Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse - Rockwall
To watch the Hibachi chefs cook before your eyes on the Hibachi table is the dining experience you will always remember.
First time visiting to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were very pleased with the food and service. We will be back.
We celebrated our son's 32nd birthday with you, and it was amazing!
Great food, really quick, if anything, too much food!
We had a good time, but even with reservations we had to wait 15 minutes and people who were walk-ins sat down at the grill before us. Otherwise, we had a good meal and it's a lot of food - good value.
Even with the reservation we still had to wait for over half an hour. The steak was a little tough, but overall it was good.
I would recommend cooking veggies and noodles first and leave on the grill to stay warm. Cook meats last and serve everything together. We ate all of our meat while waiting on veggies and noodles.
Very disappointed! We come here every year as a tradition for Mother's Day. We will be choosing another location next year. During our visit last night, we noticed very early on that we were being rushed. Our server didn't perform any of the usual neat experiences as we were seeing at the other tables. We finished our meal and weren't even offered desert. We were there an hour and fifteen minutes and had barely finished our dinner when an employee came over and asked us to move because they had a large party that had been waiting! What!!!! Are you kidding me? We just spent $235 and you want us to move? We had only been here a little over an hour. They offered for us to move into another room to "talk" We were all in shock. I go out to eat a lot and have never had this happen!!! Bad business Kyoto!!!! Oh!! And I forgot to mention--we made this reservation long before coming!!
Amazing time. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better night!
Food and service was excellent! We had a party of 6 for hibachi and everyone in our group all committed how wonderful our experience was!
Service was not great . The food was just ok. The 8 of us had hibachi and all of ya who ordered medium rare steak received medium plus.
Ordinary food and similar service to places that do the same thing
Family lunch for my mother's birthday! Everything was amazing!!
Food was great. However, we ordered appetizers and our food came out within 2 minutes of the appetizers arriving. They need to slow it down.
Great place to eat and family friendly. Polite waitresses and chefs
We ate here for Birthday celebrations of my daughter and a friend's daughter. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, every person there was attentive and friendly. The food was OUTSTANDING and DELICIOUS!! This was my first time at this restaurant. Will we go there again for another celebration, ABSOLUTELY!!! Thank you staff for the superior service, far above and beyond expected.
The food was amazing, but service could have been a bit better . Overall a average experience for the price .
Great show. The chef kept us laughing and entertained through the entire meal preparation. The food was good and the portions were huge. We had leftovers for lunch the next day.
Everything was very well done from the service to the food!!
Everything from food to presentation! Always so delicious and entertaining!
Food was good. Service was okay. But the wait was horrible. Had a reservation for 8 pm got there 20 mins before my reservation and still didn’t get seated until 8:30 pm.
We have been going to Kyoto’s for a long time but this time the rice was undercooked, very hard, and the chef gave the first person two large servings of vegetables which only left the rest of table very very little vegetables and the last person received mainly onions and a few pieces of carrots.
We made a reservation through OpenTable but still had to wait 45 minuted to be seated upon arrival (everyone arrived at the same time). We had to finally get someone to serve us drinks, because the waitress had not shown up to our table yet. We did not want to sit in the hibachi grill area, so we were seated in the VIP room, which was fine. However we ordered from the hibachi menu and it was served to us cold, and the seafood tasted old and stale. The food was definitely not fresh and had been sitting out for quite sometime before being served to us. We will not be returning to this location again.
Food is always good. The Hibachi is fun even if you have experienced it in the past.
Made a reservation on Open Table and arrived on time to be told 35-40 minute wait. Spoke to manager and was informed the “reservation” only puts you in queue at that time—not a seating time!? Complained a little and was seared within 10 minutes as we had a function to attend that wouldn’t wait. Others that had the same reservation time were seated after waiting 50 minutes.
Food was good—typical hibachi experience. Fun for kids, and large portions of veggies and fried rice. New menu includes ahi, lobster and scallops. Might try that next time.
Celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Great experience but I just realize we did not get the picture that they promised at the front.
Very busy night...had to wait a while but food was worth the wait!
Food lacked flavor for the price. The 18% automatic gratitudy for my group was not warranted since the service nor food was worthy of a return visit.
New Years Eve with friends. Although busy the staff were kind and accommodating with phenomenal service and entertaining during our hibachi show. Best fried rice, tender steak and scallops. Thanks for the egg rolls for the extra wait, it was a kind gesture. We had a great time with good friends and good food. We will be back!
My party and I were not pleased with this visit at all. What is the point in making a reservation if it still takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to get out table? The staff was rude and not helpful in the slightest. I will certainly look elsewhere before returning to this restaurant.
I was not pleased at all my husband took me out for our 27 anniversary and instead of enjoying ourselves I couldn't wait to leave. Our cook wasn't fun at all. We had our daughter, son in law and granddaughter with us and my granddaughter is allergic to eggs so I told the cook and he seemed to have gotten mad for the special request. It was the first time we went there and will probably be the last it was so very upsetting
They gave no priority to reservations over same day call-ahead customers. We’re out on a waiting list even though we had reservations - waited approx 35-40 minutes.
We never actually got to eat. We had reservations for 6:00 p.m. and they did not recognize them. Instead, they were allowing people that called ahead to be put on the wait list to go before those with actual reservations. 30 minutes after our reservation, we were told it would be at least another hour. When asked to speak to the manager, she said she was on her way, then completely refused to come speak to us. We walked out. Never again. Poor way to manage your business. Don’t take reservations if you are not going to actually honor them. Ruined our night.
Hot Spot for Birthdays. At least, it is for our family.
Thanks for helping me celebrate my sons 17 B~day! Service was super friendly and the cook was fun.
It’s our favorite restaurant in town best little place for a good meal and it show that goes with it
We made a reservation for our party of 6 - upon arrival we were told that there would be 30-45 minute wait. The hostess informed us that their reservation system really was did not reserve a table or time for us. Kyoto needs to either get a reservation system that they will use or not offer the option to make reservations.
This place NEVER disappoints. We cam for my wife's birthday dinner with out kids and the staff made sure to include them in the performance. TOP NOTCH FUN FOR ALL.
Everything was great as usual. We come here often and we are always happy when we leave.
We came to Kyoto celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary and it did not let down. My wife wanted to sit Hibachi side and that's what we did. The server was VERY attentive and the chef was a pleasure to watch work. The food was fantastic and the beverages were equally as good. We were close enough to feel the heat and be a part of the experience when we wanted, and have a quiet conversation with each other when we wanted as well. I would definitely suggest Kyoto for an evening with AND without the kids. Some of the other parties around had kids with them and were having a blast.
It is always a blast when my family and I visit. Well, worth the money
