Standard fare. Does not distinguish itself from sushi prepared in Chinese takeout

Kouzan is always reliable -- a pleasant, conversation-friendly place to have good Japanese food. The sushi is always fresh, and the other dishes are carefully prepared. The tempura, especially, is perfectly crisp and grease-free. The waitstaff is always friendly and efficient. Great neighborhood place.

The best sushi in its area. The dining room is dark and a soothing respite from office glare. The food is top rate.

Good, solid neighborhood Japanese restaurant. A little pricey, but the food is always good and the service is friendly. Quiet enough to have a conversation without raising your voice.

Cramped. Tables too close together. Waiter never brought our salads. My sushi was fine. My husband asked for just salmon and tuna, but the waiter said it could not be done. Why? Only explanation is plates pre-prepared, yet all that is involved is (re)placing pieces of fish). The only reason I would recommend it is we don’t have many options for sushi in the neighborhood. And there is a full bar!

Very quiet on a Monday lunch, but attentive service and nicely presented sushi made for a pleasant meal.

First time I had a meal at Kouzan that was unsatisfactory. The Shrimp Tempura Roll was cold and stale. Ditto the black seaweed that wraps around the sushi - it was like eating styrofoam.

This is a neighborhood staple. Little pricier than some others in the area but food is better by far.

Sashimi was bad. They were willing to replace and I declined. Very nice servers and owner. They removed from my bill and apologized.
Noodles were good but rolls were weak.

Will never return. Left a good tip bc the servers were very courteous.

I live near Kouzan and love sushi so I am here often when I'm home. The fish is fresh and they di NOT skimp. It's a good size piece of fish consistently. They have several good sakes and cocktails. It's an enjoyable dining experience.

Delicious and low key dining! Easy to get a reservation. The sushi was very tasty and the wine was served in a carafe so I could get two glasses for the price of one! I recommend!

We have been there a couple of times before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it was very crowded and they couldn't deal with it. My sushi was v good but two other guests had very bad experiences. Maitre d tried to get it right. But even beers took for ever to arrive and reminders were needed
