KRES CHOPHOUSE Ratings and Reviews
This was not our first time to Kres and it was as amazing as ever. On this occasion we had dinner with our pals Michael and Rob. We were seated by the door and had lots of opportunities to people watch. The food was soooo good. We started out with oysters rockafeller, carpacio and scallops. i am not a fan of scallops but these were so good. I may have those on my next trip this weekend. We also had some salads then on to our entree. i always have the elk and it is always so flavorful. It goes amazingly well with the truffle fries. Our guest had the NY Strip and the duck. My wife had the fish. All dishes were amazing. The four of us are already planning our next outing to Kres. My wife and I will be there this weekend with some of our staff. Not sure how to add pics but i am going to try later
I ate at Kres two nights in a row. My elk tenderloin was cooked perfectly, not gamey at all. The brussel sprouts were amazing so much so I ordered them both nights. John our waiter took great care of us. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in downtown Orlando.
The food was good and the atmosphere was OK, but DANG the price of the food and drinks were just OUT-OF-SIGHT! I've eaten at just of good steakhouse elsewhere and not feel like I've been taken to the durn cleaners! I will not ever eat there again and on top of that was charged a heck-of-a-fee to park my car. Geezs, way too much for a night of dinning.
We like to dine at Kres for many different reasons. However, this time we were not happy after the dinner. We were there before going to a broadway show. Kres gives a 15% discount to all ticket holders. We showed our tickets to the waiter before ordering and were assured the discount would be applied. The service was not very good this evening we were rushed at the end of dinner to make the show. Later that night we looked at our bill and realized the waiter did not apply the discount which cost us about $35. We were not pleased to find this out. Plus, while Kres has a happy hour you have to sit in the bar to enjoy the offer. This is the dumbest decision I have ever heard of. Now you have to leave your table and dining party, go to the bar and order a drink and then return to your table. The stupidity of this idea is beyond belief.
Ate a nice dinner before a show at Dr Phillips Arena. Service was excellent & waitress very accommodating to our time frame. She also agreed to let us split a 12 oz steak between my friend & I. Delightful dining experience! We will make it a part of our pre-show routine!
Food was nice as it always is, but service on my last 2 visits has been sub-par. Drinks didn't showing up when ordered. Poor timing on food / drink service left me focused on finding our waiter instead of spending time with my family. Same story on the last 2 visits. Plenty of staff hovering around the bar or kitchen but only 1 or 2 people serving. ...and please don't ask me to cut into my steak while you stand over me. This isn't Applebees after all. I enjoyed my meal, but the service really detracted from the visit.
Came early for a midweek celebratory dinner. Got a great table for intimate conversion. Food was outstanding and hearty portions as well. I would go back again or recommend to anyone who wants a special dinner place. Located in the center of the action w/o all the distractions.
The food was phenomenal. Th service was excellent. Our waiter was wonderful and even went out of the way for one of the people in our party when he wanted something that is usually only on the dinner menu. The Bread pudding and Creme Brulee. Fabulous. Perfect for our Christmas lunch.
We have been dining at Kres for a few years now whenever we are in Orlando. The food is consistently good. We had a graduation celebration and a table for 7 and the food was never better. Thank you to Kres for making special accommodations for us and for keeping up with our changes! We had a perfect celebration thanks to you.
I heard a lot great reviews about Kres and finally got the opportunity to try them out. Billy Ray, the General Manager , greeted us at the front and was incredibly hospitable the entire evening. Food was amazing. Service was spot on. Steaks came out perfect with the right char on the outside and juicy and tender inside. The white chocolate bread pudding is to die for.
Two things they need to work on...the decor is from 15 years ago. It really needs to be updated. And while the wine list is very good, they do not keep it at proper temperature. If you are paying that much for a very nice bottle of wine, it needs to be served at the right temperature.
Although food was good, would not recommend. We were seated at 8:25pm for a 7:30 reservation. Hostess told us 25 min wait on arrival then revised to 15 mins. A 55 minute wait on Wednesday with a reservation was unreasonable. We would have preferred to make the decision to leave if they had been honest.
At Kres Chophouse for a business dinner. Ambiance was upscale and quiet, providing ease of conversation - an important feature for a business dinner. Two of us ordered the Beef Wellington, and the third ordered a different beef dish. All of us were well satisfied with our choices. Finished the meal with a chocolate dessert that was perfect for a chocoholic.
Our waitperson, Jay, was quite personable and took the time to explain the origin of the name. The restaurant was in a former Kresge's 5&10 store, and two of us at the table were old enough to remember the original Kresges chain.
