Kyma - Atlanta
Kyma is a contemporary Greek seafood tavern like no other. The cuisine is inventive yet approachable that is true to its Mediterranean origin. Kyma is dramatic, with a dazzling display of constellations on the deep blue ceiling, white marble columns and a bold fresh fish display. The welcoming patio, with its plush furniture and white linen curtains, offers the ideal setting to savor a glass of Greek wine and Kyma’s array of appetizers. Fresh, healthful food, attentive Greek hospitality and festive atmosphere await at Kyma. Proper dress is required. “A true labor of love. Bravo.” -The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Despite waiting over 1hr for food, and being misled about food arriving “in 2 seconds” after saying we are hungry… the manager on duty rectified our complaint by providing several smart solutions. First of all, she replaced one cold dish for our hungry toddler in about 5 quick minutes. Next, she clarified that the waiter should have asked us if we wanted our food to the table at the same time - which we did not, since it is easier to wait while munching on different appetizers. “His fault”. Third, she offered to give our meal on the house - including the wine and the ouzo. Things were looking up once the food was eaten, so she came to check if our toddler would have dessert. The little one declined, so we got up and left. The manager surprisingly brought baklava to our car, in a final effort to sweeten our day. I believe that our dinner party could have avoided the drama, if only our waiter had been better able to communicate and manage our expectations - time-wise, towards the kitchen progress on our plates. We did not come to Kyma for a free meal, since we had been there before and enjoyed everything. This was the simply odd bad occurrence, on a 13th of the month. Hope the next customer gets the real deal, Kyma actually can be satisfying.
One of my favorite spots for food and ambiance, but the service is consistently bad. The servers seem unorganized and don't pay attention. Our side item was never brought to the table but we were charged for it and I didn't receive my wine until the meal was over. Was here earlier in the week and had a similar experience.
Let’s start from the beginning when we first walked into the restaurant we found the hostess uncaring and rude. Not such a great first impression. The food was good. However coming out of New York where are used to high prices in small portions their appetizers were minuscule. Further if they were three people sitting down at a table and you order three appetizers why would they bring one out at a time? This is absolutely ridiculous and quite frankly stupid. When people are dining together they want to eat together. Not appetizer spaced out 15 minutes between each one. Unacceptable. While our wait person was good she should’ve been on top of this. Would I recommend Kyma-Atlanta…No, surely you could do much better than this.
Covid continues to affect service. The servers do their best, but aren’t able to overcome the shortages.
Lobster morsels were undercooked but everything else was fine.
This not the first time i have been to KYMA, but the first since the winding down of the pandemic. I love your restaurant, but the service and food were only average. I fully understand the challenges of labor shortages and i appreciate the effort to make for a nice evening. However, there were just too many simple service flaws that we’re not a function of less labor. The beans and tomatoes dish was not up to par. The larvraki fish presentation was rather meager looking and i just felt that the restaurant was “off it’s game”. I know you will do better, but for now take some time to get everyone back in a good service pattern.
We selected one of their fixed price menus including their spreads, 3 appetizers, and an entree. Everything was delicious, well presented and adequate portions. Service was great as well!
The food was very good and the wine list extensive. The ambience was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. Overall we had an enjoyable evening. However, there were a few glitches which I hope the management will fix. There wasn’t a much of a choice when it came to non-alcoholic beverages. There were no fresh juices at all, not even lemonade which is pretty easy to make. Next, several items on the menu were not available even though it was a Tuesday night and we were dining early. The cocktail I ordered arrived after the Starters and the Main Course and the reason given for the delay was that they had run out of the liquor required for it and had to go out and get more. The service was slow and the servers seemed to be rushing around (maybe they need to hire more staff?).
The Valet Parking which we used was a bit of a mess as the two guys out there just couldn’t cope with the number of customers and ended up just giving us the car keys so we could get our own vehicle.
I’ve been to Kyma a few times now and this was the first time we encountered any issues. Maybe it’s a result of having to get re-started after the pandemic? I’ve always enjoyed dining at Kyma and hope these little hiccups will be ironed out soon so we can continue to patronize Kyma and have a really good experience.
Had a wonderful, knowledgeable server. When it rained he didn’t hesitate or complain about moving us inside.
As always Kama never lets us down. First time we’ve been back since Covid-19. We were able to eat outside. The food was great as was the service. We even bought Chefs cookbook. Great evening.
Go to for Mediterranean seafood experience with a Greek flair. Great alternative to the surf and turf business dinner.
Great atmosphere, service and food! They have an amazing covered outdoor patio. I recommend starting with the octopus and sharing some lamb and fish!
This was an excellent dining experience. Our server, Nicola, was amazing and the food impeccable.
Our server Sylvia was amazing. She made great suggestions for all the meal courses. The salt crusted sea bass was delicious and our lamb chops were cooked to perfection. Kyma never disappoints!
Loved the service...especially in restaurants these days when wait staff seems so stretched. Great food and good times.
