The Krebs is an historic restaurant founded in 1899 by Fred and Cora Krebs. The restaurant has been a popular landmark in Skaneateles for over a century, serving presidents, dignitaries and celebrities. The Krebs was re-opened after undergoing a complete renovation while carefully preserving the history and ambiance that visitors have grown accustomed to. The restaurant is a farm to table concept that utilizes the freshest hand selected local ingredients and the highest quality meats and seafood.     We waited a few years to get into The Krebs when traveling thru town; it’s a great place, we were just a little disappointed. 3 menu items that we really wanted to try were all out of stock and we were informed after we ordered each one. The server should be a bit more on top of that info. Otherwise a pretty cool Place

    The Krebs is very nice, as it occupies a beautiful house in a wonderful location, and its staff is professional, warm and friendly. The service was top-notch. But in certain respects it didn't meet our expectations. A smoked salmon chowder wasn't flavorful, as if the chef had nearly run out of the featured ingredient; it just didn't have the yumminess it should have. A feta and crostini appetizer was good and rich but main-entree-sized--not an appetizer, in other words, and should be un-supersized. And a pork schnitzel was overcooked. The surprise was that the ambience was contradicted by the un-mellow music. As much as the house and home-like setting suggests the most relaxed place to have a romantic dinner, the soundtrack seemed to us ill-chosen. Quiet, smooth, subdued it wasn't. We hope the Krebs can find something more smooth and sophisticated to match the candlelight and low conversation it seems designed for.

    Best brunch in a very long time. The duck confit with mushroom ragout is sublime. The best French toast I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended!

    It’s our first time dining at the Krebs. We love the atmosphere of the restaurant, very sophisticated. The service was amazing, our waitress was lovely. The food came out at a decent pace and oh! I love our banana cream tart dessert so much 🍨 thank you Abby for all the recommendations and Michael for an amazing food.

    The dinner started off a little rocky because we were seated in a table in the middle of the room and the wait staff was walking by consistently, making it difficult to enjoy our date night. We did ask to move tables and they accommodated us, after that the night went very well and the food was outstanding! Marshall was also fantastic and too very good care of us. Management also stopped over to talk with us right before we left, which was a good way to end the evening. We will definitely be back!

    We loved our dinner at The Krebs! From the moment we walked up the front steps, to our last bite of dessert, we were treated to personable and professional service. The espresso martini was beautiful and perfect! The small dining rooms were cozy and the lighting was just right. Thank you!

    The last time I dined at The Krebs was in 2016 and the meal, from start to finish, was superb. The room, service and food were stellar. So I was excited to bring my friend from the city there for her birthday and was looking forward to our meal. It started out good enough, although we felt some pressure by the server to order “two cocktails; it will make me look good” as they had just begun a new cocktail menu that evening… The starter, the whipped feta appetizer was a great change of pace and it was one of two highlights of the whole meal. The citrus salads were bright and light, but both main courses were a huge disappointment. The pork schnitzel was tasteless; the lobster crepe overcooked and tough. I sent back the lobster and the management was gracious, apologetic and removed it from the bill but we didn’t even comment on the pork… it just felt like too much. The other highlight was the deconstructed lemon meringue pie; the lemon curd was silky and tart, the crunch of the toasted graham cracker crumbs perfect with the bright icy lemon basil sorbet. A great start and better ending but sadly just missed the mark in between. The decor and ambiance is still quietly elegant; a lovely room…

    The bartender, Bernardo made a perfect dirty martini. Our server, Marshall was a delight and the somolier gave a tremendous recommendation on a delicious bottle of wine! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience!! Wish we lived closer. We would come back all the time!

    Best eggs benedict I've had in a long time - the sauce was perfect! to my taste. This longstanding restaurant had been a favorite of my Godmother who if still alive would be 111 years old. The renovations over the years are lovely too.

    We were there Saturday, September 2nd. We enjoyed very much. The food and ambiance were great, but our waiter was amazing. So professional. Wish we remembered his name, but we told him multiple times how good we thought he was. Would go back.

