the salad dressing on the Arugula salad was just lemon juice and way to tart/tangy. The only good things was the Bolognese.
I really wanted to like this new place however the food was a bit of a let down, I went for the lobster ravioli which was tasty but the lobster meat was more minced when lumps of crab, the sauce was great which really saved the dish, my boyfriend opted for the ribeye steak ( which I thought against since you should always order what places specialize in and we are in an Italian restaurant but he insisted) the portion was very large and tender but kinda tasteless and the side pasta was drowned in garlic. The tiramisu was the best I've had in a while and the service was really attentive. Overall it is very reasonably priced but not enough for me to return.
We were a large party of 9 with a reservation and they did an outstanding job getting us seated quickly. The service was amazing, the restaurant atmosphere was authentic, and the food was good and reasonably priced. Overall a great experience and we will return!
Good restaurant in Little Italy. We booked through the app but we had to wait about 20 minutes. Once we got inside the staff of the restaurant was very good and very helpful. The food was good and the quantity was generous.
One of my friends forgot his bag in the restaurant and when we came back 20 minutes later the bag was still there.