Greek restaurant helmed by one of Atlanta's star chefs, the "Beat Bobby Flay" lamb pie is not to miss! Come for the food, leave satisfied--plus with a cookbook and a bottle of olive oil that you shouldn't resist buying.
Outside dining was perfect- cool, quiet and Greek ambiance
We had a wonderful dinner as our server, Nicola, made special emphasis in coordinating that the kitchen had our dishes in a timely fashion. He really succeeded as we enjoyed a perfect dinner in which the quality of the food was not deterred by a bad kitchen coordination.
As always the food was delicious and we were able to feel back in Athens!!
Our server was kind, pand the ambiance was really nice. It was our first time there, and we come back!
We loved it the first time that we came but the service was so atrocious that it has dampened our enthusiasm. I suggest that the management think long and hard about it and make some changes. This restaurant has great food but what good is that if you can’t enjoy your meal. I really hope that they get their act together.
We went for a special occasion after I had dined at Kyma w friends in May. The first time we had a great experience. Great service, food, ambiance, etc.
Second time the service was very rushed and lacked the level of service I would expect for these prices. Our table was very close to another one tho we had asked for outdoor seating they put us inside to avoid rain. This was okay but we would have preferred some space because our daughter was still not fully vaccinated.
It was a special occasion that I think we would have better celebrated at home w a good pizza. Prices were not in line w the food -quality and quantity.
Deserts were good. Oysters expensive and lacked flavor.
Won’t be back any time soon.
The food at Kyma is always great but a little different than before the pandemic. The service was not as good as before the pandemic but still good. We had a nice night at Kyma but it was missing something. We will be going again but at a later date, maybe it will be back great again.
Felt rushed. The first thing the waiter said was that they were SUPER busy and that the chef required we put our entire order in at once. 90% of the tables were not populated and the appetizers and main course came out too close together.
We had a perfect dining experience at Kyma! We were celebrating our anniversary and had an amazing table and the food was exquisite. The service was impeccable also. We can’t wait to go back!
Despite reported staffing shortages at the front of the house and in the back of the house, the service and food was exemplary. The yellow snapper was fresh, simply prepared, and delicious!
What an incredible meal from start to finish. We were most excited to try the octopus, which was delicious, but our socks were knocked off by the calamari. The calamari was so delicious and the best I’ve ever had. We also tried the lamb pie and the tenderness of the lamb and the flavor was just awesome! We split a whole fish for our main course and couldn’t finish it, there was so much. We left at the end of the night contented and talking the whole ride home about our incredible meal. This was our 10th anniversary and we are so glad we chose to celebrate at Kyma.
The European Sea Salt Sea Bass was everything! AH! The watermelon salad is back🎯
This is a top end Greek foody place
Amazing patio, great food, service slow
My husband and I were celebrating our 38th anniversary and we wanted a nice dinner. We decided to try the whole fish tasting menu. The oysters were very small! The appetizers came out very quickly. The red snapper was good but nothing special. The kale side dish was very salty! When we received our bill we had almost $40 in up charges! I gave Kyma a 3 star rating! The wait staff were excellent!
Best restaurant in the Buckhead Life group and maybe best Greek restaurant in US!
Pano does magic..........missed your phylo pastro dessert last night!....Rice Pudding was
an ample replacement!
Alajandro "AL" did terrific job in taking care of us
PS: Need to give your food carriers more direction as to what table gets what courses
Delicious food. Nice ambiance.
We were there at Kyma to celebrate my daughter‘s recent graduation. She picked the restaurant and it was perfect! The food was delicious we talked about it all the way home and into the next day. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was also. I would definitely recommend Kyma to friends and business associates. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Service and food are outstanding! We had a party of 14 for a graduation celebration. The catering manager and our server took excellent care of our party!
So Disappointed. We were 3 couples who were so looking forward to a great meal! The service was so slow, from drinks through dessert, our order was wrong, the salt crusted sea bass was barely edible. The generous discount on the meal cannot compensate for the poor impression. So sad.
Our date night was fantastic. We were originally seated outside but the hostess moved us inside because we wanted something more formal. We were so happy they had the Mercouri Cava dry red - it’s a hard find and the sommelier was excited that we wanted a Greek wine. We were there for serval hours at the end of the night, and our waiter Nick was happy to let us take our time finishing our meal. For a formal restaurant, the appetisers and entree plates are a good size! If you needed lemon, it was there in 10 seconds. The grilled octopus appetiser was delicious, very smoky. The lamb chops were perfect. The salt-crusted sea bass was a little too salty for us, but still cooked very well. We ended with the olive oil ice cream, which was delicious. Highly recommend for a date night spot. It’s a little pricey but the ambience and service is great, and it’s fantastic Greek food in Atlanta.
Kitchen seemed to be having in off night in food delivery and it was throwing the servers off. However, every thing we got was AMAZING. The lamb pie was beyond awesome. We look forward to our next dinning experience at KYMA for sure.
Loved it! They were very accommodating. I will be back.
Food was very good - a small couple of issues but very minor. I loved the fish and cant wait to go back again!
We were told we didn't get outdoor seating because of a leak in the roof. But there was a private party in the area.
