About Kyma - Atlanta

Kyma is a contemporary Greek seafood tavern like no other. The cuisine is inventive yet approachable that is true to its Mediterranean origin. Kyma is dramatic, with a dazzling display of constellations on the deep blue ceiling, white marble columns and a bold fresh fish display. The welcoming patio, with its plush furniture and white linen curtains, offers the ideal setting to savor a glass of Greek wine and Kyma’s array of appetizers. Fresh, healthful food, attentive Greek hospitality and festive atmosphere await at Kyma. Proper dress is required. “A true labor of love. Bravo.” -The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

I would of given a higher rating but the door hostess was not the best. The reason I state that is because I asked to sit at a different table her reply is she is holding it for another party.
At the end of the day the table was never sat and for that alone I just left a bad taste in my mouth..

As always we had an amazing experience. The scallop appetizer special was to fire for and the octopus, as always, didn’t disappoint.

Octopus was cooked perfectly and was outstanding. Tuna tartare was quite nice and the gelato on it was a wonderful touch. Arctic char was fantastic as always. Server was very Pleasant but not as on the ball as some we have had in the past. Overall outstanding dining experience.

James is the BEST server in ATL! I brought a 1stX guest 2nite and James made her feel like she had been there 100xs B4. His attention 2 detail and familiarity with each item on the menu is incredible! Saluting Brother James!

I selected Kyma because I had heard good things about the Octopus. It was amazing! Very tender and great flavor. The fish entree that I had was also very good as we're the braised kale and brussel sprouts. We will definitely be back.

Not at the top of their game this time. Most of two of the three courses served at the same time. One dish was forgotten about and was served just before Course 3. Not their best day but this is highly unusual.

This was not our first time eating here. One guest ordered the lamb, medium rare. Outside was burnt and only ate 1-1/2 of the chops. There were 3. There was too much fat on the chops. The manager did remove the dinner from the check, but my issue is that it should not have been served in the first place.

This restaurant is great for special occasions or business meals because it's not so loud that you can't hear each other speak! Food quality is very good, but portions are a bit small for the price. I would recommend it!

main course was very good (fish and greens). spreads were also very good. however, the menu is more greek inspired versus greek food. Some of the so called signature dishes (the cheese kataifi, and the lamb pie), are way too fatty, and personally I did not care for them. literally felt like my arteries were clogging as i took the bite. The loukoumades, which is a traditional greek "donut" covered with syrup and cinnamon, were somewhat salty. Almost like they used the wrong kind of batter to make them. Greek coffee though was spot on. Service was very good, drinks were good, nice looking restaurant.

I brought my 8 year old cousin because he had a project on Greece. The staff went BEYOND my expectations. They were so professional, kind and accomodating. I've dined there prior to this visit, however I will definitely be back sooner than later.

Very nice. Tried the salt-crusted whole sea bass for two. Excellent, and cannot be done at home.
Appetizers of fried calamari and scallops also very good. Did not try the Greek wines.

I've been to Kyma three or four times previously but this visit was the most enjoyable thanks - in large part - to our delightful, helpful, knowledgeable server, Ash. Food wise, the grilled octopus as always was a must, not crazy about the lamb pie (the yogurt spoils it for me), lobster morsels - great!, a fourth meze must have been just okay because I can't remember what it was. The spreads - eggplant, capers, yogurt, and red peppers were good until I felt something fall on my head. I swatted at what turned out to be a horsefly that made a bee-line to the delicious, freshly toasted pita chips that served with the spreads. I was content to just set aside the chips that the fly landed upon but my dining partner insisted on having the whole dish of bread replaced. Staff quickly removed the spoiled bread but what came out to take its place was cold and unappealing. The fish was a small Bream nicely cooked but could have used a tad more salt for me. (I didn't ask for any - wasn't on the table - because I carry my own wherever I go. It's easier.) I started with a "Santorini Mule" cocktail which was tasty but weak and finished with sinfully good Baklava to go. Overall, very nice.

We came in last night on the summer dine around program. It was our first time at Kyma and it did not disappoint. My friend is not a seafood fan unfortunately, so we decided to share several of the mezze plates & cocktails. Though I must admit to eyeing all seafood on the menu. Service was impeccable. Our waitress could not have been more helpful or more sweet to us. I liked my cocktail so much, the Larissa and she found out what the ingredients were for me so that I can make it for a girl's night at my house. Now that is service. We were there for my friend's birthday but after we ate the mezze plates (Dolmades, spanakopita, spicy lamb pie, & katifiki) we were so full and had decided not to order dessert, when the next thing we knew, our waitress brought out a birthday dessert that was two pieces of baklava and a scoop of pistachio ice cream...perfection.
It was just a wonderful experience.
I'll definitely be back for the seafood!!

Good Food as usual. Still a bit of a disconnect between Servers and Busboys. One takes away the plates and utensils, the other brings the next course, without utensils, and has to go and get another set.
