We have dined at Kreis' for over 21 years and NEVER have we been disappointed! We try to reserve our special friendly waiter on each visit which make this dining experience even better. Kreis' provides the old time professional dining experience that you can anticipate in a grand steakhouse. The meals are always prepared with extreme care and taste incredible! This is a Feel Good Place!
The Prime Rib was the best we have ever eaten. We were from St. Louis and never heard of this restaurant. We were in town for our 45th wedding anniversary and 50th class reunion. We live in Jacksonville, Florida and I am thrilled I found this place on line for our special event.
Great food. Great service.
Love this place...great food...absolutely the best steaks in St Louis....and equally great seafood. I had the seared scallops...they were wonderful! The price is a little steep, but that keeps the clients at a level that is very respectable and easy to dine with.
Big stain on our tablecloth when we sat down. 10 minutes before we got a server. Food was pretty good, not great. Had to wait 15-20 minutes to get server to bring our check. Bottom line: the restaurant thinks it's a bigger deal than it actually is. Skip it. You won't miss it.
Great steaks, excellent service. Not a cheap place but fair for the quality of the food and service. Reservations a must if you are going to go there in the evening. Known for prime rib but my wife and I are very partial to the filet. Fish is great as well but it is very hard to pass up their steaks.
Our server was outstanding, very knowledgeable
The appetizers were very expensive, but quite good
Service is always poor. I had four different servers. They keep switching. The fish was not great.
If you are a fan of prime rib, try this place. The queen-size portion is big enough for two meals and was tender and succulent. The salads were just so-so, and I didn't like the creamed spinach, but the cheesecake I ordered with the Sunday night special (salad, prime rib with one side and dessert for $39) was delicious. Not the most inexpensive place in town, but if you're craving prime rib, you can't do better than the Sunday special.
The sole, steak and prime rib were all prepared to perfection. In fact, every bite of each course was delicious. The key lime pie was the best I've ever tasted. We were a party of five. Even during the early seating, the waiter could not keep up with our basic needs - second pour from wine bottle, more than a cursory check-in after entrees arrived, slow service from start to finish. Even with the assistant wait-staff helping, our server struggled. The waiters need a course in customer service. Our waiter came around though, 15 minutes before the check arrived. Tables too close together in back room but the atmosphere was lively and fun.
Always a great meal and excellent service. We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries there all the time.
Kreis' is still a St. Louis staple. My out-of-town guest was blown away by the "old-school" ambience and, more importantly, the very high quality of the food and wine list. The prime rib was better than I remembered. We will be back!
Great food and atmosphere, along with great service. Truly a top steak house....
One of the best steaks in St. Louis. The wine list was small but solid. Our waiter was excellent. We will be back.
Great steaks, great service, wine list needs help.
More soup options would be desirable
