Kyma - Atlanta
Kyma offers fantastic options for semi-private dinner parties, and private luncheons. Kyma is a contemporary Greek seafood tavern like no other. The cuisine is inventive yet approachable that is true to its Mediterranean origin. Kyma is dramatic, with a dazzling display of constellations on the deep blue ceiling, white marble columns and a bold fresh fish display. The welcoming patio, with its plush furniture and white linen curtains, offers the ideal setting to savor a glass of Greek wine and Kyma’s array of appetizers. Fresh, healthful food, attentive Greek hospitality and festive atmosphere await at Kyma.View Private Dining Details
This was by far one of the best meals in a very long time. The textures and flavors were interesting at every level. We sat in the Octopus Bar so we could experience the flavors of many small plates and we had about 6. Every one of them were outstanding. The bartender, Claire,, was warm, friendly, hard working and informative. We give her a five rating. She worked the entire bar, small plates and outdoor seating like a master. Thank you for a perfect meal and experience!
Always great service and always a great meal .
This place has fantastic service and delicious food! It's #1 in our minds.
We are from California and have eaten at the best restaurants. This place is rated on top of the list!
Kyma has gone downhill. The fish was excellent, but nothing else was. The eggplant spread was too vinegary, the eggplant stew too salty and the kale too lemony. Way overpriced! $5 for a few slices of toasted pita! Server disappeared after he told us specials and we had to ask another server to find him! We were 3 couples, and he said he would give us the bill for what each couple ate, but then he tagged the wine and shared dishes on one single bill, so that couple paid way too much. He was friendly and knowledgeable, but I would rate the service poor. We will not return soon!
I take many of my guests from out of town to this restaurant. It never fails to impress!
I frequent Kyma often. Never disappointed. Great food. Great service. I suggest if you have not experienced Kyma make a reservation now. 👍👏
Great way to celebrate a birthday with a special menu and a free signed cookbook.
The food here is spectacular. I recommend doing the tasting menu, and for your own sake, get the grilled octopus.
Honestly, ours was one of the best dinners I’ve had in Atlanta in a long time... and I eat out regularly and well. From the three starters; scallops and fois gras, grilled octopus, and lobster bites to the DIVINE lamp chops and the terrific desserts... We were delighted with every bite.
Olivia was our most knowledgeable and excellent guide, helping choose a wonderful wine.
We had no missteps, not one.
Go now and regularly!
We like to dine at Kyma on Sunday night: they have an interesting Greek wine selection and half-priced wine bottles on Sunday make these wines much more affordable. We tried a dry red wine blend from Crete and it was really good. Our traditional octopus appetizer was as always wonderful, and scallops with foie gras dish was amazing. Unfortunately they ran out of Kataifi cheese dish, we took Saganaki instead and it was a total disappointment: chewy cheese, floating in a huge amount of fat (butter, I guess), very little taste. For entry we had a whole fish grilled, special for the night Queen Snapper and it was delicious. Special dessert with filo dough, peaches, custard and ice-cream was our grand finale. We love Kyma and we will be back. Thank you.
It had been a while since I'd been to Kyma, and I had wonderful experience all the way around. Wonderful service, amazing food!
Excellent restaurant with great food and excellent service. Mitchell was our waiter and he was outstanding. A little noisy makes conversation sometimes difficult. The fish is the specialty. Highly recommend.
I’ve been doing the Buckhead Life Summer dine-around for a few years, with Kyma being on the list. At first I thought dining here was so-so, but now I am a real fan. The service is great and the food challenges me out of my norm with excellent Greek menu items. I recommend trying Kyma if you haven’t dined there before!
Enjoyed food, Bartender James was great.
Drinks were great . I recommend the spicy lamb pie
Went to celebrate my daughter’s upcoming birthday (in a week). The food was excellent, along with extraordinary service. Everyone was so customer focused and friendly. I will definitely recommend Kyma to anyone looking for a nice evening out with great food, and encourage others to go too!!
Always great food and service, had Seabass and Kale, love the Beets.
Kyma is always predictably good. Everything from the cocktails, the wait staff, the food, the ambiance. Definitely a "go to" place. Will never let you down.
Way, way to many greek wines......they are not world renowned, so why not introduce a little more variety
Absolutely Wonderful; excellent service, superb food, and a relaxing, yet vibrant athmosphere - and fun!
