L. Woods Tap and Pine Lodge Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic ambience, service and food. The manager came to our table to make sure our first time was a pleasant one. Our server was very patient and never made us feel rushed to order. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed the lodge-like atmosphere. My parents loved it so much they are excited to come back down and visit me just to go to the restaurant!
The food was just fair. I had Sima's chicken and mashed potatoes. Both were very salty. My friend had the flatbread and Caesar salad. She said the salad was good but the flatbread was greasy and tasted terrible. My other friend had the Caesar salad with chicken. She liked it. The last few times we have eaten there we have been disappointed with the food.
We had a lovely lunch with great service. I love the cheese curds and the roast turkey entree. The chopped salad is our favorite in the city. The desserts are excellent, especially the ice cream sundaes and butterscotch pie. Yum! My only criticism is that it the yummy creamed spinach always seems to come out cold. I wish they would fix that issue.
I love L. Woods and always bring out-of-town friends here. We sat near the bar this time. I think that improved the noise level, but it was also not as crowded as usual.
It is always worth looking at the specials menu. Grilled cheese and tomato soup is an excellent offering.
Food was great! We had the Wednesday special, Pork Tenderloin. We actually stayed and visited for 3-4 hours and the wait person never made us feel rushed.
Our table was a bit cramped as we were in the first main room and all tables around us were full and tightly packed, but it was not uncomfortable. I live in Lincolnwood, so its one of our local favs.
The food was ok. We did not see much of our server. Once our food came, we finally saw our server so we could get refills on our drinks. We ordered sandwiches and it took a long time for it to finally come out. The restaurant was not that busy after 8:30pm on a Sunday. Once our food came, I had to send part of it back because it was cold.
I would go back, but it seems like it is hit or miss every time we eat at the restaurant.
This is my new favorite restaurant. ALL the food is GREAT, not good. There are LOTS of sides, and they are all tasty -- we especially loved the scalloped potatoes and the creamed spinach. The fried chicken special on Sundays was DELICIOUS. So, the food is delish (everybody -- all 4 in our party -- loved their food. My friend's Mom was thrilled that they had Walleye on the menu!
Our waiter was friendly, but didn't hover. He was great. The girl at the front desk was very nice, and gave us a booth that was off to the side, and not in the middle of the room, for hard-of-hearing problems. Then, at the end of the evening, she told me she can reserve that booth for us for next time, too, without me having asked. All of the staff there is very nice, and the food tastes great! What more can you ask for? It's a wonderful, neighborhood restaurant, and the prices are not outrageous. We LOVE it!
Sodas are flat. They brought out replacements which were also flat. I don’t know how hey didn’t notice that there were no bubbles in the drink after they were alerted to the issue. This is the second time I’ve sent sodas back here. They need to fix the problem. The staff is very gracious about it but it is annoying.
