La Bella Vita Ratings and Reviews
Service was pretty good. I ordered la Bella vita veal and my girlfriend had the special which was assorted ravioli. The ravioli was great, but the veal was incredibly dry making it overpriced. The wine was fantastic though. We settled on one of the 39 dollar bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon from Italy.
Good enough that I wasn’t upset, but probably won’t go back.
Great Italian cuisine still exists in Little Italy contrary to the rumors. The service was great, atmosphere friendly and you feel at home in this cozy restaurant. I ordered the bruschetta and ravioli (3 types) with vodka sauce; my only regret is that I’m not in NYC long enough to go back for the veal.
Just fell in love with this spot. There are the little Italy spots that overwhelm with food and traditional settings. La Bella Vita is an elevated experience and I can’t wait to go back. Can’t go wrong with the specials and just enjoy the care these guys put forth!
The food and service was outstanding. The Bruschetta was to die for. The only downside to this small restaurant is no bar or any room to wait. My reservations were for 6:15 but the restaurant had 6:30. He said the paper says 6:15 to make sure your there on time. He was very nice about it but we still had to wait outside in the cold until after 6:30. It was worth the wait.
Unfortunately, we didn't actually get to eat here. We had a reservation, but when we arrived we stood waiting for 5 minutes at door to be greeted. Once we explained we were there for a reservation, the man told us to wait. He went off, and left us standing there for another 10 minutes. We could see him standing across the restaurant not doing anything, and also not helping us get a table. After 20 minutes of waiting the restaurant, to end up not being seated for our reservation, we left. I was very disappointed by this experience.
The place is small but cute. When the weather is nice they open the doors at the front which allows for outside in dining. It was a little crazy when we went as far as a full restaurant with folks waiting on the street. They got us in as quickly as possible and we had a reservation. The gnocchi was amazing and the Bella Vita chicken good. It was a little crowded and crazy but that can be expected for a small NY restaurant. The street is on has charming shops too. I would return to this Little Italy staple.
I celebrated my birthday on Saturday night and loved the dinner and the staff. The waiter, Orlando, genuinely made me feel special and the whole restaurant sang to me with the lights off and my birthday cake candle lit! The whole restaurant seemed to be having a great time and we even met people at several nearby tables. This is the reason I love little Italy so much!
I went there with a group of 17, the reservation was for only 15. We took up half the restaurant stayed for four hours and had a great time. staff treated us like gold. This was during the San Genaro feast. We ordered a lot of food but to have an un-rushed experience with great food and service like that during such a busy time was more than you could ever expect. I will go back for sure.
My family came from out of town to enjoy San Gennaro last Saturday and we had the best time! The food here is amazing and the staff is super nice! We sampled a wide variety of dishes, including the Bella Vita chicken, shrimp pesto, chicken parm, fettuccini meatballs, and lasagna. Everything was fabulous! This is my go-to in Little Italy. Can't wait to go back!
Everything about our experience was awesome, from service, to our meals. My girlfriend and I had to stop back in well after walking around Little Italy, and they even shared their fried dough with us. We can't wait to take more friends here on our next trip!!
I made a reservation in advance but was annoyed when they put us in the corner table which was almost impossible to get too - very tight squeeze. The bread was stale and when we asked for fresh bread all they did was toast the same bread that was originally on our table. Food/wine was just okay. Service was mediocre.