Kyma is an exceptional reataurant for high quality Greek seafood. While some of the dishes were outstanding (the octopus, mussels, tomato salad and the whole fish), others were not up to par (particulalry the calamari pasta...flavors didnt blend well and calamari was tough). This may just be a matter of personal taste. All was presented well and the service was excellent. The restaurant is very loud which makes conversation difficult. Overall a great food experience in an energetic space. I would not recommend it for a romantic night out, but great for a fun, foodie evening.
We had a wonderful evening. The food and service were excellent, as always. Our wait person, Emily, was delightful. She was very patient and explained everything about the menu. She also suggested an excellent bottle of Greek white wine. We really liked it and will try to find it locally. Emily was so nice. We hope to see her again!
Kyma's location, ambiance, quality of food, and services were wonderful. Kyma is a great place to dine.
the Constantinople mussels, eggplant stew and tomato salad were fabulous!
Kyma’s food was excellent, beautifully plated, and filling. My friend and I ordered a bunch of small plates to share. My only complaint is with myself for not leaving room for dessert!
Upsold on the $40 Dover Sole to $52. Not worth $52.
Rushed by waiter at a 630 PM seating.
The grilled octopus appetizer was delicious as well as the eggplant stew. Our waiter recommended the whole fish bronzino which was very tasty.
Had a great evening. Thanks to all servers and kitchen staff.
I had reservations for 5:30. Our waitress was outstanding.
I love Kyma, their food is outstanding, very good wine list and excellent service. Always a great experience.
Kumar is an Atlanta gem. Great seafood, expertly prepared, and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. We had the salt-encrusted seabass for two and it was outstanding. The grilled octopus appetizer is not to be missed.
Great evening. Delicious food, attentive and kind service with knowledgeable wine suggestions. We will be back!
For fresh fish with a Greek flare - Kyma is excellent - the Tuna and Lobster bite appetizers are extremely good . We had SkateFish over Lentils and Halibut - both very tasty. HIghly recommend!
I was able to afford Kyma because of the Dine Around Card. Otherwise your restaurant is too expensive for me.
Anniversary-the staff was very attentive without being intrusive
Delightful restaurant with a Greek ambience, great food, very friendly good service
Our server Chandler was attentive but not overly so -- just right for old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while and wanted time to talk. My friend loved the Morpheus cocktail. I loved the Dirty Greek Martini; the feta-stuffed olives were different and perfect for this Greek-spiced drink. My husband really enjoyed the sole, while my friend and I ate several mezes and sides for dinner. Our whole party thought the the Cretan Saganaki, Zucchini Fritters, Lobster Morsels, and Tuscan Kale (served as a side with the sole) were outstanding. We also loved the Blueberry Galaktobureko, as should anyone who likes blueberries, creme brûlée, and cobbler. The grilled octopus was a disappointment though the serving was generous and seasoning good. The octopus wasn't tough but it wasn't tender, and was maybe over-cooked. But otherwise we had a very nice evening.
While the food was very good and tasty I have to give the experience a 3 star rating. Though having made the reservation well in time and having confirmed it on the day itself, we were placed in the bar area instead of the dining room. It took away from the experience of eating in a restaurant. The bar tender had to serve us while serving people at the bar too. So, we did not see him often. Only got water once. One of us did not have silverware and had to take it from another table. Plates were left on the table or taken after we got the next course. By the end of the meal when it was desert time and time to pay we got three different waiters. Again, the food was good but dissapointed by this service experience.
Service was excellent. 2nd time at Kyma. Enjoyed it both times. I had the skate (pan fried) which was wonderful. My date had a light fish that we could not pronounce but started with a Ts... She raved about it. (That seldom happens except for the crabcakes at Buckhead Diner) Also, even though almost all the tables were filled it was very quiet. I highly recommend.
Ambience was nice and very appropriate for a romantic date. Extensive menu but unfortunately my lemon food allergy made it impossible to eat probably 80% of what was in the menu. Kitchen tried to accommodate where they could. Grilled octopus was phenomenal!! I’d go back if only for this dish.
Service was slower than we’d have liked. You better ask waiter/waitress for everything you need because visits to the table were not that often. Person delivering food appeared unfriendly each time he dropped off something. Side dishes weren’t consistent- two friends had the same side that was delivered at different times. There was a noticeable visual and taste difference- one was overly pepppered. It’s was a darker color- likely a result of the extra black pepper.
We enjoyed a lovely evening at Kyma. The food and service were wonderful. We had been craving salted seabass and of course Kyma has the best in Atlanta. Looking forward to our next visit to Kyma.
