Did not expect to have a fine dining experience in this restaurant. The history of the entire village is also a really neat aspect of the place. Really enjoyed our entire meal, and look forward to coming back. Would be great for a date night for a couple at any point in their relationship, it was quiet enough to have a good conversation, and the tables were well spaced apart.
As always food and service were great
Great food, service and ambience!
Another outstanding meal and excellent service! We had a lovely Anniversary dinner, thank you!
Fabulous food and service. Like their fixed price menu as well as standard menu. We had the Scallops as well as the Salmon and both entrees were delicious. The sweet potato gnocchi course was amazing - loved it. I like the fact that your server is also your bartender - great idea.
Colleen was our server and she was pleasant, knowledgeable and fun. Can't wait to go back.
Krazy Kat's always meets expectations and more. Appetizers -- foie gras and Blue Point oysters -- were scrumptious. Fish entrees were wonderful. We like that there's an option for a small portion and a larger portion for many of the entrees. Service is always outstanding.
Excellent experience! Food, wine list and service were all very good. Highly recommend.
Had not been for many years, and it still looks the same with all the charm for a good date restaurant. When I say it looks the same, I mean exactly the same as it apparently has not had any updating in a decade...could use a bit of repair to the furniture, walls, flooring, etc. Otherwise, still clean and no smell of mold so often found in very old restaurants. Wine menu has some good selections at very reasonable prices, especially, the Sunday night $20 bottle options. Excellent bargain on the Chardonnay. Also could not resist saving money going with the well priced pre-fix menu. Mushroom Risotto and Hearts of Romaine were excellent. Dinners were good, but not excellent. Petite Filet required more chewing than desirable, and the free range chicken smothered with a sauce was only one dimensionally earthy. Certainly not rushed, as we had about 50 minutes between the end of the salad course and getting the dinner course. But, the check came quickly upon declining dessert. Still, a fun place to go, and a value on pre-fix menu nights.
We are always delighted and seldom if ever disappointed to dine here. With the exception of my salad that was uncharacteristically wilted our food was sensational. The chef sent us a tasting of veal with goat cheese sandwiched between puff pastry that was wonderful. For our first course we shared the veal shephard's pie pierogies. They were melt in your mouth tasty and tender with a wonderful mushroom sauce and sauteed diced root vegetables making a perfect dish to share. As I mentioned earlier my salad was limp but my man thoroughly enjoyed his favorite crab bisque soup. He chose the crab cake dinner as his entree and said it was the best he's ever tasted. I had the Buffalo short ribs that were extremely tender and wonderfully flavored. But the best part of our meal was sharing an order of brussel sprouts. It sounds crazy but they were so delicious we had none left to take home. They were crispy and flavored with a sweet chili sauce. Wonderful! We also shared a bottle of Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz to compliment our dinner selections. I must say that the dessert selections were very unimaginative and disappointing. Very uncharacteristic for one of our favorite "go to" places for dinner celebrations.
We always get good meals here but this time was definitely one of the best
My son (11) and I had a very delightful 2018 Easter Brunch. Very kind and prompt staff, delicious food, sophisticated and unique decor. We will be back!
Although our meal was very good, Krazy Kats needs major renovations. It’s very old and dated and the upholstery and rugs need updating. My wife had to ask for a pillow because The chair she was sitting in was sinking. Crazy cats just feels old and needs to re-establish a more contemporary theme. I was looking forward to this night and it was a letdown
It was our first visit to Wilmington for a romantic getaway. We found Krazy Kat's on-line and were intrigued. Locals we spoke to said it is a great place. We were delighted by every bit of the experience, from the warm welcome through the drinks, food and friendly attentive service. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Next time we want to stay at the Inn!
Not our first time and certainly not our last. I nice place for special occasions. The staff really make you feel welcome.
The decor is quirky, the service is great, the menu is eclectic, and the food is very good, albeit expensive. I have only two minor complaints. Although they have a bar, an extensive wine list, and a few different bottled beers, they have none on tap, not even the local brews. The other issue was that my rib eye was a bit tough and chewy, which is not in keeping with its $35 price. It was also petite, but small portions are par for the course (pun intended) at this type of restaurant.
Krazy Kat's is always a delight. The atmosphere is lovely and the food and service are very good. I especially enjoy the Garden Room for Sunday Brunch or lunch.
My favorite restaurant. I am a vegetarian and I always find a meal of true delight.
Good wine selection, excellent steak and short ribs.
Pleasure,will surely return
Service and ambiance were great. And so was the wine, and cheese plate appetizer. The crab bisque was fair - not the right consistency - too thick and rubbery and just a couple tiny lumps of crab meat. The entrees were very disappointing. My wife’s filet dish was overwhelmed and overloaded with creamy sauces that really detracted from the taste of the beef. My scallop dish was awful. There were tiny pieces of scallop hidden in a sauce and rice mound. The whole dish was very small, and I ordered the large version! I’d hate to see the small size portion.