    The food was delicious, especially the curry cauliflower soup. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The only thing detracting from an outstanding experience was walking through a "wall" of cigar smoke on the patio prior to stepping into Krebs. The cigar smell followed us as we entered the restaurant.

    We have had many great meals at The Krebs. This time were a little disappointed with the service. The staff seemed confused about what each were responsible. One example, when the main course was delivered, the salad plates were not cleared. The food was fantastic, but very limited menu. The sablefish was substituted with salmon due to availability.

    Service was awful. So disappointing. Our waiter never came to ask about getting us more drinks while we waited for our meals. As a matter of fact, he came over and was going to ask about dessert and then said you didn’t get your meals yet? Once our meals were delivered, no checking on us. Food was above average however service was below low. I would probably not recommend to a friend.

    Elegant restaurant decor, ruined by cigar smoke bellowing into restaurant from front porch on entry. Disappointed by spoiled mushrooms & undercooked fish. Too quick to clear plates, felt rushed. Would dine elsewhere in the future.

    Eating at Krebs is normally a wonderful experience but that can dramatically change if you are unlucky and get the wrong server, which happened to us. Our server was clearly covering either a large group or too many tables. We waited for an outside table, which we were happy to do but our table was not reset for approximately 15 minutes after the previous people had left and we were told that it was our table. It was cleared immediately but not reset. When ordering my wife told our server that she didn’t eat sweets so she didn’t need to bring her any muffins, which everyone gets but if a roll was available she would like one. Unfortunately I didn’t get one until our meal, which was served directly from the kitchen, was mostly consumed. I was served coffee, which is always hot and flavorful, but didn’t get a refill, even after our sever told me that she would refill my cup. After we finished eating we waited a bit too long for the check, which was brought by someone apparently helping our very busy server. My wife and I always tip at least 20% but often 25% but not for this meal.

    Well balanced menu...quality offerings... Lobster Crepe appetizer thumbs up... Charcuterie Board was very simple and lacked imagination... Wine selection/opportunities borderline ridiculous....not sure what the mission is...pages of international overpriced options...minimal domestic (California cabs)... Midway through enjoying our two apps, an individual came and cleared our silver and plates...turned out to be the Som/Pastry Chef...really unclear why that happened....entrees were not served for another 15 minutes,...a real head scratcher... Entrees were meh, devoid of flavors... Have given this place 2 or 3 tries...likely done.

    Everyone should try The Krebs. The food was excellent and the decor impeccable!! Ambience is 5 star. Only complaint is that our entrees arrived and no wine for 15-20 minutes but would go back for sure. Place was hopping on a Friday night

    Our dinner was outstanding! Our servers were very helpful suggesting the best wine to have with our meal and were very attentive to every detail of our special anniversary event. I highly recommend the Krebs and we can’t wait to return.

    The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly and cut "like butter". I enjoy the sauce that came with it. My wife's branzino was one of the best fish dishes she ever had. Our server was friendly and efficient. The cocktails were very good, but a bit small. We both lied the cozy inside of the restaurant.

    Did no meet my expectations at all. Hostess was semi rude. Service was terrible. Food was mediocre. If all proceeds go to charity, I am sorry about that. That charity is not gonna make it on those proceeds.

    Went to dinner at Krebs for the first time. The food was great, but the service was a bit slow. We were not in a hurry at all, but the there was definitely a lack of attention. I really like the atmosphere and I will definitely try it again.

    Our food had excellent flavor. The pierogies were a little over cooked for us but we typically do not sauté ours. The whipped feta shareable was delicious. The ambience was weird and I think it was the bizarre mix of music. It went from 70s to euro techno to jazz. I’d pick something like jazz and stick to it. The silverware was oddly placed and I am not sure that was intentional or the server did not really know the order of the silver service. The space is lovely and just right to be able to talk with your party and not hear everyone else. The furniture is perfectly set up and comfortable. The food was delicious and I would go again.
