Kyma - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
This was a sensational meal from start to finish, highlighted by friendly and efficient service and perfectly executed dishes.
We opted for the meal that included four tasty dips eaten with pita bread, four appetizers and then a whole grilled fish served with sauteed kale and capers.
I especially loved the osetra-topped oysters and the legendary octopus, and the whole fish was simply divine and ultra-fresh.
Our server had enthusiasm for her job and went out of her way to make the dinner special, bringing my date three wines to sample, as the impressive wine list is almost entirely Greek.
Water glasses stayed full thanks to vigilant service assistants, and the general manager visited our table to ensure everything was perfect.
And it was.
My wife and are foodies and have visited most restaurants in the city. Decided to do something different for her birthday.
The waitress was exceptional - polished and attentive with a great grasp of the menu. She recommended specific dishes and Greek beer and wine to compliment our entry. The spreads (which we had all four), three different appetizers and skate was delicious!
Kyma is presented as a Greek seafood tavern and the menu contains a comprehensive selection of grilled whole fish and other seafood dishes along with a few beef, lamb and chicken entrees. However, my wife and I enjoy their selection of small plates (Meze) even more. There are dozens of selections which change from visit to visit. Last night we enjoyed spicy lamb pie, small scallops in a delicious squash puree, spanokopita and a wonderful beet salad with goat cheese, dried currants and raspberry sorbet. Add to that the Sunday discount on Greek wine and you have the makings of a very nice evening at reasonable cost. Thanks, Kyma, we will be back!
First time and all I can say is wow! I’m not a foodie but appreciate a great meal. The food, drinks and service was was fantastic. My wife and I got the mezze platter that came with 4 spreads to start, 4 apps and a whole grilled fish. Everything was outstanding, we had a beet salad and octopus as 2 of our appetizers, dang! I would recommend kyma to anyone!
I would of given a higher rating but the door hostess was not the best. The reason I state that is because I asked to sit at a different table her reply is she is holding it for another party.
At the end of the day the table was never sat and for that alone I just left a bad taste in my mouth..
Octopus was cooked perfectly and was outstanding. Tuna tartare was quite nice and the gelato on it was a wonderful touch. Arctic char was fantastic as always. Server was very Pleasant but not as on the ball as some we have had in the past. Overall outstanding dining experience.
This was not our first time eating here. One guest ordered the lamb, medium rare. Outside was burnt and only ate 1-1/2 of the chops. There were 3. There was too much fat on the chops. The manager did remove the dinner from the check, but my issue is that it should not have been served in the first place.
main course was very good (fish and greens). spreads were also very good. however, the menu is more greek inspired versus greek food. Some of the so called signature dishes (the cheese kataifi, and the lamb pie), are way too fatty, and personally I did not care for them. literally felt like my arteries were clogging as i took the bite. The loukoumades, which is a traditional greek "donut" covered with syrup and cinnamon, were somewhat salty. Almost like they used the wrong kind of batter to make them. Greek coffee though was spot on. Service was very good, drinks were good, nice looking restaurant.
What a wonderful restaurant. The octopus is exceptional !! And the fish was amazing as well.
Our server was so delightful and truly cared about us and how each food item was prepared.he explained everything about the food in such details, he made ur mouth water, lol.
This is not to be missed on ur bucket list...