Welcoming, comfortable, friendly, good food. A great place to come to relax and talk over a fine lunch.
We've dined in this restaurant numerous times and always had wonderful experiences. This time wasn't an exclusion, but even better then our usual expectations dinner.
Thank you so much for being so consistent in bringing so much pleasure to your patrons.
Definitely will be back for many more delightful experiences ahead.
Great evening! Many menu selections to choose from. We loved the wine list! Very reasonable.
We usually love Krazy Kat's but this brunch far from met our expectations. While the food my tasty as always my husband's waffle was dry and the assistant to our server was atrocious. He spilled grapefruit juice across the table while clearing plates and didn't even apologize and his overall attitude was morose. Our silverware was not replaced when taken with the first course so we had to take replacement from a neighboring table.
As always, service was timely and friendly and the food was outstanding. I've never had a bad experience at Krazy Kats
I have gone here many times and don't usually write a review but I was so impressed with the service that I have to mention it. The other couple that was joining us called at the last minute to say they would be an hour late. Gather restaurant handled it with grace and kindness. We were never rushed and they helped us by serving drinks and one appetizer for us and then more when the other couple arrived. The food is always good but it was especially tasteful and interesting on this occasion. The wait staff did a great job.
We love Krazy Kats!
Outstanding Food and service. We had a very pleasurable experience here and will be back again. Very nice scene for a quiet romantic dinner.
Very special place with incredibly nice staff and great service. The fois gras, lobster and duck were out of this world. Great wines that aren’t obnoxiously priced!
We had two wonderful dinners and brunch/breakfasts while staying at the Inn at Montchanin. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere lovely. Would highly recommend... Especially appreciated that one could order small plates for most entrées.
Great ambiance, really delicious food but a tad overpriced. The restaurant wasn’t busy but our service was a little slow... but our waitress AND her asst were really nice. I’d def try their brunch and will recommend this restaurant to others
Krazy Kats is an all around first rate experience, excellent service, and outstanding food!
I wrote a very positive review on Yelp. Please go there to see why I LOVE this place!
Food was excellent. Initially, we waited a VERY long time to receive a first glass of wine prior placing our order. We had to ask another server for it. Additionally, the "back server" was a little too zealous in trying to clear our plates. Overall, it was a lovely evening. The crab bisque was so tasty that I asked for another order to-go. The restaurant has a good selection of dessert wines, port and after dinner drinks... much appreciated.
A very good Sunday night dinner. Only issue of any note was that food was too slow getting out of the kitchen. Two of our three tried the $35 prix-fixe menu with one of the $20 wines (an excellent red, pleasantly surprised). Sweet-potato gnocchi were heavier than my preference; there were quite a few of them and they could have filled me up if I let them, lol. Crab bisque was good and crabby, above average. Filet good. I find Krazy Kat's an unusually well-managed restaurant; the dining room is carefully tended-to; don't think I've ever felt crowded, rushed, or beset with voices and noise. We can always converse and don't feel we bother anyone else, either. That plus the unusual décor makes a wonderful atmosphere for a dinner out, IMO.
Our second visit. Went with friends.
Good service - interesting menu - good food. Enjoyed the evening.
Would recommend it to others.
Not my first visit to Krazy Kat's, however, my first in a little over two years. The menu has always been creative, and the wine list has been expanded since my last visit. All in all, if you're in the vicinity of the restaurant, I recommend making a reservation. They also serve brunch, although I have not personally attended, I'm sure it's a worthwhile destination.
We like Krazy Kat's and have been there about seven or eight times. We were there for their Sunday Brunch celebrating a family member's birthday. We choose Krazy Kat's based on past experiences with service, food and ambience. Unfortunately, the service this time was not their best or close to it. In particular, our waitress. She didn't introduce herself upon coming to our table. She seemed uncertain about some menu items and overall not well verse with attention to detail.
Quaint and unexpected- I had the scallops- they were cooked perfectly - the service was outstanding - kudos to Max - the atmosphere also gets high marks.
Service was excellent...present, but not overbearing. Appetizers and drinks were excellent and delivered in a timely fashion. My wife and son loved their food. I had the Buffalo short rib, and initially the flavors were very good with the hint of fruit and coffee crusting coming through on the first bite...but about midway through it got very salty. I thought maybe it was because I'd read some of the other reviews and had a salt bias, so I gave it a few more bites but it was still too salty. I would still highly recommend going to KK but would say that you may want to request "easy on the salt". The quality of the meats and other dishes is great so I'm not sure why the need for so much salt. We live close by and I would still keep this on my "go to" list for a nice dinner...
