They made a special roll for us no problem and I loved it. It came out just like I wanted! So major brownie points for that. Fresh fish, very nice servers. Great ambiance. A little noisy but not too loud. Good for groups and date night.

Fong San is such a great waitress. We have been eating at Kyoto for a number of years and we have never had a bad meal. Best restaurant in Utah.

Sushi,Miso soup and salad were great.
We thought the Tempera's were not very tasty and lacked flavor.
The Edamame was dry and seemed not fresh.
They brought birthday ice cream which was a nice touch.
Would not order Tempera again. Yes to Sushi!

We've been coming here for over twenty years now, and while things have changed and we miss the original crew, this is still our favorite place in the valley for Japanese food!disclosure: we're not sushi people, but when we started coming here, they didn't have sushi ;) Taste, quality, service are all great!

Awsome service great food. My wife and I loved the food, the service was very good too! Very friendly, we couldn't find anything close all the way back to Salt Lake City Utah, or even anything close in Salt Lake.

First time here. You MUST try their Sukiyaki, you honestly can’t go wrong, it’s amazing. Be prepared to use chopsticks, that’s the only utensil on the table. Had a great time. Great food, fabulous ambiance. FYI their parking lot is rather small. You may find you’ll have to park on a side street if you don’t get there early.

Have been coming for quality Japanese food for many years. They never fail to please. Have noticed they have cut back on use of varied vegetables in their Tempura orders and Sukiyaki (sweet potato, potato, asparagus, or any squash), but still put out an excellent dish regardless.

What a great place to dine. My wife and I had authentic Japanese food for the first time and loved it. The atmosphere was great, the food fantastic and the service unbelievable. The server was a cute young lady named Jessica she was very friendly and served us well. I asked her for recommendations which she did and we couldn't have been any happier. I had the shrimp with a light batter and salmon teriyaki that was to die for. The servers were all very friendly coming to see if there was anything else my wife and I needed and they were so cute in their traditional dresses and shoes. I even used chopsticks for the first time and I was FULL by the time I left. My wife and I took home the rest to have for lunch the following day. While this was the first time we have been there it won't be the last. Jessica and her crew were all fantastic!

I've been to this restaurant a few times now and I've always had an excellent experience in regards to the employees and food. The food is very fresh, both the cooked and raw choices. Service can be a little slower when there is a huge crowd, but other than that, the servers are always courteous, helpful, and kind.

We dined at Kyoto for my son's 10th birthday. He was eager to try "real" Japanese food. 3 of us ordered off of the combo menu which was perfect for the kids to try different items. The chicken and beef sukiyaki were both amazing! My husband ordered a couple of sushi rolls which were a bit disappointing. Luckily the rest of us had plenty of food to share.

We went to Kyoto for a special occasion. My wife is Japanese and many of our friends have been recommending this place to us, so we finally went. Some things were really good like the uni and the escolar, but overall the dishes from the kitchen and the dessert were disappointing and the amount of sashimi we got felt a bit overpriced.

Had a wonderful time enjoying the patio, food and celebrating a birthday. Service was exellent and food was exceptional. Order the breaded steak !
The bees came around for a short time but that is what you get in the heat of summer.
Would definitely eat at this long time local Japanese restaurant again.

Waitstaff was friendly and attentive, nice atmosphere, but food was not good. Maybe we are used to Japanese restaurants in California, but this did not live up to reviews. Sukiyaki made my daughter sick & the tempura was marginal.

Ordered the combination dinner with Sashimi and Steak Teriyaki. Sashimi was delicious but the steak was very small, "maybe" 2 oz, and the teriyaki sauce didn't have much flavor

Always a treat for my 7 yr old. We were seated immediately, and server arrived about 1 min later. Sushi & food came in about 12-15 mins. Despite how busy they were, we were served fast and the server was very friendly!!!

We loved everything we ordered. Vegetarian roll, ichago, red dragon, x96, firecracker, etc. We were trying to make it to a concert on time and they were very accommodating. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. Parking was horrendous but that's just Friday night at a popular place.
