L. Woods Tap and Pine Lodge Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful Northwoods escape in Lincolnwood. From beginning to end, the dining experience was excellent. We had reservations and were seated immediately while others crammed the front hall. Even though it was Sunday night, the place was packed with people enjoying the Northwoods ambiance and Northwoods menu. Our server paced our meal exactly as we requested, allowing us to linger over cocktails before serving us our delicious deviled eggs appetizer before our meals arrived. We also had warm onion bread to nibble on. For dinner, we ordered the trout and the almond covered walleye. Both were delicious, as was our butterscotch pie for dessert. We will absolutely come back to get our Northwoods fix.
This place is great usually, but the service of our waitress was abysmal.
We sat down at 7:15, and it took 12 minutes for her to come to our table.
We finally received drinks at 7:42, food was received at 8:06.
It wasn't busy and we had a 5 month old with us.
Huge issues from server. Food is always very good
There is a reason why this place is crowded every night. The craft cocktails are very good and they have great local beers. The food is fun and delicious. You have to get the deviled eggs. Nightly specials are amazing and the chopped salad is unique and very good. Only small bit of feedback is the lack of solid wine list/program.
Surprisingly very crowded at 130 on a Saturday afternoon in February but cleared out in 20 minutes. Did not get same quality service and food that I am used to. Drinks took 15 minutes. Appetizer served before drinks. Entrees overcooked. Maybe they are understaffed?
We reserved a table for five. Three of us arrived and they seated us which was very nice and appreciated. Our waiter was very accommodating. He let the three of us order while our other friends arrived later. The food was great and the service was fantastic. We had a wonderful time.
I love LWoods. But on open table you can specify if there is an occasion. Well I marked that it was an anniversary.
I know the restaurant sees the remarks. So why don’t
they acknowledge the occasion. I thought that the
Restaurant would bring a little occasion dessert but
NOTHING. And when we realized nothing was being brought out to celebrate We ordered our own dessert. Why ask if it is an occasion if there is no follow thru!
I have been to L Woods many times and always enjoy the pub and food - however the pulled pork sandwich was very dry this time - needs a different bun than as presented - think it was not always the one served on Monday. Salad was stupendenous - banana creme pie not up to par - graham cracker crust not appropiate for this type of pie - I make a much better banana creme pie than served
Keep up the good work however and will try again -
Food was excellent and the service was great! Our server, Jim, was great! I would definitely recommend making reservations especially on a Sunday. We were seated pretty much right on time. They close at 9:00pm promptly on Sundays so if you’re looking to spend some time go early.
Reminiscent of a Supper Club in Northern Wisconsin, the Menu, ambiance and variety is very different from any of the other Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants. For example, I had the delicious Walleye which is not offered locally at too many places, and prepared very well. The staff is very accommodating, engaging and knowledgeable. Parking can be a challenge at times, even with a parking lot, but it's certainly worth the trip. You won't be disappointed.
We had an enjoyable evening and a delicious meal - FILETS! - for a special occasion. Reminded me a bit of the "supper clubs" of my youth - only much better food. Our wait person, George, was friendly without being obsequious or intrusive, provided excellent service, and, as we were leaving, said that the next time we visit L. Woods to ask for him. He did so in a professional manner and we will, indeed, request a table with him on our next visit. High marks all the way around.
I was pleased that my in-laws chose LWoods as the place to celebrate their anniversary. I've reviewed LWoods in the past and will continue to recommend it... excellent food, excellent service.
When it's just me and the hubby, we always start off with a Chopped Salad which I highly recommend. We had 6 in our party and they have a small platter size which was the perfect size to give us all a small salad to start. I do have my favorites and tend to order the same things. This time I tried something different and I now have a new favorite. The Almond Crusted Walleye in a light lemon butter sauce is outstanding!
This is the perfect place to celebrate something special or to just have a great meal out with a friend or with your honey.
