They were running behind but everyone working there was genuinely trying their best and going above and beyond to get us seated right away. The food was great, the service was outstanding. We went for New Years Eve, but I've also gone on a casual Friday night with a larger group and I've never been dissappointed
Great food and great service. Good value considering it was NYE.
New Year's Eve , it was the last day of operation for the restaurant and everyone working told us. They were out of much of the item on the menu. Too bad for us .
Charming / old-style environment
My reservation was at 5pm didn't get seatted until 20 min after. The food was very overpriced and it wasn't that great. Overall was very dissatisfied.
We decided to go there because we had heard that the restaurant was closing, although a pleasant experience it was obvious that they were closing as they were out of many items. Hopefully the staff will receive good severance packages and find other employment.
Excellent duck. The super Tuscan wine is lovely. Sadly ran out of affogatto.
So sorry that Kuleto's is closing after 30 wonderful years of serving our community. This treasure will be missed.
Excellent food and ambuance
after not eating there for 15 years I was dying re visit this place as one of my most memorable
Very disappointed the branzino was cold and greasy and made me sick
I guess they are closing so staff not interested in the place anymore
Sorry to see them close. It has been a favorite restaurant in the city and our go to place for special occasions for years. Contrary to review I read the staff was professional and friendly as always and the service and food 1st class. Our server Gary took care of us and made it a wonderful experience.
This is a place that was much better than it needed to be, given the touristic location. It had all the elements of a great restaurant experience, all in a historic, terrific-looking space. Unfortunately, the owners have decided to close the restaurant. We shall have to look for another place to eat in the Union Square area. Addio Kuleto's.
A very enjoyable pre-theater dinner. My son and daughter (age 30 something) were visiting me from out of town. We were headed to the Orpheum theater to see The Lion King and the Powell St. location is a no brainer. I'm sorry I cannot remember our server's name...but service was good, food was excellent (calamari, salads, fish entrees, and dessert/tiramisu...were all excellent). Loved the convenience of location and the quality of our meal. We sat on the periphery of the hotel....very elegant and enjoyable ambiance. I would return.
Food was okay, not great. The eggs Benedict were a little cold and the hollandaise was unremarkable. The pancakes were dry and again, unremarkable. The service, even for a Union Square place, was atrocious. I had to flag a waiter down twice to get a coffee refill and ask about our food. And it was 1030am on a Wednesday morning - not exactly a busy time as there were more empty tables than people eating. Just really unimpressed.
Beautiful, lovely. Great food.
we have eaten at Kuleto's well over 50 times- heard they were closing so we thought we'd go for one last meal- whoa...they raised the prices significantly- our server was average at best- we had to ask for water and bread several times- maybe it's run it's course and is due for a change up!
Have always loved it but while we had a reservation the waiter complained about how many reservations they had to seat! We had a table near the kitchen where every two minutes they were banging plates so loudly we thought they were breaking them! Food was good. Waiter tried his best. Sad to say
I understand that Kuleto's is closing at the end of this week. It showed in the service re: the number of servers and the wait for the meal. ...and I'm sorry to see it go.
As regular, loyal, visitors to Villa Florence we enjoyed another wonderful Christmas Eve at Kuleto's. We are very sorry to hear that it will be our last as the restaurant is coming to an end. Thank you for years of being one of our top choices to visit.
