The service was nice and the setting was perfect. We did wait an extra 10 minutes for one of our guests meals to arrive after we all received ours. My girlfriend claimed her food was cold. I had the shawarma and that was excellent and a friend had lamb chops and he agreed they were great as well the server was kind and attentive to us and allowed us to have space as we ate. I Did not like the added gratuity for a table of only 5 as I felt we should of been able to say something since the food took so long for one of our guest.
Very Nice restaurant. Food was very good. Spaghetti Squash was excellent.
Excellent food, service and value. I appreciate the restaurant's participation in the Chicago Entertainment and Passport programs, which makes it affordable for us to visit regularly.
It was a wonderful place for a ladies brunch. The food was really good and the mimosa special is fantastic! Renee, our server, was awesome. She made our brunch great and was wonderful druing our time there.
Definitely will be back again!
The food is fresh and delicious. It is their take on the various dishes. The falafel and kubbeh are superb.
Don't forget to try the Lebanese wine.
We really looked forward to trying Kurah as a new restaurant for us, and love Mediterranean food. Unfortunately, it really let us down. The Jerusalem salad looked (and tasted) like it had been sitting on the back shelf of the refrigerator for days. The schwarma while "ok" was unfortunately not hot enough and the vegetables were soggy. The falafel was also not particularly hot and tasted somewhat stale. The server was very lovely (she removed the salad from our bill). We had to ask for pita bread (surprisingly), but she did bring it out. I am hopeful that they were just having an off night, and that it's as good as other reviewers describe most of the rest of the time.
It took about 30 minutes to get our cocktails. It was lunchtime and the waiter was doubling as the bartender. Also, I think they ran out of something and had to send someone to the store to pick it up. Then we waited additional time for our food. I really like the food and ambiance of this restaurant but they need to staff up more so they can deliver better service.
It was the worst service ever.
Great food, service and value. The Bottomless Mimosa is a great deal on Saturdays and Sunday
Service was slow. Not enough serving staff. Soup was too spicy; not noted on menu
Came here for dinner with a friend. Was a bit early so I sat at the bar and had a glass of Lebanon red wine, which was part of the happy hour. Not bad. We ordered the Lebanese sampler (2 each of falafel, kubbeh and bacon wrapped dates), hummus with pine nuts, baklava and rose infused flan. I also tried the other Lebanese red wine on the menu, just because I had never seen it on a menu before. Both were equally good.
I occasionally come to Kurah's for lunch and am familiar with their dips, falafel and kubbeh, all of which I enjoy very much. The dates were sweet, as is expected, though not my taste. My friend really enjoyed them. The baklava was served with whip cream, which I found unnecessary, and was also quite sweet but not my preference in a desert. The flan had a prominent flavor of rose, which was a bit off putting for me.
I will continue to come to Kurah because their savory foods are great.
I have eaten at Kurah many times. My friend and I had lunch day after Christmas. While the food tasted good, I feel like we were taken advantage of...
We ordered a hummus and falafel appetizers. Menu states 6 falafel. It arrived with 4. We didn’t say anything. Instead of ordering a separate Jerusalem salad and a lunch plate, we just ordered lunch plate which included a Jerusalem salad. We never received the salad. When the bill came, we were significantly overcharged.
Very disappointing as I have always enjoyed Kurah.
The food is always so good and the service so attentive.
Kurah is a great middle eastern place. We were with a large group and we shared appetizers and two of their Kurah platters. There was more food than we could possibly eat. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was good, but slow on this very busy night.
It’s was a Saturday evening & no one was hardly there...that should have been an indication to leave immediately. Save your $ & spend it on better food & service. Our sever who was a tall man in a mustache was unable to recommend a decent drink now house favorites. Food was overrated & overly either bland or too much salt. I will never recommend this place... poor quality food & horrible service.
While we dined on the upper level, there appeared to be a large group gathering on the first level. This contributed greatly to the noise level and to the slowness of the service. This is the first time I’ve encountered this. I’ve eaten at Kurah many times before and it’s usually much quieter, and the service is usually excellent. During my most recent visit there was also a problem with the climate control in the restaurant, making it uncomfortably warm, particularly on the upper level where we were seated.
Since stepping in to Leaving it was a very pleasant atmosphere and quaint. The food was authentic and really good portions not too much and not too small. The variety of cocktails was very surprising and they had a very good variety of wines from all over the world.
Great shareable food. Portions were surprisingly big but well worth the price
I can't comment on authenticity but there was a nice ambiance for the room. The portions are generous and fit the price. Unfortunately, they were having some kind of computer issues and were unable to take cards. Had we known, up front before ordering, we would've went elsewhere. We weren't notified of this until our check was brought to the table. Another small gripe was having to waive down a waiter for a refill on bottomless mimosas. If you're going to put that on the menu, a guest shouldn't have to lift a glass for service.
Service was awful, we waited thirty minutes to order drinks, then another thirty to order food, manager did not check on his guests. Server had attitude, was extremely rude, and made smart comments back, did not want to be helpful in menu selections.
This was our first time and we thought the food was great! I get fried calamari everywhere and this one was perfect. I was able to speak with the owner and he was very friendly. Next time I am in Chicago I will definitely come back and I certainly will recommend this place to anyone here as well.
Very cozy restaurant, great food, friendly staff.
Food was disappointing. Service was amazing! Kitchen looked filthy.
Quiet space, food is really tasty and they bring you the real taste of hummus, tabule and also differents meats. We’ll respeat.
Very slow service and the filet kebab was over cooked
Food was good but portion sizes were very small for the price. We were there for over 25 minutes and no server came to our table. I had to get up and go find a server.
Waiter was great. Manager seemed to have issues with him and ended our experience unprofessionally.
Convenient, but will not return to this restaurant
Very nice waitress and manager. Will come again. The ambiance is nice for after work or dinner date. Nice and cozy. The food is great of you love ethnic food. Yummy!
We had dinner on the patio outside on the side walk. Very pleasant. Good food and a nice sangria that night!
Table was a little small for the 4 of us --it was the only table available on the patio when we came. We could have easily sat inside. That was our choice.
I will start by being positive. The baba ganoush appetizer was very good. The outdoor tables are lovely and the server was pleasant. However, I'm sorry to say that my dinner was quite disappointing. I ordered lamb shwarma. The pieces of lamb were sliced very small, were not very flavorful, and the meat and accompanying rice were cold. Others at the table felt somewhat better about their meal. However, the soup ordered by my husband was not brought to him. I hope Kurah can do better than this under the recently-changed ownership.
This was my second time here and I brought friends from out of town. The server was continually confused about us and our order. Food was dropped off the plate. The calamari was Luke warm at best.
The rose infused flan was hideous. I will reluctantly give it another try.
The management did give us credit on the bill for things that were not right...but we had to ask twice.
It was a lovely experience with great food and enjoyable ambiance
The food was good. The ambience was pleasant. The service was OK.
Great service. Great food. Mimosas.
The food is tasty and there is a great selection but the portions are a little small for me. I ordered the stuffed eggplant and I was still hungry.
Kurah is a neighborhood gem with authentic food that is healthy, fresh, and delicious. The full bar. wine list and friendly service makes for an enjoyable evening!
It's a nice neighborhood jewel! I enjoyed it and I would go back.
Lamb kebab meat was tough, fatty and over salted. Disappointing entree. Saffron rice and Jerusalem salad were great.
